Sex and the City‘s famously wacky fashion visionary Betsey Johnson will serve as the guest judge on this Thursday’s episode of Project Runway, which only makes us wonder what the heck took so long. Who else is as made for TV? That said, it does sound like the perfect challenge for her to sit in judgment of: making high design out of party-store favors. It won’t go too well for everyone, it seems, given that the Lifetime promo includes Michael Kors declaring one dress fit for a “transvestite flamenco dancer at a funeral,” but we love any garment that can coax that phrase into being in the world.
You’re up, PopWatchers: What party favors would you fashion together in hopes of impressing Betsey Johnson? Use the confetti and streamers thoughtfully, and make it work.

Not being a designer myself, I would probably opt for the easy stuff, such as the little bags they give out, and maybe mylar balloons. You know someone will go for the tablecloths and napkins route….
“Sex and the City‘s famously wacky fashion visionary” is actually Patricia Field. She and Betsy Johnson are probably easily confused but Pat Field was the costume designer on SATC, not Betsy Johnson.
*But I can’t spell Betsey so, there you go.
They don’t really check facts here.
I agree that they should have had Betsey Johnson on years ago with Project Runway. She has a very distinctive look and is not afraid to throw around the crazy in her collections. I am not even sure that she can help fill the 90 minute shows, but I am excited for her to try!
Betsey Johnson on SATC? I think you’re referring to Patricia Field. EW needs to improve their fact-checking!
Also, Betsey Johnson was a guest judge on Project Runway in Season 1.
She was also a judge o Top Model!
Please, Betsey Johnson is a force to be reckoned with and does not need you giving her fake credentials of Sex and the City! PLEASE fix that!!!!
When she first appeared from behind the screen, I thought she was Tina Turner.
