It’s September 2, 2010: 9/02/10. If you can’t attend the party in Beverly Hills to “celebrate the city with the zip” — hosted by Larry King, headlined by Natasha Bedingfield, and accompanied by the three-day Taste of Beverly Hills food and wine festival — celebrate 90210 Day with the rest of us, who only know the zip code thanks to Aaron Spelling and have already done a double fist pump in Jason Priestley’s honor. We suggest reading our oral history of Beverly Hills, 90210 published on the eve of its finale in 2000. Among the things you will learn: The pilot script was originally titled Class of Beverly Hills, which means we almost didn’t have this excuse to spend the morning YouTubing clips from the show 20 years after its premiere; at the height of the show’s success, Brian Austin Green used the name “Heywood Jablowmi” at hotels; and denying your love for this show is futile. “Once Jennie and I went to Vegas, and this girl who’d been drinking a heapload of alcohol attacked us and said we had the worst show and she hated us,” Tiffani-Amber Thiessen recalled. “We said, ‘You must be watching it because you know who we are.’ She actually apologized: ‘Yeah, I do love you, I’m sorry!’ She was just embarrassed that she actually watched the show for so many years.”
If you could watch any episode right now, which would you choose?

The Color Me Bad episode for sure!
That is my favorite as well. I get excited every time it pops up on the Soap Channel.
My favorite is when Kelly goes to DC to surprise Brandon and pursue their relationship. They were always my favorite couple.
YES!
The one where Kelly chooses herself over Dylan or Brandon. I would have went with Brandon.
Haha…”I choose me.” Classic.
Whatever episode it was that had this exchange:
Kelly: I am not a bimbo.
Brenda: Whatever you say, Kel. I was always thought that if it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck…
Kelly: Go to Hell!
hahaha
isnt that the episode where brenda and dean cain bump into kelly and dylan at the restaurant.
That’s the one! Another great Brenda/Kelly fight is the one where Kelly says, “We all have our crosses to bear.” Brenda follows it up with, “And our legs to uncross!”
How the CW and Soap Net dropped the ball on this I will never understand. Donna Martin Graduates FOR sure.
oh my god. so many favorites. inexplicably, i think my all-time favorite is the one where brenda has the breast cancer scare. followed closely by the one where they mock the real world.
I love when Brandon leaves the SATs to go be with her for the testing. GREAT moment.
My fav is the episode where Dylan got married and then the bride was murdered the next day. Very sad indeed.
totally- i just watched that one yesterday on soap net!!!
Ah, that was a classic. The kitten on the back of the motorcycle.
While watching those clips I kept expecting to hear studio laughter at the cheesiness.
The only episodes I’ll actually stop and watch are ones with Tiffani Thiessen. Valerie was always my favorite character.
Kelly after realizing she and Brenda have on the same dress for the Spring Dance and insists Brenda change her ensemble…
Kelly: “Brenda, I’m a Spring Princess!”
Brenda: “Kelly….I don’t give a damn”
LOL! Brenda was the ultimate!
The graduation episodes from highschool – the one when they have the senior luncheon, then they graduate, then they do that sleep-over/change of the Beverly Hills sign. That was a good time in 90210 history. I also like their first and second year of college, the development of Kelly and Brandon (who were WAY better than Kelly and Dylan – Dylan belonged with Brenda).
My FAVORITE episode for sure. I love at the luncheon where Steve reminds Andrea about “the egg” LOL. Steve: “I want to exchange this egg” Store Clerk: “Is there something wrong with the egg?” Steve: “Nothing. I want to exchange an egg… for information.” Store clerk: “I don’t know what you kids are on.” LOL
There are so many good ones- How do I choose? The one where Brandon goes to the “rave” and ends up getting high? Hunting for Color Me Badd in the hotel? This is like trying to choose a favorite child!
“Donna Martin Graduates” — no contest!
The slumber party episode… When they weren’t quite “characters” yet and parts of them were still being fleshed out.
In reruns, I have noticed what an insufferable, self righteous b*tch Kelly became in later years. Wow.
Karen-
So true! Her character changed SO much!!
The only time Kelly was bearable for me was when she was with Brandon…and of course, she didn’t end up with him!
Donna-”Are you gonna throw me up against the wall like in Portland? Or you are you going push me down a flight of stairs like in Palm Springs. Or do you only hit me when we’re out of town?” LOL
i love that one!! just saw that one on soap net earlier this week!!
I love the episode when Brenda totally goes over to the dark side listening to REM over and over again after Dylan picks Kelly.
