Image Credit: Bob D'Amico/ABC Elisabeth Hasselbeck has a new gig lined up: She’ll be covering family and parenting issues for Good Morning America in addition to her duties on The View. Her first segment will air on Monday and “will look at kids and tattoos – the dangers and the alternatives, as well as how parents should handle kids who come to them begging for one. Elisabeth will also look at the growing trend of parents and kids getting tattoos together,” according to a statement from ABC. O…kay?
I’m not a big Hasselbeck fan, but at least on The View, the other hosts can dilute some of the chirping. Here’s hoping the other GMA correspondents can do the same.

To be fair, if she does not preach about how to raise your kids best, I think she is well suited for the job. She just has to look at things objectively and not with her emotions.I respect everyone’s opinion to why they think they are right or wrong, but you have to LISTEN to the other people so you can get a better understanding of their thought process. My nieces and nephews get the hanahh tatoos on. We don’t have a problem with it at all because we know they will come off. I actually encouraged them to get them so they could have something cool on their arms when they were having their tattoo phase. I told them that hannah would be the way to go because they could change the drawing. It actually satisfied their urge of getting a real tattoo. Anyhow, lets not forget that there is other cultures where tattoos and body piercings are part of their society.

Nope I was right there with you excited too until I saw the shared duties. I prefer Today and was hoping that her going to GMA I wouldn’t have to see her on The View anymore. I used to be able to take her in small doses but over the years, I have stopped watching The View because of her and everyone else’s reactions to her on the show.
Me too. Every time I try to watch The View I have to change channels when EH starts harping.
Um … I can see her talking about issues with young children. However, none of her kids are old enough/teens to have tatoos/want to start getting tatoos. I just don’t see the correlation.
And she’s so annoying, isn’t just her being on The View enough? She’s not the sole reason, but a major reason why I stopped watching The View.

Y’know, I’m hardly a conservative, but it really gets me when people get their hate filled panties in a bunch over someone who, while I don’t agree with her politics, seems decent enough. Trying to slam her for what she doesn’t know, jeez, do you think your local anchormand knows (feces) about Darfur? Whatch the View sometimes and you’ll see the hosts quietly listen to their earplugs getting information or questions from the booth. Good thing too, sometimes one of them(not just Elizabeth) asks some really stupid question that you can tell they thought up all by themselves. This is usually followed by a halfway intelligent remark or question that I can only deduce comes from the booth for dqamage control. Lets face it, most of the talking heads on tv are not really there fpor their intelligence, that’s why they have writers. And I’ll trust Hasselbecks advice on parenting(umm, since she is actually a parent) then I’ll take political advice from your average celebrity. I mean, Sean Penn isn’t going to sway me to the left any more than Bo Derek is gonna sway me to the right. I was saddened when the great Diane Sawyer left GMA. Now I’m downright disappointed.
I miss the team they used to have, too. Diane, Robin, Chris and Sam were great together. I stopped watching it when they shipped Chris off to 20/20 and brought in George and JuJu. The chemistry just isn’t the same. I noticed their string of 3 straight Daytime Emmys ended this year. I wonder if this means they are grooming Hasselbeck to someday do more.

Disheartening. GMA just went way down in my estimation, giving that strident woman a prime position on their staff. I will try not to watch it anymore. Sigh. The right wing controls the media, and the most loud and extreme get all the attention. Our country is in sad shape, there is no middle road, only extremists.
