'The Bachelorette': Fifth of July fireworks sponsored by Jake and Vienna!

bachelor-jakeImage Credit: ABC There were a lot of lessons you could take home from tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, the latter third of which was devoted to a tense, tearful blowout between last season’s Bachelor Jake Pavelka and his very ex-fiance Vienna Girardi. First and foremost, no person capable of/interested in experiencing real human emotion (or even a close approximation) would ever seek to find a mate on reality television. But we already knew that, didn’t we?* More revelatory were the tidbits we learned about the unhappy couple: Jake is good at memorizing talking points, but fails miserably when it comes to masking the barely suppressed rage pulsating along his jawline. Vienna has already rebounded and found a groovy kind of love — with the sound of her own rapid-fire, discordant voice. And neither one of these petulant, camera-consuming demons is about to go quietly back to that good day job.

All that said, however, if I had to score tonight’s verbal boxing match, I’d have to give the heavyweight famewhoring belt to Vienna (and I mean that in as complimentary a way as I can say about anything that occurred on my television tonight between the hours of 8 and 10 p.m. ET).

Let me put it this way: I’m not sure if Vienna was ever “here for the right reasons” — as participants of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise are so fond of saying — but at the very least, during tonight’s interview she was able to recount specific anecdotes of her “life” together with Jake, and point to concrete examples of mistakes that he’d made in their “relationship.” Let’s review: We had Jake’s hurling of the GPS during their drive through Los Angeles, Jake’s meltdown when Vienna suggested shifting the position of their bedroom furniture, Jake’s rage that “a gay guy named Todd” (niiice!) had been in their apartment, and some hard-to-follow bit about the cross-country travel itinerary for a very sick puppy. (No, I’m not talking about Kasey, I mean an actual puppy!) As Vienna so snappily put it: “Can we get a polygraph? ‘CAUSE YOU WOULD FAIL IT!” That moment was brought to you by the word “snap!”

On the other hand, Vienna’s explanation for why she’d chosen to stay in L.A. was about as natural as her hair color. It’s all well and good that she’s now working as a marketing exec — I’ll pause here to let you laugh that one out — for a hair-product company that helps people with cancer. (Vienna! She’s an angel of compassion and commerce!) But I’d have had more respect less contempt for her if she’d just ‘fessed up and said, “Look, since I’m not marrying a guy with a commercial airline pilot’s income, I’ve gotta pay the rent the best way I know how.”

Jake, for his part, seemed to be channeling Terry O’Quinn in The Stepfather, or Terry O’Quinn as Lost‘s Mr. Smokey. His mouth set in an unwavering line, his eyes boilingeth over with fury, he spoke like a man who had come to a streetfight armed with a half-dozen vague and pre-rehearsed anecdotes, and was shocked to discover his adversary was shooting arrows coated in the poison of “40% truth.” I half-expected the dude to announce to Vienna that “Any further criticism of Jake** will result in your immediate strangulation.” Indeed, other than that winning bon mot about Vienna being “like a tabloid,” Jake came off as relentlessly creepy: The way he addressed all his answers to Chris Harrison (not Vienna), the way he spoke about Vienna like a disappointed boss rather than a scorned lover (how about griping she’d participated in an “unauthorized interview”!?), and the way he chanted the words “undermines,” “emasculates,” and “disrespects” like he’d spent two sleep-deprived weeks in a new-age spa praying that his failed fake TV relationship wouldn’t cost him any awesome future gigs on Drop Dead Diva. By the time he shouted “Be quiet while I’m talking!,” I wondered if Vienna fled the scene in tears because of the harshness of his words, or the eeriness of what was going on behind his eyes.

Two final notes: You know that every single former and future Bachelor participant wondered aloud “How did she pull off something that amazing?” after Jake accused Vienna of scoring five tabloid covers in two days.

And as for Jake’s summation — “Unfortunately that is what one of our arguments looks like” — are any of you wishing now that maybe, just maybe, you hadn’t experienced such a splatteringly ugly dose of “reality”? Sound off in the comments below, and to get the whole shebang on tonight’s Bachelorette proceedings, log on to EW.com in the early morning to read Jennifer Armstrong’s hilarious recap. [SPOILERS AHEAD!] Jennifer will have all the deets on who stayed, who went home***, and who disrespected a totally adorable mod-squad dress almost as badly as she treated her suede boots while courting creepy Jake (UPDATE: Click over to read Jennifer’s Bachelorette recap). Plus, don’t miss Chris Harrison’s Bachelorette blog post about tonight’s proceedings. Not to be missed!

That Jake person is such a famewhoring joke What will he do next to try to stay in the spotlight? He is totally disgusting.

    • Roma

Jake has a big problem after this interview if he really expects to get continual acting work; she seemed way more believable than he did. If this is the best acting he can do, he needs to go back to being an airline pilot.

      • jagr721

        >she seemed way more believable than he did

She did, indeed. I have a call into her agent tomorrow for the perfect role: “Shrill, Batsh*t Harpie #3″. She was MADE to play this role!

      • Viennafan

Vienna may be young and seeking the glam life, but she is SO much smarter and more interesting than Jake. Jake seems so scary to me…he is creepy incarnate! When he said “What American male wants to love on a woman who undermines him,” I felt like shouting, MOST! ha.

      • jagr721

Viennafan – you may laugh at Jake for saying that but no man wants a screaming woman preventing him from finishing a single sentence, then who plays the victim when the guy tells her to stop interrupting him. Just common sense. We’re not dealing with that complex a subject here.

      • alice

everyone keeps talking about his job as a pilot. first of all from what i understand he works for a regional carrier not mainline. having worked in hr for a regional i know what these guys get paid. let it be said jake made more by doing the bachelor then he would have flying then he would have made flying for 5-6yrs and that is as a captain. secondly when he said he flew last week that had to be a private plane. there is no way an airline would allow him to fly with all of the time he has taken off for all these reality shows. he would need to go through alot of recurrent training. even the pilots that landed the usairways plane on the hudson had to go through extensive recurrent training after being off for just a few months. he is probably on furlough and that is why he has so much time on his hands.

      • Nobody

Yeah right, Vienna is smart. If she is so intelligent, then explain what a “poly-o-graph” is? The girl is living proof that having a college degree doesn’t automatically make a person smart.

      • :)

SOOOO FUNNY! This show is so ridiculous. Jake is an even bigger moron than Vienna. When will these famewhores (Jake and Ali) realize that they will never have acting careers? They are both shitty actors.

As for Jagr who is obsessively responding to every anti-Jake post, you sound like a psycho. You must be Jake, his mom, or his boyfriend. Or one of those weird chicks who thinks this show is real and Jake is the “All-American Pilot Hero”. Hilarious!

      • L.T.

One has to keep in MIND that Jake made Vienna! If Jake had chosen a different person… This would not have happened…but if you think about it…..Maybe this was all PLANNED! hmmmmmmmmmm !

      • Michael

jagr721…the first problem is that Jake doesn’t quite know what “undermine” means. He occasionally used the word correctly in context.

More importantly, if Vienna was constantly emasculating him, undermining him and making his life miserable, why did he stay in the relationship for 6 months? I hate to stereotype, but men like Jake do not stay in those types of relationships unless they are getting something out of it. Since we know it wasn’t sex, he was merely capitalizing on the fame it brought him. I know how men think, so I can’t help but believe Vienna. What I find hilarious is that Jake was coached extensively while Vienna was not and he came across looking like the horse’s ass.

      • gina

        Agree-he is a jerk and a liar

      • OMGq

Going into last night I was totally anti-Vienna and not so much pro-Jake but I kinda felt like I was more on his side. Not anymore. He is a complete D-bag and ended up looking like a complete JERK. Not only did it show that he is a HORRIBLE actor, but it also showed what a complete emotional DOLT he is. Good for you Vienna – I would have left about 5 minutes before you did.

      • OMGq

OH – and PS – the other thing this little interview did was show what a complete TOOL Chris Harrison is. OMG – he was so not equipped to be conducting this interview – he just seemed like a total puppet for ABC and this franchise which I guess is EXACTLY what he is.

      • jagr721

“OMG. Why is jagr posting all the time?” Well, I’ve noticed some people post over and over again here – and just change their Name so it appears different people are posting. Let me just say this: women who are defending Vienna really only fit one type. They are not happily married, they are likely not even in a relationship. They are the kind crying at bars over their past relationships, blaming everyone but themselves — they are the women men have passed over. For a very good reason.

      • B Ro

I think perhaps I have a unique perspective because I didn’t watch any of this season and only saw these 2 on TV tonight. With that in mind, I second/third/whatever the comments about Jake being very controlling and almost scary. I’m a divorce attorney, and his personality reminds me of the guys and gals that I do see who are abusive–emotionally, physically, whatever. Very much self-absorbed: “you undermine me” and then goes off into a rant about himself. That being said, Vienna is no prize herself but I wonder how much of that is her just being young and immature more than anything else. The interrupting thing would drive me batty as well but at least she appeared genuine. All very interesting stuff.

      • Janequoia

@Nobody: Oh, c’mon. She called it a “poly-o-graph” instead of a polygraph. I’ll give her the benefit of doubt considering the circumstances. At least she didn’t call it a polymeter or lithograph. I wouldn’t use that as a barometer of her intelligence. Besides, a college degree and intelligence are not mutually inclusive.

      • Petra

Vienna was believable-He was not-And not a good actor obviously-No producer is going to want someone with his baggage and attitude on their TV shows or movies-He stinks-Unless Kate Gosselin is looking for a man-but they are equally as controlling and have hateful facial expressions

      • Becky

@jagr721, Just FYI, I’m on Vienna’s side and have been on her side even before she ended up with the last rose. I do see that she’s bubbly and not someone people like you want to respect, and even if she was acting, you should at least see that she’s doing a hell of a lot better than Jake is. Bubbly doesn’t mean you can’t fall in love. Potentially dumb also doesn’t make you an automatic liar. And to add to that, my opinions stem from having a very loving relationship with my significant other whom I’m very happy with. So please don’t fool yourself into thinking people who are on Vienna’s side are unhappy or can’t hold onto a man. More likely, you may hate Vienna as much as you do because you see bits of yourself in her.

      • KRibbons

Honestly, I’m pretty sure Jake is a certifiable sociopath. No lie.

    • LOL

No one cares about this crap.

      • sara

apparently you do since posting no one cares about this crap on every thread appears to be your only hobby.

      • EJ

People who say this is crap should not be reading or commenting on this “crap.”

      • BigBird

Then why are you bothering to comment?

      • Even Funnier

LOL! You are sooo right. Yet, these snappy comebacks crack me up even more. All 3 are the same comments I read on any board anytime anyone suggests what a waste of time these show’s are. Two ignorant fame whores and tehir even more ignorant followers. I love stopping by to see what our poor country has become.

      • eugene

I care and I care deeply.

      • Reality

Yeah I love the “you must care if you comment” clowns – nice try at the turn-the-tables logic but, wrong. I once watched this show for like 2 minutes, and it was horrific. I tried to jam a pen in my eye, but that didn’t help because I could still hear it. I could actually feel my brain jellifying as I lost IQ points. Finally, I started to chant “Go Jets go” — that’s when I managed to change the channel. Thank God.

      • sara

muahaha, me and my fiance have been saying “don’t undermine me” and “stop interupting me” since we saw this. It’s so great they entertain us so much. Anyways, we totally agreed Jake is a d*ck and Vienna is the victim of his d*cky-ness

      • reap

i think they are going to get back together.

      • Bluejay

No one cares and I can only watch the show for two minutes ’cause it sucks so bad. Though, I’ll take the time to hunt through the web and read articles about the show I don’t like or care about. I’ll even take the time to read through the comments. Next, I’ll try to make people feel small for the exact same thing that I am doing. I’ll watch a show that I don’t like, one I’ve determined is horrific, then I’ll write really lame-a$$ comments about it and the viewers. Hmmm, I think I’ll continue reading the comments and write more weak rejoinders. I rock, can’t you tell?

      • wakeforce

31 pages and counting say you’re wrong! Some people tskr this crap very seriously.

      • mary q contrary

I don’t watch the show, and I’m not gonna harp on anyone who does, but here is my two cents: Why, oh why, when we could be looking at Vienna’s wonk-eyed, large-schnozzed gorgeousness, are we shown yet another picture of frozen yogurt up there’s confused smirk? Man I’m tired of looking at that guy. Give me more Vienna! She’s an angel.

      • Brenda

Eugene – great answer! It made me laugh.

    • Hildy

That pic Slezak posted of Jake is hilarious. His lips look like the Joker in Batman.

      • Andi

Hildy, lol, you noticed that too?! I actually was thinking that from other photos of Jake in which he has that typical big smile that looks so phoney – and I immediately thought of the Joker in Batman! Creepy!!

      • Hildy

Totally! We should call him The Jaker! Heh

      • kahuna

        @ Hily

        The Jaker! Priceless!

      • gina

He obviously has a temper-He had all he could do to keep it together-His jaw was so tight and he even said he yanked the GPS and threw it after Vienna tried to use it. Look I can understand Vienna wanting to use a GPS-I am a more visual person than listening to directions and absorbing them-He is an ARSE, MEAN AND SELF ABSORBED….

      • Liz

Everyone at EW always picks the most awkward and hilarious pictures to post. The new bachelorette has been giving them a lot of choice shots. I think Jake is a moron and based on his short fuse during the interview I would believe he was abusive,.

      • Dannie

The picture of Jake…lets see in my opinion someone said on this blog he is a Mean Little Man-I think he actually is a MEAN HATEFUL ABUSIVE LITTLE MAN

    • MJ

I agree that Jake looked like a moron, but really, who wouldn’t snap when she was interrupting every 2 seconds. Chris Harrison would ask a question to Jake and before he could get three words out Vienna was interrupting. Gotta be frustrating. But Jake did look like a three year old whose mommy took away his favorite truck.

      • Fed Up

Look-Vienna was nervous, but telling the truth-She was intimidated by him- you could tell-She showed all the signs of being mentally controlled and mentally abused.I believe her story-She looked at Chris, Jake and the Camera when she was talking-HE DID NOT-He also has 4-5 different reasons why he supposedly broke up with her—NOT-I can tell she broke up with him-AS far as being a pilot-his co-worders said he hasn’t worked in a long while and they don’t even like him-Tenley is even happy she was not picked

      • Sheila

OK… we got it Fed Up, you are Vienna’s only friend. lol
Totally agree with you MJ. Her neverending interruptions reminded me of those unintelligible women on a Maury Povich “Who’s My Baby Daddy” episode. They think just because they are talking over you, it makes them right. However, they both exhibited childish behavior. There’s no defending Either of these white trash, fame wh*re wannabes.

      • jen

vienna did seem really emotional and nervous, but jake came across like a freaky robot. he was so calculated that i actually laughed when he finally got pissed off enough to yell “let me talk!” or some such thing. but then he went right back into robot mode. i never liked vienna during the show, but i definitely feel bad that she got picked and has had to live through 6 months of hell with that jackass.

      • Dannie

Look he has been mentally controlling Vienna for almost a year-She finally got to speak and I believe she spoke the truth-His stories keep changing and what a temper he has—It is obvious…..I would not want to be an actress and work with him…

      • RaRa

I agree, Fed Up. Vienna is no prize, and it’s a terrible habit, talking over other people, but I agree with the other commentor who said her main fault is that she is young and immature. One day she’ll look back at some of her behaviors and attitudes and be embarrassed. Jake, on the other hand, will never admit he was anything other than the “dashing young pilot victimized by a rude, undermining, overbearing hussy.”

      • to Sheila

‘those unintelligible women on a Maury Povich “Who’s My Baby Daddy” episode.’ — You are so right! Funny stuff.

      • Diane

Maybe if Vienna would have been able to tell her side seperately, like Jake was allowed to do, then she may not have interuppted him so much. By the way, I’m still waiting to hear Jake’s apology to Vienna for the things that he did wrong in the relationship. How come he wasn’t asked to apologize like Vienna was? I know she walked off but he still could have said he was sorry for his part. Very one-sided interview.

    • Idle

Has Chelsie, his partner from DWTS, made any comments in all this? He was such a creep around her and she looked really uncomfortable with him – something she’s never been with any of her other partners.

      • Fed Up

Yeah-there was a reasaon why Chelsea was so uptight in practices and even in the DWTS practice clips you could tell and actually see Jake yelling and trying to be controlling to Chelsea-He is a controlling-mean-liar

      • evelyn

Chelsie was interviewed and said 1) she saw it coming; and 2) she thought Vienna was a nice girl.

It was known on set that Chelsie couldn’t stand Jake.

      • Purplicious

I was just thinking about that. He called Chelsie disrespectful when she wouldn’t kiss his @$$. Seems he just has a problem with women having a mind of their own.

      • reina

Vienna definitely was more believable than Jake. She seemed emotionally invested and he seemed aloof and detached from the situation. He did not seem to care. His responses were definitely rehearsed. All along he had seemed like such a “great guy”.

    • Topher

Did we watch the same show? I went into the interview thinking ha ha Jake that’s what you get for not picking Tenley and left it going man, I’m sorry Jake I didn’t realize she was THAT bad.

      • Liz

I went into this thinking the same thing but at the end I just thought, “Thank goodness Tenley got away. She really dodged a bullet on that one.”

      • mer

Yeah, she is that bad, but that was obvious from the show. But Jake, eek, he crossed the line from fake to just plain abusive husband creepy. I don’t care how much of a drama queen she is, he is down right disrespectful and had no problem treating her like he was scolding a child. I think that was more doomed to fail than it looked like from the show.

      • Me

Vienna is annoying but Jake struck me as awfully creepy and controlling in that interview. Hints of this did come across in DWTS when he would tell Chelsie that she spoke to him in a way that was “very very disrespectful.” I think he’s not comfortable with women telling him what to do, see that as “undermining him” which isn’t always what’s intended!

      • Barb

His attitude towards women was obvious in the way he treated his DWTS partner, Chelsie. During one rehearsal, he tried to change her choreography and when she demurred, he pointed his finger at her and yelled, ‘I’m not asking you, I’m telling you!’ And Chelsie was his pro teacher!
He strikes me as the type of guy who would insist his wife have dinner on the table at 6 sharp, and if it was even a minute late, give her a black eye.

      • catgirl

        Well said, mer.

    • Reality

This show is the cultural equivalent of the Gulf Oil Spill.

      • R3

Well, maybe this the last we’ll see of these two “washed-up” tar balls. With any luck the tide will carry them back out to the deep.

    • Nobody

Vienna said “poly-o-graph”… there’s solid proof that a college degree doesn’t make a person intelligent.

      • JMB

As a college professor, I can tell you that many, many students do barely enough to pass but don’t actually learn anything. “Smart” and “educated” are different things: one is innate, and the other requires effort. I see many students who are smart but don’t know anything because they make no effort, and I see many students who are of average intelligence who know a great deal because they do make effort. If you were an employer, which one would you rather hire?

      • R3

On the other hand, correct pronunciation isn’t always an indicator. Some people actually have a fairly extensive vocabulary but just can’t get a word out correctly to save their lives. Similar phenomenon as some reasonably intelligent, often well-educated, people who can pronounce and use words correctly but cannot spell. Just sayin’.

    • circle

Jake’s name is Joke (not Jake). He has problems communicating in real life. He is holding back everything to Vienna. This must freaks her out. Vienna realized he was not real for her and she had to take steps to get out of the relationship before it becomes more destructive. Will you date a guy who is not holding, cuddling, kissing, or try to be intimate with you physically, if not emotinally. WILL YOU?

    • The Underminer

all I know is Jake should fire his publicist for thinking this meeting was a good pr move for him.

      • R3

I’m sure he was paid for it, and another camera is just too much for him to pass by.

    • Cami

      Michael,
Thank you for writing what should be obvious to Most about the fame wh*res who are Jake and Vienna. Unfortunately, there are still those that are falling for some of the cr*p these two tried to sell last night. Neither Jake nor Vienna had any redeeming values. The entire show reminded me of that new commercial that labels itself ‘overly overdramatization’. They should’ve labeled the show “unbelievably bad overdramatization… no seriously, the acting is SO bad it’s Unbelievable!”

    • wakeforce

Reports are saying now that Vienna used Vicks Vapor Rub and tear-inducing eye drops to produce crying. The news is the second blow to Giraldi after pictures floating around that showed her and Greek actor kissing while she was still with Jake! now, don’t you women all feel STOOPID? And, don’t bother responding becuse I am DONE! teehee!

      • R3

Using Vicks Vapor Rub or eye drops to induce crying? If you mean during the interview, then that’s just dumb. She would have to whip it out and drop it in right during the conversation; otherwise, her eyes would be tearing up through the whole interview. And that isn’t the same as crying.

    • Betty

I can not believe people are taking sides on this issue when it is so apparent they are both FAME WHORES and they both played the game for fame throughout the show and afterward. Jake the control freak chose the shrew he knew he could get rid of soon after the show and Vienna, the cross-eyed verbose dunce, was looking for fame, fortune and a sugar daddy who adored her and every little stupid thing she said and did. Whether Verbose Vienna was telling the truth or not, it doesn’t matter because no normal man would put up with her constant bull*. One last note – Ali is a tool. They could not have picked a more insecure, clueless, mindless loser for the bachelorette.

    • Kim R

He’s going to have to pull a “Kate”. Kate was really disliked at the beginning of their break-up & Jon was receiving all the sympathy. But when Jon started acting poorly in public & in the tabloids, Kate started going on shows & gained sympathy with viewers. Now we see she has begun to turn things around for her & has a show back on TLC. Jake as already gone on DWTS…now he is guesting on DDD. What is next? I am not watching him OR Kate. My 2 cents. :)

    • Jenny

      agree-He is sickening

  • Norm

This was awesome!! Cringe-inducing. And, yes, to use the show’s signature word: AMAZING! Vienna Sausage will do Penthouse and Jake will do gay porn.

    • RealityTVWatchingWhore

      Totally hilarious! Best comment ever!

    • LKB

ha ha ha. Vienna Sausage!! Love that! Hilarious. OMG! I got a visual of Vienna doing a sausage, while Jake does that weird squinty face he loves to make.

      • Fed Up

Vienna got a marketing job with a childrens cancer charity folks-I think you are all of base here-And look at all the other woman who has done Playboy/Penthouse-It is not big deal anymore-People wear less on the red carpet and in singing and dancing shows

      • R3

Um, I hate to correct you, Fed Up, but being in Penthouse would be a MUCH bigger deal than Playboy. Penthouse is extremely graphic and smutty. Playboy has some air of respectability to it.

    • allyv

      freaking hilarious!

    • jagr721

Now…. are you saying Jake is gay out of “wishful thinking” or because he didn’t want to sleep with that cross-eyed, squealing pig? Which one is it?

      • mer

I wouldn’t say gay, just that he hates women. But he did propose to the cross-eyed squealing pig.

      • Kate

Hehe, I’ve decided my favourite part of reading these message boards are the posts by people so desperate to “prove” their point that they comment incessantly on any post with which they disagree. Awesome! Thanks jagr721, for reminding me that while I occasionally get sucked into watching this tripe, at least my happiness doesn’t depend on strangers on a message board agreeing with me about a reality dating show.

      • R3

to Kate – I haven’t read anything objectionable by jagr721. I thought he/she was making a valid reply. Lighten up. He/she is enjoying the message boards, just as I am (while I should be working).

    • SFinSF

Oh, yes — this is the BEST prediction!

    • Hilda Von Toot

Sign me up for the latter!!

    • Robbyrob

Only if his co-star is Todd!

      • max

        haha

      • nancy

        Very witty Robbyrob!

      • R3

That went over my head. Who is Todd?

    • kross

lmao..I could see Jake doing gay porn! What a big douchbag he has turned into. I’m ashamed to say he’s from the same state as me.

    • ptk

Playboy already said they do Not want Vienna to pose for them. At least someone out there in meia wh*redom has taste!

      • catgirl

But Penthouse would take her in a heartbeat.

    • Sharkbait

Not sure how well a guy like Jake, who’s afraid of a woman wielding a tape measure, is going to do in any kind of porn. That little argument they had about the tape measure tells us everything we need to know — he just doesn’t measure up, people! Ha, ha!

  • mccliza

Jake is a world-class jerk. Any man who has to resort to statements like, “Why are you raising your voice?” and “There she goes again interrupting me,” when a woman is justifiably furious at him is the ultimate passive-aggressive, smug, and probably latently violent a-hole.

    • Deb

Agreed! Why are you raising your voice? Because we are having an argument, you moron. What you really were saying…”How DARE you disagree with me!” I never would have thought this, but you did not bode well against Vienna’s points.

      • EJ

        Totally agree with you….

      • jagr721

I TOTALLY agree. It was completely okay for Vienna to INTERRUPT Jake constantly and prevent him from finishing a single sentence. It was just vile for Jake to ask not to be interrupted. Where does he get off with that BS. Vienna was right to raise her voice constantly- because like you said “we are having an argument, moron”. She did so throughout the interview. Jake on the other hand was in the WRONG for raising his voice once towards the end of the interview.

Can all the women who are Vienna followers self-identify as such so we know who upfront which are the shrill basketcases to avoid?

      • kahuna

Vienna tore him a new one on national TV. It was a thing of beauty. Jake is a mental case if he thinks a woman wanting to take measurements after he has taken his own is something to fly off the handle at. Or, if a woman wants to rely on her GPS even if he knows the directions perfectly well. I don’t know any mature man that would consider that “undermining.” He needs to learn how to pick his fights.

    • YouGoGirl!

Jake was totally SMUG and completely disrespectful. HE liked Vienna on the Bachelor because she swooned over him and idlolize him….something he thinks he deserves! He is a pilot and he thinks he is better than everyone else and should be worshiped. I totally felt bad for her because he did treat her like a child. Hopefully she will take this relationship as a lesson and move forward…any woman deserves better than a dude like Jake acring like a 13yr old with those silly replies.

It was a train wreck…and I loved every minute of it!

      • jagr721

        >Hopefully she will take this relationship as a lesson and move forward

Hopefully she will be instutionalized as she so richly deserves. LOL. I have never seen an adult female behave in such an immature, childish, insane manner.

Pro tip: if you yell over your partner constantly and prevent them from completing a single sentence, you MIGHT just be crazy!

      • Amy Leigh

@jagr721: Is your real name Jake? Your defense of him all over the comments is a little creepy. Jake is a douche and he further proved that last night.

      • beenthere

I was married to someone like Jake for five years. I have never been so relieved to be freed from such a twisted human being. These type of men don’t know how to love anyone but themselves. If you don’t get in line, you get abused. You have no voice in the relationship. When you try to have a voice you experience the frustrating one liners that Jake used. Any man who uses these needs a class on how to be a real man instead of an empty ugly shell. It is much easier for a man to use these one liners to avoid discussing the real issues. To discuss the real issues Jake would have had to admit to being less than perfect which is impossible for his kind. He will always be alone. It was obvious throughout the show that he thought he had done no wrong. He even was stupid enough to say it. He was also caught in a lie because when he first came on he said he wasnt ready to call it quits with Vienna but then later he said he broke up with her! Which is it Jake? No loss Vienna, he probably was terrible in bed anyway! I hope Vienna knows that it wasn’t HER! There are many strong women out there like her that expect more from a man. That is why Jake picked you in the first place….because your spicey!!!

      • Sarah

ITA YouGoGirl: Vienna was responding with emotion–which shows that she cared about their relationship. Jake’s total lack of emotion makes me believe that he NEVER cared for her. He probably picked her knowing that he would dump her. Talk about being on the show for “the right reasons”?! Jake was on the show to promote himself. Which is why he picked Vienna over Gia and Tenley (and everyone else): Vienna was the most controversial choice and therefore would garner the most publicity. Again, self promotion.

Vienna, go find someone better (that’s easy) and leave this loser in the dust. You are so better off. Glad to see he showed his true colors.

It’s clear to see that he doesn’t know how to deal with difficult situations. Can you imagine having a child with this man!? SCARY!!

      • Lisa

Amy Leigh – I completely agree with your comment.

jagr721 – definitely a little creepy with all the comments. Anyone with training in abusive relationships will tell you that Vienna’s behavior on this show was exactly like that of the victim in an abusive relationship–a victim who has made the decision to get out. Further, Jake’s mirrors that of an abuser. His body language was just plain scary.

I was married to a controlling, narcissitic sociopath for 18 months and got out of the marriage. Jake reminded me of the hothead I was married to.

Vienna isn’t perfect. She likely went on the show initially for the wrong reasons. She’s a bit immature, clearly. But none of those things justifies the abuse Jake put her through. He is a bully.

      • PhillyGirl

        Nicely put Lisa.

      • BeenThereToo

        Beenthere and Lisa,

I was married to a narcissistic Jake-alike for seven years out of 11 years together. It is extremely difficult to leave ana abusive partner and I can only give Vienna the props for taking off as soon as she did. I think she is much smarter than most give her credit. After all she figured Jake out six months into the relationship and that’s no small feat. I completely agree with Lisa about Jake’s behavior – he could be a case study out of any book on abusive violent men. That he never hit Vienna, means nothing. It could take years for an abuser to become physical, yet the emotional and verbal abuse can be even more devastating.

As for Vienna’s behavior during the interview and her constantly interrupting, it is very simple – she was nervous and emotional. At least she was sincere and brave enough to confront Mr. I-am-G*d’s-gift-to-the-world-and-nobody-is-better-than-me.

      • ms

the interrupting…nerves and emotion compounded by a smug, chavinistic man who dismisses everything she says…because she actually gives a poop, she keeps talking in hope that he will actually hear something she says. The fact she reached this point after months, not years, shows what a arse whatshisface really is.

      • catgirl

It must be difficult for a man to live in a house, with 20 women clamouring all over each other to vie for his affections, and then return to the real world where you live with the same b!tchy gal you chose out of the 20, who you discover now has a voice of her own.

      • catgirl

        Well stated, Sarah.

      • Don’t Get Me Started

        Very insightful comment, Lisa.

    • EJ

I would be afraid of Jake….in a relationship. Talk about verbal harassment!

      • Karen

Actually if you watched the whole “Bachelor” show of Jake you will see that Vieanna was never liked in the house by any of the other women cuz she was a game player and very sleezy. So i can see how Jake wouldn’t be able to trust her and i do believe she was unfaithfull. I think Vieanna was a cry baby and i believe she used those tatics in the relationship to get what she wanted. Ive seen women use those crybaby ways to get what they want and she did it the whole show “oh poor me”. She was nothing but a fake and she still is and Jake finally saw it good job Jake. Only thing is he should of listened to the women on the show when they were trying to tell him about her then,,,,,but he had to find out for himself and he did real fast after they got back to real life. Vienna stop being a baby and get on with your life.

    • Joy Howatson

I was so glad to see on the response that most responders felt Jake was a jerk. It is obvious that he is a controlling jerk. He portraid himself as a pilot ready to settle down and the minute he was offered another Hollywood gig he went for it when “if he was truly ready to settle down” he should have said “no thanks, I’m in an amazing new relationship and I want to spend time with her”. Since he had tried to pursue a career earlier it’s obvious he’s grabbing onto that second chance.
Lucky for Vienna, she can move on.

      • jagr721

        >Lucky for Vienna, she can move on.

Lucky for her? Don’t you mean lucky for us men?? I can’t wait to be humilliated by someone who yells over me constantly, and is an emotional trainwreck. Bring it on. I am a glutton for punishment!

      • dally

Wow, Jake. Great to see you read EW!

Vienna is as she always was. Sure she is young and immature, but that’s what Jake picked. He, on the other hand, has been exposed as a controlling jerk. She had specific examples of what went wrong. He just kept prattling on about her “undermining” him… like she wasn’t EVER allowed to question anything he says or does. Because he’s perfect. Not.

      • Brett

How long before Vienna’s doing porn?

      • Lisa

Of all the comments on all of the message boards online about these two people and the show last night, ew.com’s readers are the most perceptive and articulate. Well done, ew readers! Keep up the good work! :)

      • R3

to Lisa – I agree, the comments are always thought-provoking! I often change my views after reading some of the comments. And I keep reading them all week long, because more people will keep contributing after they finally watch their DVR!

    • avenger

Okay, first this guy is clearly the biggest a$$hole alive. He is a total control freak and it is so clear that he is a domineering and emotionally and verbally abusive guy. She might not be the best person but he is clearly everything she claims he is–a fame wh0re, a chauvinist, a liar, and a d0uche.
And what the hell is with Chris the host–this guy should get so much flak for this interview. I think he himself is a great d0uchebag, how far up Jake’s a$$ is his head. This just seemed liked such a boy’s club interview, with him basically softballing Jake questions and grilling Vienna–so very one-sided.
I’m sorry but this just brings out every feminist bone in my body. It infuriates me…excuse me while I go hulk out in the corner.

      • BART

Agreed – What no one has noted over the past decade of this show is that Chris Harrison is as smarmy as the cheesiest cheetos ever to get out of the limo or marvel over how they’re looking for their soul mate and best friend during this amazing journey…

      • kahuna

I agree with you about Chris. I never did get all of the Chris love around here. Harrison only has one purpose and that is to promote his show..the truth be damned.

      • gina

OMG. I felt the same way. I just kept asking, “What’s up Chris’ butt?!” Why is he being such as jerk to her. I’m no Vienna fan but thought during the 15 minutes I watched it that she held her own against him. Jake from the moment he came in like this was an acting gig. Like he asked someone, “Does this face look like outrage? No.? How about this? Or this?” Ugh.

      • qtpii

Avenger, you put it perfectly. I guess since Jake’s the Bachelor, Chris tried to cater to him even though Jake was/is truly a d0uchebag.

      • Marceebee

Chris H is a totally jerk, and I wish they would get rid of him. Anyone remember what a pompous ass he was when he “invitied” Roz back for the re-union show and then sat there in judgement of her? But, then Roz called him out on rumors of his own discretions (which were much worse than hers),
he shut up and ushered her out – FAST! He is almost as creepy as his buddy, Jake.

      • Homespunner

On the nose Avenger. Why didn’t Harrison give Vienna alone time during the interview? Jeff Probst (if you have to choose a reality tv host) would have done a much more incisive interview. And why did CH thank either of them for being “open and honest” at the end of the interview? Two stupid people arguing and a third stupid person refereeing.

      • France

So true! Thanks for commenting. Chris Harrison doesn’t have much grasp of or insight into human relationships, as much as he tries to promote himself as something of an expert. And he can be so righteous, phony and judgmental – very cheesy in many ways.

      • Jean

Thank you. I wanted to bang their thick skulls together. I bet Chris really did hit on that guy’s wife.

      • actingup

Hello -Chris Harrison is paid by ABC – so of course he is going to favor Jake in the “interview”. He is a mouthpiece for the show so he had to protect their property.

Jake is horrible – and yes – he is all about FAME FAME FAME. He is scary.

      • Violet

I also laughed my head off at Chris saying that there had been a number of successful relationships from the show. Only Trista married the one she chose, and Jason married his second choice, Molly. Otherwise, Mary and Byron had a tumultuous relationship that’s now over, and the rest didn’t work out at all.

      • Ann from the Arbor

Agree about Chris, what a puppet. And I thought I was the only one who remembered how he had the nerve to act like he was superior to Roz when it turned out he was hitting on someone too and he is married. He should go.

      • De

I agree with you-Chris was TERRIBLE during the interview-HE SO FAVORED the little man Jake..and was rather abrupt and cruel to Vienna-I have liked Chris up to think point and I have changed my mind after his interview favoritism towards Jake the arse-hole

      • R3

I wish more people would call Chris out (in the comments section of his blog) about his terrible, obviously biased, interview. I doubt Chris reads the comments in the OTHER blogs, other than his own!

      • R3

to Violet – “Two” is a number! ;-)

    • SFinSF

      Yes, yes and YES.

      • dally

        Ditto!!!

Vienna is as she always was. Young and immature. He has publicly exposed his inner a**hole and it isn’t pretty.

And Chris H continues to show that he’s a minion of the devil…I mean the producers.

    • Andi

I agree! He was so sickenly smug and self-righteous that any woman would be getting increasingly exasperated! He acted like the victim. I’m inclined to think Vienna gave a much more accurate description of their relationship, but like a true narcissist, he twisted things around to try to make himself look like he was so innocent.

    • T

I swear, I thought he was about to beat her up. He is a creepy a-hole.

    • France

Very insightful. Jake’s very passive-aggressive and what that almost always means is that the partner gets crazier and more emotional. Then the passive-aggressive antagonist can point fingers and be smug and condescending as if their “control” is superior to raw and honest emotion. Now I understand why Jake never experienced love – and probably never will.

      • Sherry

wow. dead on accurate. well put.

      • Kate

So astute. I didn’t consider that, but it’s so true!

      • teresa

You’re right. He showed a perfect example of passive-aggressive behavior.

      • Shortee

That is EXACTLY what I thought. What a PR*CK!! I am so glad so many people felt that way, too!

      • Kells

Thank you for articulating this so well. Vienna isn’t perfect (who is) but her plea for “a voice” rang true to me. Jake is scary. I’m so glad he’s exposed himself on national tv as an emotionally abusive ass. I’m just sorry Vienna had to suffer through it.

      • Pinky

I was never a Vienna fan, but when they broke up and her allegations hit, I decided not to choose sides. After the interview, I realized she was clearly the most truthful (with grains of salt thrown in here and there). He would not look at her and she was begging with her eyes for him to show some emotion towards her–anything! Jake has a Napoleon complex and he chose Vienna precisely because she was young–he thought he could control her. He’s not interested in strong, self-possessed, mature women who could be intellectually stimulating. The only stimulation he was looking for was the perpetual stroking of his . . . ego.

      • R3

to Pinky — I agree, he picked her because she is young and he thought he could control her. The last thing he wants is a self-posessed, mature woman who really has something to bring to the relationship. He doesn’t want a partner – his ego doesn’t leave room for another person in a relationship.

  • kenzie

he was super smarmy. I was half expecting him to say, “I have never hit a woman before, but she was asking for it.” Vienna is immature, but at least we all found out why jake was still single.

    • etm

Totally agree. He was so **** condescending I wanted to smack him. I actually felt bad for Vienna despite her past. I can’t imagine Jake will ever get a girl (if, in fact, a girl is what he wants). He seems like a woman hater.

      • ziggy

“A woman-hater” is absolutely the vibe I got from him while watching. I think he just needs a passive, brainless girl who wants to be controlled and paraded around like a trophy. He doesn’t deserve an outspoken, smart woman (who, yes, has some fame courting issues, but is mostly logical). He’s disgusting.

      • nancy

most gay men are women haters in one way or another!

      • Helene

Nancy, that is totally unfair, small-minded and quite bigoted. I’m sure you don’t appreciate hearing negative statements about ALL women.

      • juneymoom

Helene, if you will re-read nancy’s post you will see she said “MOST gay men,” not “all.” And from my observations, I agree with her.

      • Steve

        Nancy,

It’s women like you most gay men hat if they are in fact “women haters”

You sound like a complete idiot with that statement

      • Mellissa

Nancy, all of the gay men I’ve met love women. They just don’t want to DATE women. Maybe you should meet a few gay men before judging their women hating ways.

      • Brian

Nancy and Juneymoom: WRONG. And saying “MOST [insert class of people here] do [insert action here]” about anyone is most likely going to be bigoted. Now why don’t you go make some more assumptions based on your superficial readings of people’s sexual orientations. While you’re busy doing that and growing your gunt, your “straight” boyfriend’s out getting a beaner from his workout buddy.

      • @Brian

Your first comment makes good sense. So why did you ruin your point by ending with a digusting twist which only makes you look like trash?

      • teresa

Most of the gay men I know LOVE women and the women love them back. They don’t want or need to date each other. They can remain open and true to themselves with no restraints.I wish I’d had a gay male friend when I was a teenager.

      • Ann from the Arbor

        Brian
You seem a little touchy about all this. My guess is your workout partner didin’t show up today?

  • Shawn

Wow, thank god these two broke up or we would be hearing their story on DATELINE in 6 months with one dead and the other in prison.

  • Peaches

Actually, Vienna said they needed a “pol-a-graph”. They are both morons, for sure. She HAD to move to California where she couldn’t find a job? If she wasn’t after the fame like he is, she could have stayed in Florida and gotten a job and nursed her dog back to health with the two IVs and everything. What a load of crap from BOTH of them. They have had way more than their 15 minutes. She will be in Playboy next and he will be romancing Kate Gosselin or something. EWWWWW all around…

    • realitee

Actually, I thought it was poly-a-graph. Whichever, it was hilarious. If that doesn’t make The Soup I will be disappointed.

      • Hilda Von Toot

and she seriously does not know what undermines means? Stupid ,much?

      • juneymoom

Well now, how could she know what Jake meant by “undermining” when that was the title he gave to every single thing she did? I never cared for Vienna, but I know men like Jake – insecure, narcissic men do not make good husbands.

      • Mellissa

Juneymoom took the words out of my mouth. How could she know what undermine means, when Jake didn’t even know how to use it in a sentence?

And although I laughed when she mispronounced polygraph as well, give her a break? You’ve never mispronouned a word before?

      • Steve

        Juneymoon,

After looking at some of your comments I have to doubt your ability to be a good wife. you sound like a moron

      • juneymoon

        Steve,
Really? You don’t know thing one about me. I may have been abused by an insecure man, or I might have watched my sister smother her talent and personality to keep a bully happy. It’s possible I was once a good wife to a wonderful man who died too soon of melanoma. You don’t know anything about me or my experience. But I know something about you – you will judge a person on the basis of a few comments – so which of us is a moron?

      • Claire

Steve, I hear your wife would like to express her opinion but you won’t allow her to be on the internet until she finishes the laundry and bakes a batch of oatmeal cookies.

      • R3

        Juneymoon one, Steve zero.

      • to Claire

Didn’t you notice – his name is “Steve” – he probably has a “life partner”, not a wife!

    • LR

thank you! i thought i was the only one who noticed her say poly-a-graph, it was driving me insane

    • Corinne

I watch it with CC on and it said “poly-o-graph”–Ha!!

      • RaRA

        That is hilarious.

    • Christie

I think it’s irrelevant that they’re both morons or famewhores. They were on the Bachelor afterall. My issue tonight was with Jake’s creepy control issues as evidenced by Vienna’s actual examples of their conflicts, as well as his complete condescension and unfounded snark.
Vienna may be a famewhore, and doesn’t seem to be the most pleasant person (the interrupting WAS a bit much), but she is young and a bit spoiled. I still thought she was being way more genuine. I’m with Slezak about how she just should have fessed up about why she’s staying in LA – but I think she was too afraid to admit it b/c people will dismiss her points about jerky Jake if they think she’s just trying to get attention. He’s still a BIG JERK.

      • mer

Agreed. They both are getting exactly what they wanted – their 15 minutes of fame. Only surprises here are that he is creepier than he first appeared and she actually trusted her gut and got out. If either of them we doing anything but trying to get attention, this wouldn’t be all over the press.

    • Sue

So she mispronounced a word … haven’t any of you ever mispronounced a word in the heat of an argument? Don’t be so petty.

      • BeenThereToo

My thought exactly, Sue. Vienna was so obviously distressed and highly emotional, no wonder she mispronounced. It is interesting how some people would focus on the little things. If Jake was sitting next to me, I would have surely mispronounced more than one word.

  • Steven C.

This was all fake…all planed out. I called it months ago. Its all part of the major plan, of “their” major plan to continue their 15 min of fame.

Im sure one of them will be cast on some other reality show.

Maybe V, will be on the next season of dancing with stars.

Jake on the next Sureal Life???

LOL…SAD…ITS ALL FAKE, THEY ARE GREAT ACTORS THOUGH.

    • Mike R.

Are the rumors true about Jake??? is that why she brought up the gay guy…all these mags are saying Jake has a “friend” thats a guy that he is alwasyyyy spending late nights with. Hmmm.

    • teresa

      No, not such great actors.

  • Kate

for the entire interview, I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was so WEIRD about Jake….but you put it perfectly…..creepy. Absolutely creepy. He was just so odd….and then of course, he spend half the interview telling Vienna that she undermines him….when he spent the entire interview doing that to her!!
I was never a huge Vienna fan at all, and I’m still not…but she came across as more real (or as real as you can be)…and Jake came across as the fame-hungry creeper.

And by the way, Vienna…THANK YOU for FINALLY pointing out that the “pilot” from the Bachelor doesn’t actually fly planes anymore?? Oh right….he’s an actor now. Got it.

    • Vicky

I agree with you kate. I was never a Vienna fan and thought jake an ok guy. I now think she is telling the truth and he is a sociopath.

    • RaRa

I had heard his primary employment was that he owns (or runs) a limousine company.

  • Marissa

I’ve never been a huge fan of either Jake or Vienna. Tonight, Vienna came across as immature (especially with all of the interruptions!), but at least she displayed some emotion! Jake looked like an arrogant, emotion-less creep.

    • Deb N

Agree with you Marissa, but you can add controlling d-bag to your list.

    • Me

Jake did show one emotion–barely suppressed rage!

  • Sue

I found myself totally on Vienna’s side. Jake came across as cold, smug, controlling and totally incapable of a healthy relationship. How in the world did ABC ever pick him??? Wasn’t the wonderful Reid from the same season? What a shame they ended up with this narcissist, Jake.

    • David

I think Jake is cold but I don’t know how in God’s name people are taking Vienna’s side. She interrupted him all night and was just a complete shrew. I give Jake credit for his composure during that brow beating she gave him.

      • meliot

David – the reason people are taking Vienna’s side is we all recognize abuse when we see it and Jake was demonstrating it in spades. She really wanted this relationship to work. She gave him two different chances to change his indifferent/passive agressive behavior, but he didn’t. She was frustrated with the situation. She was overly emotional, and knew this was probably her only chance to say what really happened in their “realtionship”, so she felt she had to respond right then and there or no one would ever hear her side. I am not saying I like Vienna, but you gotta feel sorry for the girl.

      • reap

I kinda agree. She got paid pretty well to tell her story to the tabloids and we know she has a history of being manipulative. Jake came off as an angry guy but to be honest that whole thing with them last night was just ugly. You would think if he had those anger issues, you would have seen that in the show the past two seasons. Jake may be an angry guy, but Vienna I think is vindictive.

      • Ava

Look Vienna is a classic example of being with an aggressive man who is controlling and mentally abusive—-I am on her side—-Glad Vienna was able to get out before the physical abuse started—-Jake went into the interview thinking he would come out smelling like a rose—-but he came out of it smelling like a controlling abusive person—-Going to the tabloids-so what-it was her chance to finally tell her side—Jake did not have consistent stories in the interview or in his magazine interviews-His body language ws not positive for him either-The hate in his facial expressions sunk him…Time to pack up Jake and go back to Texas–Oh yeah you do not have a pilot job right now–Oh wasn’t it tell tale when Jake made that awful look and smile when he said “I went flying this past week-end” BARF

I can see how the anger issues could go unnoticed, when you’re on a show that is 1) heavily edited, and 2) set in a luxurious environment where 20 women hang on your every word and fight for a chance to make out with you. Any passive-aggressive egomaniac can live quite happily in that environment. It’s the real world, with real women, in real relationships, they can’t handle. Especially if they picked the most immature, spoiled one in the bunch to be with after the show.

    • Mjcc64

I totally agree with you. Jake came off as a total jerk.

    • melissa

Yeah, I found myself on her side too… weird.

      • Roma

Not weird, even if you were predisposed to like her. She looked angry but hurt, which indicated that she had some level of feeling and injury. He looked constipated, angry, but angry that she was ruining his image of being Mr. Wonderful.

      • Roma

I meant to say “predisposed to not like her”. Sorry for the confusion!

    • sherry

      Jake is a fake… but she’s dramma

    • tomm

Sweet and nice guy Reid was offered the show, but wisely turned it down. I’m sure he found someone else and is doing just fine in private life.

      • R3

Didn’t he end up on Bachelor Pad?

    • Leila

I couldn’t believe they aired this trainwreck. It’s really bad for the Bachelor franchise in general.

      • R3

Actually, it was probably great for the franchise. People tune in for drama. And the fact that there are 34 pages of comments says that people invested themselves emotionally in it.

    • Michelle

If he said “And again with the interruption” one more time. OMG. I don’t like Vienna but I really felt bad for her. He really is a Jekyl and Hyde type.

    • Deb13

We saw this coming, did we not? Vienna needs to learn to shut her mouth and let other people talk. I will give her a point though for apologizing. Jake can’t stand anyone questioning him–Vienna is just not his type.

  • Helene

No way is Vienna a marketing “exec.” Did she even graduate high school? And I thought her dad gave her everything, so how did she not have any money?

    • Sue

She has her degree in Marketing from I believe, University of Central Florida.

      • Hilda Von Toot

        prostitutes go to college?

      • Jelana

The poor alumnae from that school. A big fear is that someone who maybe slept their way through my alma mater will go on national tv demanding a poly-a-graph to prove she wasn’t undermining her fake fiance, even though she doesn’t know what the word means. Oh, and this comment doesn’t put me on her “side.” They both suck.

  • Macy

Jake is creepy and all I could think about is the movie “Sleeping with the Enemy” This guy is reptilian. Violent creep he is and he exposed the pit viper in him that ruined his wanna be career. True definition of scum.

  • jasa

it seems as though its Jake’s way or the highway! His self-righteousness was nauseating. He doth protest to much about his being the “man”. Makes me return to my original thought that he is repressing his attraction to men. He measured the room so accurately with a tape measure that no one should ever question his furniture placement. What an arrogant, self appointed jerk!!

    • Christie

He really should have just picked Tenley. She never would’ve dared to disagree with him b/c she had no opinions of her own. I actually agree with Vienna on that one…it’s the only type of woman he’ll find.

    • dally

Watching him…. wow! Those clips we saw of him yelling at Chelsea on DWtS were only the tip of the ice berg. He got mad at her, to, for undermining him! (Or as everyone else called it – trying to teach him to dance)

  • Maria

I think he planned it to happen this way from the beginning. He picked Vienna because she would be the easiest target in the end and he would look like the good guy. She is either a very good actress of genuinely upset. I agree with mccliza,he’s an A-hole.

    • Minna

I always though this!! I thought when he picked her that the picked the most controversial less liked girl and that was very strange. I became to believe he did this so that when he dumped her people would support him cuz nobody liked Vienna..

    • Jessib

Yep, that’s what I think as well. Ughhh he makes me sick.

    • f11

That’s what I have been saying…he chose her because his plan was to break up all along and he knew women didn’t like her. I believe Vienna when she says that if she didn’t break the story first he would have and you can bet she would have taken the fall. Then he gets out of the relationship with his (fake) persona in place and a bunch of sympathy for him. He didn’t count on her exposing him like this and BEFORE he had an opportunity to do it first. THAT’S where his rage comes from.

      • kahuna

What was it he said he has..a press agent? Of course Vienna knew he would go to the media and spread lies, which is exactly what he did. Two lies she exposed were, that he broke up with her and the lies about her cheating. What was his response to her exposing these? A shrug of the shoulders because she was telling the truth. Yet Harrison still tried to make Vienna out to be the fame-***** instead of his precious Jake. Where is Vienna’s press agent?

      • Christie

Totally agree. If we would have picked Tenley and broken up with her so fast, he knew he would look like the bad guy. Was never a big Vienna fan, but agree she exposed him for the fake he is. Really, really think he is gay.

      • Ava

Jake was more angry than normal because Vienna sunk him first and went to the media first—–She exposed this nasty mean man-No one will want to see him on a TV show—-Good Luck Vienna-Glad you got away from this hurtful-hateful-abusive person

      • R3

Christie – I disagree about his being gay. Most gay men I know are a lot less insecure and controlling than he appears to be. I believe he is misogynistist, which is not nearly the same thing.

      • R3

        Sorry, I meant misogynistic.

  • etm

Ali was particularly annoying tonight. I fast forwarded through most of the episode. Just when you think her hair can’t look any worse – it somehow manages to. Ugh! And those sad puppy dog looks she was giving made me want to barf. I am glad Ty left – he really grossed me out.

    • teresa

She’s a terrible actress. I’m surprised they didn’t fix her hair because it looks totally fake and doesn’t look good on camera.

      • De

Ali is not a good actress and looks bad on TV and God you can see her roots and her hair looks dirty all the time and the extensions are obvious

      • R3

It’s her nasal voice and her constant forced laughter that drive me nuts. It’s like she’s constantly trying to reassure whatever guy she is with, “See what a good time I’m having?”

    • Dannie

I liked Ty alot-He is a nice person-gentle and intelligent-And one of the few that does not have a girlfiend back home–_I THINK he would make a great Bachlor…..
