We can thank the long-awaited Regionals showdown, Quinn’s baby (and mama) drama, and that darn “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” singalong for making us grab more Kleenex than we’d like to admit during the Glee finale. But we can also thank the finale for some fun, stage-worthy outfits. In particular, the girls’ brocade halter dresses worn during “Faithfully”, which had me wishing I, too, was on stage belting out Journey in ’60s garb.
Glee costume designer Lou Eyrich chose Betsey Johnson’s evening “Goldie” strapless dress, adding straps that helped fill out the ensemble’s retro style. The fashion label tweeted the news Monday, and it looks like fashion gossip spreads like fire — the dress is unfortunately sold out now.
But you can still get your Glee on with these similar-style brocade dresses. For a similar color palette, try Trina Turk’s gold leaf “Reina” dress ($247; revolveclothing.com). For a more traditional brocade, try Kensie’s option ($26; urbanminx.com), and for some experimentation with color, try Marc Jacobs cotton brocade number ($531.42; mytheresa.com).

I would love to buy this dress, even if I would have no place to wear it.
Madd- me too…I also thought it was a excellent choice that even though they let her take off the pregnancy suit for performances, it was a dress that you could see them picking just for the fact that Quinn was pregnant and they didn’t want to make it an issue.
seriously? I can’t be the only one that thinks that the dress looks like golden bubble wrap!
I realllllly did not like the dress. And it made no sense for them to go for a 60s look. Big fashion mistake, in my opinion.
FYI – The Santa Barbara Betsey Johnson store had three of these dresses in stock as of Wednesday evening.
