And — as luck would have it! — we got the chance to catch up with the “Straight Up” songstress. Abdul, of course, wanted to mostly keep the focus on the hundreds of sets of twinkle toes that were there to audition for the talent competition, but we managed to sneak in a few questions about American Idol and the upcoming X-Factor. Click on the video below to hear her thoughts on her new CBS dance show, as well as what she has to say about American Idol‘s new judging panel, if the show (without Simon!) can still be successful going forward, and whether she might reunite with Cowell on X-Factor‘s judging panel next fall.

3 hrs of x-factor next fall. FOX is stupid…oh I long for the days eons ago and shows like X-FILES. If FOX takes my FRINGE away next fall, I’ll be leaving FOX too.
All 3 hours probably won’t be on separate nights, I imagine X-Factor will have a 2-hour night then an hour night, just like DWTS/AI. So…instead of Hell’s Kitchen for 2 hours on wednesday I can see X-Factor taking an hour on that night…then idk about the 2 hour block.
