Kristen Stewart talks 'Breaking Dawn' script: 'It's done, it's locked'

In an oddly animated interview with MTV News, Kristen Stewart talked about the final installment of the Twilight series with something approaching enthusiasm. Having just returned from Breaking Dawn read-throughs in Baton Rouge with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, Stewart reported that “it’s done, it’s locked… basically we know exactly how the book is going to find itself, and now we know all the lines and know what scenes have been pulled.” No word yet on whether the birthing scene of baby vampire chewing her cutesie-schmoopsie way out of Bella’s womb has been tweaked or cut. See the interview clip after the jump.

Alright PopWatchers: Twilight haters to the left, fans to the right. We’ve got two more movies to either anticipate or dread, depending on whichever side of the aisle you assume. Be kind to one another!

this s h i t t y movies have a script? next thing you’ll tell us too is that there’s some acting too..

    • Michelle

      Learn English before you criticize.

      • Duncan

and you go to the kitchen and make me a goddamn sandwich!

      • Alex Getts

@Duncan – Yes, sexism will make your point more valid. /sarcasm

    • Meaghan

I agree with Michelle. I’m all for speaking your opinion Duncan, but maybe you should learn proper grammar and spelling before you do so. Otherwise, you just look like the ignorant trash I’m positive you are based on your reply to Michelle’s comment.

    • LOL

      Love me some K-Stew!

  • LIVEITUP

Wow Duncan, what an enthusiastic hater to be the first to post a comment…
Anyway…Can’t wait for the final films! I was among the minority, and actually really loved Breaking Dawn! I do hope they kept it close to the books! I can imagine they added some action to the end considering that everything was resolved rather quietly.

    • Duncan

go get a life you pathetic loser

      • @Duncan

LIVEITUP is a fan excited about the movie, making a relevant comment. You’re just a bully douchebag.
I think it’s clear who the pathetic loser is.
        (hint: it’s definitely Duncan)

      • LIVEITUP

Now Duncan, that’s not very nice. I think the looser would be the person that has nothing better to do than read an article on something that they dislike, and take the time to make a comment bashing it. Have a nice day, and try not to be so bitter and angry.

    • Liz

Breaking Dawn was my favorite(?), well it was the one I liked least because a huge chucnk was told from Jacob’s perspective.

      • LIVEITUP

I am by no means a Jacob fan, but I thought it was interesting that we got things from his perspective. Edward was numb and in pain for Bella. Bella would have been very one sided. We also wouldn’t have gotten what was going on with the other wolves.

    • welshgirl

I equate this book to watching the movie for Jaws for 2 hours and hearing the duh-duh-duh-duh crescendo only to find out that Jaws was in fact, a goldfish with no teeth. Seriously, after the baby, NOTHING happens in this book. All geared up and NOTHING happens. I won’t be going to this one.

      • Cat

That’s the thing I hated most about BD too!

      • Heather P

That’s an incredibly accurate description of the post-baby developments in that book.

  • Karate Pants

As much as I enjoy the excessive Twilight news, that clip didn’t tell me ANYTHING except that Kristin has transferred her nervousness to her left foot. I watched a couple of the other clips and only learned the term “Krisbians” (whaaa??) and got confirmation that the feathers made it into the movie (duh).

    • Nan

Ha, ha! I know, I had never heard the term “Krisbians” before. I’ve seen a few interviews with her lately and she does seem more excited about filming this one. Wonder why?

  • Aaln

Believe it or not, some of us have NOT read the books. Nice job giving away that she is giving birth to a vampire baby. Gee, I wonder who the Dad is? How about a spoiler alert next time?

    • nodnarb

      The father is Joseph Smith.

      • Karate Pants

Oooh, I wonder what kind of powers would result from human egg + mormon ghost sperm? I’m sure I’ll know soon enough, sounds like a plausible Big Love storyline the way that show has been going lately. lol

      • Cheri

Joseph Smith was called a prophet.
        *dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb*

      • Chloe

He started the Mormon religion, dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.

    • Mr. Holloway

“Gee, I wonder who the Dad is?”

I got an early look at the script. Apparently, in the middle of BD: Part 1 they make an appearance on “Maury.” It didn’t make sense at the time, but I think I just figured out why.

      • StewyFan

        Hahahahahahahaha. ROF!

      • Tajah

        HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

    • Ally

Ha are you serious? It’s widely known that her birth is one of the main topics in the movie, and her baby will most likely even be in trailers…this is NOT a spoiler alert!

    • GS

Guess you missed all the stuff about the casting of Renesme, Bella and Edward’s daughter? People who watch movies based on books without reading the books have got to understand that people will talk about the plot b/c that’s the point of basing them on a book! Won’t see a movie based on a book til I’ve read the book. The movies make more sense that way. And the books are always better.

    • Cxxli

So you were going to wait for a movie that is based off of a book to…yeah that is the way to go

  • Shannon S

I hate the Twilight movies, but I don’t have a problem with people who like them. What I do have a problem with is movie studios pandering to their crowd now but making Lautner take his shirt off every 5 seconds and every other ridiculous thing that just screams “Teenage girls will LOVE this!!!” These actually could have been decent movies…but the studio had to go and destroy them so they could sell a billion posters and Team Jacob/Team Edward t-shirts.

    • LIVEITUP

There is actually a reason beyond “making the young girls swoon” over Jacobs’ lack of shirt. It’s in the book.

  • Desmo

come on people, enough with the twilight bashing.. it’s getting old. and yes, I do think these movies are horrible, and appeal to simpletons with a sad, low IQ. But, that is no reason to be mean to them.. I mean, do you all make fun of the retarded? cause that’s the equivalent of what you’re doing here

    • LIVEITUP

Come on Desmo. Calling people retarded isn’t politically correct.

      • Desmo

        mentally challange.. sorry!

      • Desmo

as in twilight fans= mentally challenge.. there, I have corrected my words

      • LIVEITUP

        Thank you for the correction.
Twilight haters that have nothing better to do than read an article based on something they despise, comment and argue with the folks that actually enjoy it, and come back to check and argue some more= a pathetic lonely person that is probably single because one of the opposite sex couldn’t possibly tolerate your ignorance and the fact that you reside in your Grandma’s basement and frequent porn sights to pleasure yourself.

      • teenage toy

LIVEITUP, yes the craplight bashing is getting old, however, those that defend that horrible series are getting stupider, come on, how can you people be proud of such garbage? also, you call Desmo a troll who has nothing better to do then to spend his time here and comment a lot, yet you do the same, so what does that make you?

      • dntbstpd1

        Sarah Palin hates you! lol

    • Meaghan

Well, Desmo, I have an IQ of 132 and I happen to love the Twilight books and movies. What does that make me? Just because someone likes to read a book at the end of their day that takes them to another world does not make them a “simpleton.” What books do you enjoy reading? Please let us know so we can judge you and make fun of you for your likes as you are doing to us.

      • StewyFan

        Thank you, Meaghan.

      • Karate Pants

I want to know what Desmo/Duncan/whoevertroll reads too…fess up, dork! And plushie porn is NOT a book.

      • Duncan

132 IQ? where did you get that score? a box of cereal? then again, you’re a woman, your 132 is the equivalent to below 50 when compare to a man..

      • Duncan

@Karate pants: tell that to your mother, after all, that idiot gave birth to you by accident!

      • Karate Pants

Gave birth to me by accident? What, was she supposed to hold her legs shut when the time came? I know you probably know NOTHING about women’s bodies, but that would be VERY uncomfortable.
Why don’t you head back under the bridge you came from? Trolls are boring.

      • teenage toy

karate pants, if your mother had done that, it would have done a huge favor to society

      • Karate Pants

Thanks for proving my point. Starve, trolls. I’m done.

    • LIVEITUP

Hi teenage toy. I am reading an article about a movie that is based on a series of books that I enjoy and would like to carry on with other people that also enjoyed the books. Oh well…..

    • Yay

I just love when people do this. My IQ is 140 and I ‘m a fan.

  • StewyFan

This was a great interview. Josh is really cool and always seems well prepared and asks good questions. I liked the “Krisbian” question and the BD and WTTR questions. I am excited for WTTR and if for nothing else but to see another Kristen movie, excited for the BD film. Love you Stewy!

    • cracky

Josh’s interview was great, he was prepared and his questions had variety. Other media outlets (ET) could only talk about BD when there’s a WTTR poster a foot from their face. I really hate that.

      • StewyFan

Exactly. Josh did mention Twilight, but that’s all he did: mention. The majority of the interview was about WTTR. He was respectful and prepared.

  • pat

    its simple…twilight sucks

  • snot

ok. seriously. the twilight series is a teen book series. the movies… are also a teen series. do you really expect high quality from a TEEN series? for what it’s supposed to be, i think they are alright. so what if the teenagers love them… that was the entire point. it amazes me when adults go on about how bad they are.. and yet think the hangover is revolutionary movie making. come on. seriously?

    • A

“do you really expect high quality from a TEEN series?”
I don’t really understand your point. So, movies geared at teens and younger people should never try to be high quality movies? How does that make any sense? Teen movies can be of high quality. There have been many of them that are of high quality.

  • Shannon S

The Twilight supporters here are cracking me up with their defense…Taylor Lautner is supposed to take his shirt off every 5 seconds “because it’s in the book”??? Let me guess, because he’s a wolf his body temperature runs high so he doesn’t like to wear much clothing…or something like that? I don’t care what the reason is; it’s still stupid. Hey, look…there’s a LOT of idiotic movies/shows I watch. But I don’t brag about it on websites or try to convince people about why they are wrong. If you love somthing, no matter how goofy it is…GOOD FOR YOU. This is a free country and everyone has the right to that. Just don’t try to convince ME that these movies are any good.

    • LIVEITUP

I am not trying to convince anyone of anything except that there are reasons in the book as to why Jacob is shirtless. I get sick of the haters hating just to hate. Read the books and then come back to hate if you don’t like them.

      • Shannon S

But that’s my point…I don’t want to read the books. I trust that you found something in those books that spoke to you and you’re willing to accept the movies for what they are. I love seeing people be this passionate about something they love. I’ve gone into these talkbacks to discuss TV shows like “Lost” for HOURS AND HOURS. And I’ve read books that I loved which were turned into movies, and then listened to people bashing them, all the while thinking: “NO!! That’s not right! They didn’t do it that way in the book!” But I get over it…quickly. I don’t need other people’s approval to confirm my love of something. I will probably watch every one of the Twilight movies at some point yet NEVER read the books…and that might drive fans crazy, but that’s just the way it is.

      • Denise

Shannon, no one cares. No one’s trying to convince you to like any of it. Why are you even here?

      • Shannon S

Because I’m at work and it’s slow, and I’m bored, and I like seeing how upset you guys get about this. Why are YOU here? :)

(Relax, and take a breath, this is supposed to be an OPEN discussion)

      • Denise

It’s supposed to be an open discussion about Twilight news. Not about you. Which is what you want it to be about.

      • StewyFan

        Oh. My. God.

      • LIVEITUP

I agree Shannon. I like you am at work and bored. Thank you atleast being diplimatic. Thanks folks for giving me something to do with my afternoon! ;)

      • Shannon S

        to LIVEITUP

Thank you. I mean, isn’t this better than just surfing the net OVER and OVER again? I could be on ESPN reading some stupid story about Michael Vick, or on “E! Online” reading about what Kim Kardashian is eating for lunch today. I don’t know about you guys, but I can only look at that junk for so long.

    • JasonInDFW

To explain the lack of a shirt. Think of the Incredible Hulk. As the Hulk, he was much larger, so if he was wearing a shirt at the time, it was ripped. Then when he became normal, he had no shirt.

In the book, sometimes Jacob forgets to remove his clothing before shifting, resulting in a lack of shirt. Or he chooses to only carry pants with him, since it is hard to carry a full suitcase as a wolf.

  • Ron

I don’t understand why people feel the need to read articles about twilight, and then leave negative remarks. Why would this article even attract a person that isn’t interested in twilight? I’m a twilight fan, and like to read articles about twilight. But, why do they? I have friends that say they hate twilight, but have seen all three movies, and plan to see Breaking Dawn. Maybe it’s just not cool in their world to like it, so they brag they hate it, while secretly they are suckers for a good love story.

    • Storm

Key word there is GOOD love story. TWILIGHT is NOT a Good love story at all. And I do not have a secret passion for it. that is as far from the truth as it can get. Maybe we are on here in protest. Because the movies have been out since 08 and we have heard nothing but constant Twilight crap everywhere. Its a huge turnoff.

  • Storm

Twilight sucks and I don’t need any form of proof that’s true. Its obvious to anyone who has more than shallow feelings. But if you must know I read Harry Potter. My vocabulary has tripled since reading the series and I have gotten a better understanding of tolerance of others. Unlike twilight all I ever hear is ” so and so is soooo HOT. HE should walk around with his shirt off!! Rob is so dreamy. BLAH BLAH BLAH” Gross. I think they are all ugly. Rob and Kristen look like druggies who dont bathe.

    • Karate Pants

“…since reading the series and I have gotten a better understanding of tolerance of others”
Uh, great. So when do you plan to put that into practice?

      • trashytvlover

        love this comment :)

    • abeeotch

      Storm:
      See above comment.
Can’t we all celebrate that people are reading?
I find it interesting that people who don’t like Twilight, excuse me HATE Twilight would bother with an article that is definately about Twilight and then read comments and post comments.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and just the lack of respect for other people choices is so 1950′s.

Again, celebrate that people are reading!!!

      • Storm

So is letting a Man? control your love life. And acting like a Mary Sue with NO life.

    • StewyFan

Storm, I love how the key complaint to your long rambling comment is about how hot us Twilight fans think Rob and Taylor are. Jealous much there?
BTW, Robert Pattinson is one fine a$$ mother f*****.

      • Storm

Im NOT NOT NOT jealous of anything that has to do with Twilight. And what I meant by tolerance of others is not bickering on the internet. I meant diversity you idiots. And think what you want of Rob. I think he looks like he is on crack. And no I hide nothing when I say that. I say it without hesitation.

    • nodnarb

LMAO at “I read Harry Potter”! Is that supposed to be impressive? Harry Potter’s fun, but hardly a literary feat. If you read Kafka, I think your brain would melt out of your ears. And if your vocabulary tripled reading the Harry Potter series, high school failed you!

      • Storm

WHY? am I explaining myself to you. I just meant that there is more vocabulary in Harry Potter that I have never heard before but do know. I graduated with a diploma in 07. So obviously I learned something highschool. I was also comparing the stale dialogue in Twilight to the exciting one in Harry Potter. So go back to your shallow series, I dont care. But a Mary Sue who falls for some freak who watches her- is BAD NEWS. Yes I have opened one of the books and tried to read it.

    • JasonInDFW

Way to show off that tolerance of others.

  • LYNN

It is only a movie. You people need a life!

    • teenage toy

said the idiot who breaths twilight

      • lefty

        breaths twilight.

        boom, roasted.

    • @LYNN

What people? The ones taking the time to read the article and comment on a series they hate? Then yes, you people DO need a life.

  • Tulip

I’m so excited for Breaking Dawn. There are so few things in this world to be happy about. Twilight has been an escape for many of us and I for one thank all the creative people who made this fantasy a reality.

  • Shannon S

    to Ron:

I’ll answer your question about why people who hate the movies waste their time commenting on it: I’m married w/ 2 kids, and my wife LOVES these movies. And part of being married is subjecting your partner to things they don’t want to see! I dragged my wife to see Jackass 3 this weekend, and she’ll make me watch the next Harry Potter and Twilight movies (although I can tolerate the HP movies more). That’s just what you do in most families. Also, I have a job where I talk on the phone, but there’s a lot of downtime for me to surf the web. The bottom line is that people prefer to talk more about things they hate rather than what they like. Think about it like this: try to recall the best customer service you’re even gotten…over the phone, in a restaurant, etc. Now try to recall the WORST service you’ve ever gotten. You probably have 10 times as many bad stories, right? People just like to talk about what they hate. It’s just our society.

    • Denise

The internet is rather huge. You could spend time elsewhere. You didn’t really answer Ron’s question.

    • StewyFan

See, I’m the exact opposite. I don’t go on articles of things that I don’t like. I find it a waste of time. I focus on the articles that I like. I find it rather depressing and miserable to just comment on things that I don’t like. Rather be positive and happy and uplifting. I love Twilight, I am a fan of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, so therefore, I love talking about them. That is all. But yet, I am attacked for that. Go figure.

      • Shannon S

But if those are the things you love, you shouldn’t let other people’s words get to you. I remember when I went to a movies with someone to see Fight Club, and when we left, I absolutely loved it. But my friend despised it so much that it made me embarrassed to actually tell him that I liked it. So I pretended to agree…and then a year later when he saw the DVD sitting on my shelf, it caused a very awkward conversation. If you love the Twilight movies/books, then good for you.

      • StewyFan

I don’t let it get to me. I was just debating with you on your comment. If I let it get to me, I would have left ew.com a long time ago. People in general like different things. That’s fine. I don’t expect everyone to like Twilight, it’s not for everyone. To each their own I say. :)

    • Karate Pants

Shannon S, everyone’s entitled to their opinion, no doubt about that. And where there’s a Twilight article, there will certainly be haters and fans alike. But your posts ARE a little weird.
Let me put it this way, what if I showed up on an article about Jackass 3 and said, “Jackass 3 is stupid! Stop trying to convince me that it’s good!” It wouldn’t make sense, right?

      • Shannon S

The Twilight movies/books are different, though. This is a strange worldwide phenomenon that for some reason gets people very worked up. I agree with what you’re saying, though, and I welcome the criticism!! And Jackass 3 was awesome, AND DON’T YOU TRY TO TELL ME OTHERWISE! Ha ha, just kidding.

      • Karate Pants

I won’t dwell on the fact that my Jackass 3 example evaded you.
Despite that, and despite that your frustration with the series seems misdirected (your previous comments seem to show that this is really rooted in the fact that your wife drug you unwillingly to movies you don’t like, so you want fans to convince you to like it?), I suppose we WERE able to discern that your reason for being here IS solely because you want to rile up a message board. I guess if that’s what trips your trigger, enjoy yourself? Some people call that “trolling”. But whatever.

    • nodnarb

Some of these anti-Twilight screeds are just as idiotic as the Twitards. That customer service metaphor possessed the intellectual capacity of a garden gnome trying to sell me airline tickets. If you’re going to hate on Twilight, at least demonstrate enough intelligence to mock its anti-feminist themes or its connections to Mormon doctrine.

      • Karate Pants

I thought all the hater comments would stop when I read that Tom Bosley died…I was pretty sure they were all coming from him. NO! Too soon! I am only kidding! I really loved him, I really did!
Anyway, I agree, the haters are getting dumber…just when we needed them most. Breaking Dawn is SO worthy of criticism, both the book and the movie (I’m sure), and *POOF* the smart ones all disappear. Bummer!

      • Stephanie Miller

Everyone likes or dislikes what they want, there is nothing wrong with anyone voicing their opinions, but being down right childish like this duncan kid who started this conversation and calling eachother names is just wrong! Can we just voice our opinions and be nice to eachother. There is nothing wrong with having an open discussion like or dislike. BTW i’m 34 and I read all the books and have seen all the movies and love them!

      • nodnarb

In Tom Bosley’s day, vampires didn’t sparkle!!

      • Karate Pants

Maybe he was the sole competent (besides you of course, c) Twi-hater! I vaguely remember someone debating the series’ misogynistic themes under the handle “Father Dowling”.

      • nodnarb

LOL! Was there really? I need to google those old debates and re-read them. Good times. :)

      • Karate Pants

No, not really – but good times indeed. ;)

    • GS

She definitely got the short end of the stick! I love my husband dearly but no way would I ever sit through Jackass – any of them. Nor do I expect him to see any of the Twilight movies with me. Those are for friends who also like the books. He is wanting to see Deathly Hallows since I just read all the books and watched all the movies in the last month but I’m not making him go.
