Image Credit: Michael Muller/HBOOn the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday, Entourage producer Mark Wahlberg told MTV reporters that he continues to be “focused” on bringing the HBO comedy to the big screen. “I just think we can make a great movie,” he told MTV News. “I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they’ve always wanted more.” I just have one thing to say to that: What? No!
Over the years, I’ve been a fairweather Entourage fan, but have always felt the show works perfectly in its half-hour format — giving us an additional hour of Hollywood glitz, Jeremy Piven, boobs, and general d–chbaggery might leave me with a tired, sad feeling. (There’s only so much Ed Hardy you can take.) That being said, props to Wahlberg for having some ideas already: “In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened…it would be pretty cool!” Oh, Mark, you’re so convincing.
Wahlberg’s rep has yet to respond to EW’s calls about the progress of the film, but I suppose I’d give it a chance. How about you, PopWatchers? Would you see an Entourage movie, even if this story should be filed under: Things that should have happened five years ago? (Oh my God, guys, remember Daniel Powter?)

He should focus on making the show better.
Absolutely. I used to love it, but I was so disgusted with last season. Vince and even Ari were on the backburner all season, and the whole season was basically about Eric’s love life, not about Vince’s film career.
I still love the show cause it targets my demographic but this would only work if it’s made after the show ends and the show ends on a cliffhanger.
i would love an entourage movie
Should be an interesting counterpoint to SATC2– if it’s just as awful, pointless and materialistic (which I suspect it will be, if not worse), we might finally have the conclusive proof of whether or not the vicious reviews for Carrie et al were partially motivated by sexism, like some people are suggesting.
Entourage totally deserves a movie if 4 fluffers can get away with “Lawrence of my labia”
The Entourage hate on this site is hilarious. The writers only care about Glee and Gaga.
It’s not just EW writers who don’t like Entourage. Plenty of EW readers – myself included – also find it to be incredibly shallow and pointless.
Love this site, but I totally agree that they are so focused on particular shows (Glee) that they can make sweeping statements about others.
But I do agree with them here, an Entourage movie will suck hard. And dont say I’m an Entourage hater. It’s one of my favourite shows, I have been watching for years and own every DVD.
It’s okay for the SATC girls to act up, but not okay for the guys of Entourage. LMFAO
judging by the SATC2 reviews, that isn’t an accurate statement. people don’t like either group acting up.
I know the film has gotten really bad reviews, but no said anything similar to the above headline.
this is one of the best series, ever. if a movie is to be made this is the ONE to see… keep up the Good Work…!!
I love the show, and can sit on the sofa and watch it all day back to back. But a movie…..meh? I think The Hangover guys set the bar too high for the Entourage guys to follow.
Is this show still on?
Daniel Powter? He may be a one hit wonder but I hear that song all the time on the radio. . .in my world (D.C.), he has yet to disappear long enough for me to forget (or miss) him.
entourage is one of my favorite shows ever and i can’t wait for the movie. i’m sure it’ll happen. for me, the show has always been hilarious and completely and totally entertaining and i hope they make a film as awesome.
also, mark said in that interview that there’ll be six final episodes in 2011. not sure if they’ll be a seperate season or a season 7, part 2 deal. although i was hoping that we’d get an additional 12-episode season to end the show with exactly 100 episodes, i’ll take what i can get.
I don’t watch Entourage since I don’t have HBO, but I’m skeptical about it working as a full-length movie since I’ve heard the show itself hasn’t been that good lately. Still, I’m a fan of Mark Wahlberg and this would be a hundred times better than a Four Brothers sequel (this coming from someone who thoroughly enjoyed the original).
Anyone notice in the Daniel Powter video, the girl(Samaire Armstrong) played Ari’s assistant in the first season?
This season better be back to it’s best. Last 2 seasons have been dissapointing, yet the finale last seasons was a pisser.
i think the shows are fine, and they should be longer. I would love to see an entourage movie and i think TRUE fans will as well.
