  • The view looks nice for The View‘s Sherri Shepherd: The host will play two roles in One for the Money, the Katherine Heigl-led thriller based on the first book in Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. [Variety]
  • Logo has acquired syndication rights to Nip/Tuck. [Deadline]
  • MTV has enlisted writers Mark Hammer, Matt Pelfrey, and Monica Padrick for the U.S. version of British teenage drama Skins. In lieu of a writing sample, the trio was asked to build a bong out of office supplies. [THR]

    two lulas? no.

  • darclyte

I just hope that Sherri’s character won’t have to know if the Earth is round or not.

  • Cristiane

Katherine Heigl is going to play Stephanie Plum? Oh HELL no.

  • laylagalise

Ummm… there’s only one Lula. And I read they were filming the movie in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is not Jersey! First they cast Heigl (not good casting), then they’re putting in two Lula-like characters and not filming in Jersey.

Completetly agree. I think castig all wrong for this movie.
Evangeline Lilly (lost) would have been a great Stephanie Plum and Neicy Nash a good Lula

    • Leslie

She is probably playing Lula’s prostitute friend Jackie as well as Lula.

  • lisa

Question about the 2 “Lula” characters….correct me if im wrong, but in the book “One for the Money” didnt Lula have a friend with the same profession? (I think her name was Jackie)

    • Leslie

You are correct – she had a friend named Jackie and Jackie has shown up in other Plum books as well.

Way to ruin a good book. I can’t stand Heigl or Shepherd. I’m out!

  • TaMara

*Sherri Shepherd (“The View”) has been cast in dual roles for the Katherine Heigl crime thriller “One for the Money” for Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. For both roles, she’ll play prostitutes with hearts of gold.*
WTF? This movie just goes from bad to worse, doesn’t it?

  • Joann

Too bad Janet Evanovich doesn’t have a say in this — they are taking a VERY successful book series and creating a monstrosity.

  • AW

I will NOOOOOT be seeing this movie! Way to ruin it!

  • Suz

Sooooo disappointing! Heigl as Stephani…NOOOOOOO – Jaime Lyn Siegler would have been better. Morelli some Irish guy…hell nooo. Ranger, seriously! I was always hoping for a moving from this wonderful series, and now I don’t even want to see it! Sherri as Lula, well she needs to gain some of the weight back! Just sayin…Debi Mazur would have been a great Connie, but she did not get the part and was very disappointed. Poor Janet! They have ruined her books. Pittsburgh instead of New Jersey…there are no words! I hope the movie bombs! I will just keep reading, and picture the characters in my head!

I’m keeping an open mind, actors can sometimes surprise you, after all that is their job.

  • Terry

I have ALWAYS seen Sherri Shepard in that role. I’m thrilled. And I think O’Mara and Sunjata will be great. Heigl-well she’s a good actress so lets wait to pass judgement. It’s make believe folks, they cast actors to portray fictional (Italian) characters and they usually don’t film in the city in which the movie is based. It’s pretend!!

  • Lisa

How about Sandra Bullock and Queen Latifa???? I would love to see them do this book-to-movie! This movie is going to be a huge disappointment after such wonderful books.

  • Beverly

Sandra Bullock would have been the perfect Stephanie, but I will hold judgement until I see movie and hope for best………….

  • marilyn prewitt

Two prostitutes by the same actress? Please don’t ruin these highly entertaining books by taking too much poetic license with the stories. These books are perfect as they are. If it “ain’t broke – don’t try to fix it.” I don’t want to be disappointed! Just look at what writers did to Horse Whisperer! (Total ruin)
