Oh, Little J. Taylor Momsen, who plays the raccoon-eyed Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, has managed to drum up some real-life drama probably worthy of a Gossip Girl blast. Project Runway‘s mentor-in-residence, Tim Gunn — who will guest star as himself in an October episode of The CW series — has been making the press rounds to promote his new book Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work, and, in the process, he’s taken the opportunity to slam Momsen for her behavior on set.
Earlier this week it was reported that Gunn said Momsen spent too much time on her BlackBerry and not enough time focusing on, you know, her job. (So, in other words, he was saying she should just make it work. Heh.) But instead of ending it there, his rants against Momsen continued on Lopez Tonight last night with George Lopez. Gunn seems truly pissed that he had to work with her, and essentially told the talk show host that the actress is ungrateful for the job she has. ”We were doing a different take for every single line that she had. And she acted annoyed at the crew, and the director, and the producer,” Gunn told Lopez. “I thought, the annoyance is going your way, not the other way.” (See video after the jump.)
Obviously, I wasn’t on set, so I don’t know what went down. But something tells me our dear ol’ Tim Gunn wouldn’t stir up trouble with a GG cast member unless it was true. And could the teen possibly peel off any more layers in her latest music video for her band The Pretty Reckless’ “Make Me Wanna Die“?
The most upsetting part of this is that Jenny will be back sooner rather than later.

Tim Gunn is especially critical when he sees people being inconsiderate. I absolutely believe him and think he is a true gentleman. I don’t watch GG, but I’ve seen Momsen and she looks like a 35 yr old instead of a teenager. What is going on with her? Where are her parents?
I love Tim Gunn. He isn’t afraid to ever speak his mind.

As much as I agree with Tim, this is not the first time within the past week that he’s done an interview and said these things about Taylor. This was not a one-off comment. He’s getting press for this and that is his true intention behind it. Again, I completely agree with what he’s saying- but for him to step out in MULTIPLE interviews and spout the same “gossip”, what he’s doing is almost as bad.
I guess I disagree. I wish more people would call out entitled celebrities, esp young ones who really haven’t had to put in ages of hard work to be successful (let’s face it, she’s lucky she was on a hit show). If she doesn’t want it spread in the biz that she’s a lazy worker, then maybe she should work (especially if you believe Gunn, which I do because he rarely says anything negative about others unless it is well deserved). Maybe I’m being naive though.
Look, I’m all for self expression, but Taylor Momsen is ridiculous. She badmouths everyone, dresses like a prostitute, and HAS to be on drugs-how else can you explain how she thinks “raccoon eyes” are a good look?
Yeah, I agree with Kate here. What if everyone took this so-called “high road” that Lauren mentions and never publically speak-up for the directors/crew members that are being mistreated? Sure, they would have taken the “high road” by not sounding “gossipy,” but then you’d have self-entitled brats running amock. There’s no excuse for being ungrateful and treating your co-workers badly. That behavior should be reported from the rooftop if need be.
I believe what Tim is saying, because of interviews given my Taylor herself. She seemed ungrateful for her job, doesn’t like being an actress, and wants to concentrate on her music career. She gave off a vibe that she didn’t like being on the set. I understand if someone doesn’t like their job, a lot of people don’t like their jobs, but most of these people suck it up and act professional. She has a lot of growing up to do.

The sad part is, this guy is just making himself look worse and worse. The guy is PATHETIC. We all know that Taylo has some attitude issues to work on but the fact that he is making it his mission to tear down a 17 year-old girl (for essentially acting like a 17-year-old girl) at every opportunity is just seriously pathetic. Tim, you seriously need to get a life because your 15 minutes of fame are up. I don’t even like Taylor but atleast I can say she has a disernable talent (or make that talents cause she’s actually quite good at singing and acting). If her co-stars have no problem with her (assuming Penn represents her cast) then you have no reason to, your time on GG is over. It’s becoming so obvious he’s tearing down a teenage girl just to get press for his book which is so freaking sad.

I’m offended that you would say Taylor is supposedly getting slammed for acting like a 17 year old girl…bull. I wasn’t anything like her when I was 17, and that was only a couple of years ago for me. I’m not saying that teenagers are angels..but Taylor goes above and beyond the behavior of a typical teenager. And come on, I don’t give a damn that she’s 17..part of her job is to make media rounds and be respectful and maybe even remotely likeable. She seems quite rude in most interviews and constantly has this aura of “f*** off!”..incredibly unprofessional

What tv show were YOU watching, pray tell? Tim Gunn is one of the best things about Project Runway — but then again, you’ve probably been living under a rock for the last eight years and don’t know this. He could read the phone book and I’d sit up and take notice.
Kylie: If she wants to act like a 17-year-old, fine. Let her do so. But she shouldn’t act like a 17-year-old when she’s being paid a LOT of money. If you wanna play in the adult pool, you’d better behave like an adult–or at least try to act like an adult.
You lost all credit by saying Momsen has “talent”. This girl is an average teen actress and a horrible “Singer”. Tim was speaking the TRUTH. Taylor is known for being a spoiled diva brat. And she isn’t being a “typical 17 year old”. 17 year olds work in stores to make money, and they know damn well that they cannot be texting during WORK. 17 is old enough to know when to stop being rude. She isn’t 12
I believe Tim. Anyone who has seen or read an interview from this girl knows that she’s a self-righteous little Bitch. I hope she doesn’t think it makes her cool or more of a “rock star” when she behaves this way. It’s such a big turn off and the sad thing is, she’s actually kind of talented (only when it comes to singing…she still can’t act).
Tim is always appropriate and for him to say this much means that he must have seen how nasty was the behaviour of that starlet.
