The full trailer for 127 Hours is out, and it paints a much scarier, more emotional picture than the previous teaser. James Franco stars as adventurous mountain climber Aron Ralston, who amputated his own arm after being trapped under a boulder in a canyon for over five days. I gasped, oh, 11 times during this trailer:
There’s already talk of Franco being an Oscar contender, and the film garnered standing ovations at the Toronto Film Festival. It’s almost as if the true story of a man severing his own arm is really compelling or something…
Are you excited for 127 Hours , PopWatchers? Or does it look a liiiiittle too harrowing to sit through?

I actually kind of liked how the initial trailer ended with him getting stuck in the boulder.
However, this one is just breathtaking. (I seriously stopped breathing for a few seconds when everything went silent.) I know a lot of the material is going to be a lot to take, but I can’t wait to see this.
I still have no interest in seeing this film, I think it’s because of James Franco…I like him in general but he just seems incredibly annoying here and I don’t think I could take him for a full two hours.
Also, one of the quotes they used, “One of the best performances of all time” is just ridiculous and hilarious…look at the no-name who said that and how small the font they used for his name is
Was it Karate Pants who said her husband looked like James Franco? Probably and exaggeration, but it still made me incredibly jealous…I LOVE James Franco!!!
No, I believe that was Madd, who curiously has disappeared from these boards recently.
It’s too bad, she was really good people.
This looks so good. First time in a long time I have actually teared up during a trailer. Can’t wait.
wow. yeah. i totally just watered up. can’t wait for it.
I can’t even watch the trailer, so I don’t think I’ll be seeing the movie. I remember paging through Ralston’s book shortly after it came out, and literally going weak in the knees at the picture of the boulder with his arm sticking out beside it. No doubt, had that been me, I would not have the fortitude to do what he did.
Right now, Danny Boyle is one of the world’s greatest filmmakers.
Moreover, hopefully 127 Hours will shut up all those people who didn’t think Slumdog Millionaire deserved all those Oscars.
The quality of this movie won’t change the quality of Slumdog. I am expecting to like this movie based on the trailer, but I am one of those people who think Slumdog didn’t deserve its awards–good, not great.
What song is that at the end of the end of the trailer?
Band of Horses – The Funeral
Chills.
this is the film I’ve been waiting all year to see, but at the same time it’ll be the one film this year I will willingly pass up b/c i doubt my ability to actually sit through it…
I’m sure James is great- but I saw nothing remarkable or gaspworthy in this trailer. It just looks pedantic to me.
I’m sure Shane is great, but I saw nothing remarkable or gaspworthy in this post. It just looks pretentious to me.
There’s another p word for you. Come back, Shane! Come back!
DT, just because you don’t understand what Shane said doesn’t mean you need to get all immature and criticize him for it.
The trailer actually made me tear up…….thats not normal. Still, Im really looking forward to this.
OMG! I cried while watching this traler!. It is amazing. I was scared to watch it. BY far the best performances. James franco i amazing. I have to see this movie. I cant wait until Nov 5. OSCAR!! WIN FOR SURE!!
THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING
I can’t understand why many people talked about this movie. I even not interesting at all to watch this one.
