Image Credit: Mario Perez/ABCIt looks like we will be seeing Desmond Hume in another life after all. TV Guide reports that Lost actor Henry Ian Cusick has signed on for at least two episodes of Law & Order: SVU. According to SVU producer Neal Baer, Cusick will be playing graphic artist Erik Weber, and will engage in some “flirtation” with Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay). As The Island’s ultimate romantic, this makes total sense…but what about Penny?!
I’m happy that one of my favorite Losties has gotten another high-profile gig now that the show is over, and making a stop at the Law & Order set almost seems like a rite of passage in Hollywood these days. But after portraying such a widely beloved character on Lost, this news begs the question: Will Cusick be — gasp! — playing the bad guy? (Not the first time we would have seen it — Ian Somerhalder played one creepy SVU baddie pre-Lost back in 2003.)
Does this news make you happy, PopWatchers? What kind of role would you like to see Henry Ian Cusick in next? Doctor Who?

‘Lost’: What should the cast do next?

I dont really watch the show, but he was one of my favorites on Lost, so I say ‘Ay, Brutha!!’
Michael Emerson (Ben) also played a bad guy on SVU
He also gave a fantastic performance on Criminal Intent.
Emerson’s villian on SVU still creeps me out!! He was great!
Don’t forget his creepy role on the Practice playing a stalker (i believe) to Eleanor (Camryn Manheim). He was awesome in that role.
His prison training video was prolly his creepiest.
I haven’t watched SVU in two years because the show has become a joke but I may just have to watch those episodes.
Me too, exactly!
I was just about to write the same thing. It’ll be interesting to see him playing a different character than I’m used to…
Thinking the same thing also.
Anyone who looks this much like Eddie Vedder is welcome on my TV anytime! I also gave up on SVU because it was becoming ridiculous, but I’ll certainly watch these episodes.
It’s really absurd. I was watching an episode having to do with dogs or something and Doc Warner came into the room and conversation saying, “Well, take a bite out of this.” Who writes this crap? NOBODY talks like that. SVU is in the toilet. It’s gone the way of CSI Miami, and that is pretty bad.
Yep, if you love Eddie V you love HIC as Desmond
Both hot!!!
I am in, although admittedly I did not enjoy HIC when he replaced Mandy Patinkin in Dead Like Me.
The Ian Somerhalder ep of SVU was horrifyingly awesome – back when the show was really good.
That’s because no one should replace Mandy Patinkin. I’m still a little upset at the guy who plays David Rossi (whose name is escaping me… Joe Montenga?) and it’s been what? 5 seasons?
What a waste.
I always saw bigger and better things for Henry.
I know me too! He is too good for this show, total waste of talent. This is a huge step down for him and probably a major misstep in his career.
I remember watching Ian Somerhalder’s episode and yelling “No! Boone!!!”.
I agree that Henry Ian Cusick deserves better (I haven’t watched SVU in years, it’s too ridiculous) but hey, it’s a start.
I’m looking forward to this!
Elizabeth Mitchell, as a brunette, was on an epsiode pre-Lost as well. I’ll definitely be tuning in for HIC’s episodes (swoon).
YUM YUM YUM CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS HUNK BACK ON THE AIR. NOW IF WE CAN ONLT GET JOSH (YUM) HOLLOWAY BACK ON AIR.SWOONING RIGHT NOW
I’m still hoping they will spin off of Lost Sawyer & Miles as detectives. I would kill to see that become a show.
Aw, crap. Now I’m gonna have to actually watch “SVU”. The things I do for that man…
LOL Babs…what you said is a total riot!
Mind if I use it as a headline on HIC’s fan website?

Yes, puleeze make him the next Doctor Who!!!!! He would be soooooooooo awesome!
give him a role in V with Juliet.
Crap, I don’t even like SVU anymore. This is gonna be like when I had to sit through about six episodes of awful-later-season Smallville to see James Marsters, isn’t it. (And Marsters wasn’t even that good.)
I would like to next see Henry Ian Cusick in the role of my husband. He can draw on his fine acting skills to pretend that he isn’t aware of the husband I may already have.
We made need to fight this one out.
hahahahaha
Where is the Like button for this post?
Thank you … that was laugh-out-loud funny. (Perhaps you should send your husband on a cruise or something just in case.)
Hahaha – very funny comment Katja! Still laughing and couldn’t agree more! (husband I may already have – LOL!!!) Don’t care if that man calls me “Brutha”… just CALL already!
