Tomorrow (June 25) marks the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s untimely death. Thankfully, the undisputed “King of Pop” left us with some incredible memories. Life.com has published several galleries chronicling the rise to musical royalty all the way to when he was laid to rest. There’s Michael hanging with friend Sophia Loren, eerie parallels to Elvis Presley, and some amazing performance shots.
Jackson was known for plenty. Mostly good. Some not so good. How will you remember him?

An Angel if there is such a thing.

An AMAZING performer. RIP.
wonderful human being
extraordinaire!!
king of pop
I miss you every waking hour. Truly a remarkable singer, dancer and human being. I love you xxxx
I’ll remember the great music and what a great performer he was.
First, he was obviously a nice human being, son, father, brother, friend. Just look at how Stevie Wonder is mourning MJ and you’ll know. Second, an amazing artist. And third, the great patience he had to deal with those who attacked him and vilified him. may we all learn to be kinder and humbler.
Michael was such a talent and I will miss his smile, dancing and singing and most of all his generosity to the less fortunate
URGENT: Latoya is now saying that Michael was killed for his catalog of music. Based on that, I seriously think we should all start a boycott of ALL MJ songs and other music in Michael’s catalog he owned so those dirt rotten scoundrels won’t get a penny from it. That money belongs to the Jackson family. If they can’t have the money then no one should! Let’s get this GLOBAL boycott rolling NOW before these bastards make any more off of the blood of our dearly departed Michael. DON’T BUY ANY OF HIS MUSIC or that in his catalog and maybe they will give it back to the Jackson family. Do your part and SPREAD THE WORD NOW!!! Thank you Latoya, we hear you.
b*tch please….you are just as crazy as latoya and the rest of the family
Incredible talent, One of the best artist the world has ever known
Michael was someone I knew for nearly thirty years. I believe that many greedy people including media throughout his career conspired to try to muddy him up for gain. Dr. Murray is trying to purge what he did to Michael by appearing through PR, a combo of Florence Nightingale and Mother Theresa, none of which the Doctor is. He knowingly gave Michael Ephedra an illegal drug with dangerous side effects without his knowledge as part of the Diprovan administering protocol; and he took outrageous means to cover his tracks. Michael was hounded by people connected to those that wanted his Catalogue, he verbalized that to me and others after he had them looked into; that and not drugs, made him scared some wanted him dead for profit. He was a clean and artistic performer, concerned always for the welfare of those he loved; family, friends and his fans. He wanted to raise his children himself; he did not kill himself nor administer the drugs that killed him, himself. The Doctor’s “bedside manner” does not guarantee good doctoring; would the Doctor’s present patients and fellow church members; honestly, could they trust the good doctor and his judgment if they, like MJ were unconscious???? It does not matter if there has not been any other incident of bad judgment on the part of the Doctor since MJ’s death; it matters that he killed MJ and was negligent for 82 minutes; 60 of those minutes considered by medical pros; the CRITICAL HOUR; he needs jail time, restriction from being near MJ’s resting place and the press needs to realize that MJ was his victim not the other way around; I agree with Katherine Jackson. MJ was clean, artistic, genious and kind; he was fan-minded not self-minded; he was not Miley Cyrus who cares more about proving she is not hung up about her body and never considers that she is not regarding that what if one of her fans copied her overt dress and some pervert committed a crime against the fan copying her new sexual expression??? MJ was not Lady Gaga; overt, undressing in public and a high school talent show copycat of her “idols”. MJ worked with professionals; he never stated he would share his return with Gaga. MJ was never known to any that were close to him as a liar, or one trying to gain attention. He was put here to change the world, to love children and like we all should, to LOVE.
Dr. Murray’s recent Court appearance produced a sorry amount of fans of MJ in attendance and near 400 members of Murray’s church. Why? Because the criminal always appears to have more attention than the victim they kill; news, the good Lord, was there in that room and it was Murray’s free will that did “all he could do to help his fellow man”; the good Lord’s justice will in the end prevail no matter what outcome with Murray’s “trial”.
Thanks, Linda A.
I’ll remember him for being the worlds greatest artist, for all the songs and music he gave us. But most of all I cherish him for what he thought us – that Love is forever. We Love you more each day. I dont want to say RIP, I will say please let your spirit live among us forever.
“eerie parallels” between MJ & Elvis? Really? All that photo gallery showed was that they both met sitting Presidents and were both photographed wearing aviator shades in a car with a pretty girl. Oooh, so eerie!
for me, there’s the before Michael, when he was good and exciting and there’s the after Michael…when he became weird. I still love his music though.
A true legend, your music will play on forever, may u find peace at last Michael.
i wil never forget u,MJ R.I.P
