On last night’s Late Show, David Letterman really, really didn’t want his favorite fancy businessman friend Brian Williams to appear on The Tonight Show anymore. What is he, his mom? YOUR mom! After the break, watch Dave berate Bri-bri for associating with that squeaky-voiced weirdo. He will just not let up about those steam-powered cars! “HELP ME,” Williams mouthed to the camera. Eh, he loves it.
Anyone else think whenever Brian Williams appears on a talk show, it’s sort of like he’s auditioning for the host’s job?
Can you do a better Leno imitation than Letterman? With just a hint of effort, it should be easy!

I love it when Brian Williams is on a talk show–he’s more entertaining than a lot of comedians and actors.
I love Brian Williams, but always even more when he went on Conan. Can’t wait til November so he can do it again.
OK, can somebody tell me if they can see my posts? I haven’t been able to for weeks and I can’t figure out why.
Brian Williams and Jon Stewart were the best of them all. Just the way Brian says, “Jon” gets Stewart laughing. He’s a smart guy with great timing.
I was going to say the same thing! I caught Brian Williams on the Daily Show once and it was one of the funniest things I’ve seen. Ever.
He’s the scheduled guest tonight, so more of the best thing ever!
Brian Williams is better off as a comedian than a news anchor.
BW’s cameos on 30 Rock are also a high point.
You know, I love Dave and hate Leno, but seriously … Dave ripping on Leno is getting as old and stale as the Dancing Itos or Jaywalking.
Totally agree. Get some new material. The ripping on Leno is getting old and stale.
I don’t think it could ever get old to me.
I love Brian Williams. When he shows up on 30 Rock or SNL you can tell that he would much prefer to hang with the funny kids than the boring old news folks. I want him to host SNL next season!
I was literally laughing out loud during that whole clip. I love Dave and completely agree with what he was saying- Leno is as fake as could be. (And Brian Williams is also always cool.)
Williams has also been an excellent addition to when Jimmy Fallon and The Roots slow jam the news on Late Night. Love his dry humor.
Although Dave did take a few too many jabs at Leno (not that Jay doesn’t deserve it), at least the other half of his segment with Willams was real talk about serious issues particularly Haiti and hunger. Enjoyed it.
Of course Leno is curiously and routinely beating Dave in the ratings again
Brian Williams is the bomb! Its nice to see someone in the media with the right amount of self-awareness and a grasp on what their job actual is behind the desk.
I wish Williams would go on Lopez Tonight – ’cause that would be the BEST!
Brian Williams is my favorite fancy businessman too! He makes everything he’s on at least 50% funnier. SNL, Conan, Fallon, 30 Rock, The Daily Show…
“Nightly Rules!”
I personally find Letterman and his bald headed lap dog completely annoying. I think that he is just mad because he is no longer the #1 late night host. He should just retire already and let Craig Ferguson take his job.
Funny when one rich disconnected guy rips another rich guy for being rich and disconnected!!
You may or may not care for Leno’s voice or presentation, but he obviously puts a LOT more preparation into his show and genuine interest in his guests. He would NEVER devote 5 minutes of his time to ripping Dave. The bottom line is that Leno is a truly decent man and Letterman is a Class “A” horse’s patoot.
