Glee will win, but (and I’m saying this as a Gleek) Modern Family really should win.
I’m extremely biased, but I really think Lost should win. If Lost and/or Matthew Fox wins, I might actually cry. Because I’m crazy like that.

I agree that Modern Family should win, but I also think that it WILL win. Glee was too close to being a drama, Modern Family is a much more traditional “comedy,” and it has a big heart as well. And I love Lost, but this season belongs to Dexter. This was the best season of any show that I have seen in a while.

I also think the tidal wave of hype will carry “Glee” to a win, even though it should really be “Modern Family.”

On the drama side, I’d obviously like to see “Lost” get it…but I gotta go with “Dexter”! (Probably because I JUST finished watching season 4 on DVD, and my socks are still blown off.)

I can’t shake the feeling that Glee will win since the media loves it, but Modern Family was consistently great and deserves it. I’d love for Dexter to finally get its due, but Lost is leaving and will probably get the send-off Emmy. Personally, I don’t think it deserves it as the most recent season was very rushed and uneven.

    modern family & lost please.

    • Sharlin

      I concur.

My two favorite comedies (Community and Parks & Recreation) were not even nominated, so I most just don’t want 30 Rock to win again for a below-par season.
Also, even though The Office also had a definitely uneven season, its submission episodes were mostly pretty great (including “Niagara,” “Murder,” and “The Lover”). So I can’t decide if I want The Office to win or not.

I am a big fan of Glee, but I don’t think it should win this year. I would gladly settle for Jane Lynch getting an Emmy. I have to go with Modern Family. While I would love a Dexter win, I think Lost will get the Emmy because of its run. It would rank 4th on my list for the year, but I do think it will get its due from the Emmy voters.

    • Carol

      Jane Lynch is a shoo-in.

  • Dan

Gotta go with Modern Family and Lost. Both were awesome this year. If Lost doesn’t win, I hope it’s Breaking Bad, Dexter or Mad Men in that order.

  • Becca

Modern Family is more of a comedy and had a great first year. Glee had a not so good second half.

I understand people wanting Lost to win but The Good Wife should really take home the prize.

“Lost” deserved the emmy it won for ’04. Season Six was the weakest, most uneven season. That’s the season in contention. Not the entire show. That said, I’d like to see “Breaking Bad” win. But if it goes to “Mad Men,” I’ll be satisfied.

Perfectly said. Thank you. The most recent season of Lost felt so rushed, uneven, and unfocused. Lost got the awards already for the seasons which were Emmy worthy. Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and Dexter all had excellent seasons and any of those wins would make me happy.

But the episodes submitted for Lost Season 6, especially “The End” were absolutely brilliant. With “The End” being one of the best finales I’ve seen.

      • tvgirl48

Which is so annoying about the Emmys. The voters are deciding based on an episode or two when TV should be judged by each season, since that’s what great about TV: the work ppl can do shaping the quality of a program through multiple episodes.

  • JMaG

    BREAKING BAD.

  • Kylie

I love Glee and want it to win but I think Modern Family will likely beat it seeing as it’s more of a traditional comedy.

  • dipshat

Come on what does anyone have against Curb? It’s just Seinfeld on HBO!

  • Mirrener

Am I the only one who finds it really strange that “Nurse Jackie” is the the comedy category? I love the show, and sure it has it’s funny moments, but I think it’d have a much better shot in drama (but still probably not a real shot against Mad Men).

    • justjack

You are NOT the only one! But it wouldn’t win against either Mad Men or Dexter (both of which should win over Lost IMO).

  • DW

    Breaking Bad and Glee!

  • Nick B

I gotta go with Modern Family for Best Comedy. Modern Family was so consistently funny this year. I wouldn’t be mad at all though if 30 Rock or Curb Your Enthusiasm won, especially Curb (normally, I would have also said The Office, but we all know it had a very uneven season). Glee is so wildly overrated. It’s a decent show, but it is far too inconsistent to be given this award.
And for Best Drama, I have to say Lost is my favorite of the bunch. Dexter, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men are all fantastic too, but Lost is still my favorite show, and I thought season 6 was great. I’d really love for it to win for its final season, but I won’t be upset if one of the other 3 shows I mentioned takes it. As long as True Blood and The Good Wife don’t win.

  • Kim

Totally rooting for Glee and True Blood. ^^
