Image Credit: George Napolitano/FilmMagic.com; FoxOn last night’s Access Hollywood, Billy Joel confirmed what Ryan Murphy hinted to us last April: That he was would gladly release his music to Fox’s runaway hit, Glee — and in fact, already has. “I said, ‘Yeah, go ahead, use my stuff,” said Joel. “I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?” Don’t, however, expect to see him dancing through the halls of McKinley High on your TV anytime soon. Joel’s more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy: “I’m just not a big TV actor type of guy. I’m a piano player,” he said.
Joel and Gleeks have already proven to be a winning combination — his signature song “Piano Man” was performed on the show last season by guest star Neil Patrick Harris, who earned an Emmy over the weekend for his work on the series.
So what Billy Joel songs are you most excited to hear on Glee, PopWatchers? I, for one, am pretty fired up for a little “We Didn’t Start the Fire.”

JUST today I said to my son, now PRESSURE could easily be used in a plot for Glee! Also, River of Dreams, the STRANGER would be great! “we all have a face that we hide away forever and take it out and show ourselves when everyone is gone”…that could be a fabulous show!

I’m watching the season on reruns right now so I don’t know what was already done but I’d love to hear Lullabye. Though speaking of Billys it would be awesome if they did Billy Idol.
They did a version of Dancing With Myself (sung by Artie) and also used the same song as a track in the same episode.

Y’know, some of us are straight and we LOVE the Glee coverage.
If Ryan Murphy really feels the need to do another tribute episode, Billy Joel would be a good choice. I’d be happy to hear the Gleeks take on any of his songs. (My favorite is probably “For the Longest Time.”)
I think that song would be my top pick! All the boys singing it acapella, with solos for Artie and Puck.

If they do “We Didn’t Start the Fire” it HAS to be set in History class — makes the most sense that way!

i could grab my ipod and list off hundreds of billy joel songs that they should do, but the first song that came to my mind was goodnight saigon. also tell her about it would be great. and if they did lullabye i’d probably cry while watching it because whenever i listen to the song i almost cry
