TV's most newsworthy woman. Who is she? Let's guess.

newspaperImage Credit: ABCI’m not very good with faces, PopWatchers, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen this woman pictured in these newspapers.* Which is weird, because, apparently, she’s so newsworthy, she’s been fodder for the papers for years — in shows like Married… With Children, That ’70s Show, Cougar Town, Desperate Housewives, and what looks like Worst Week. So what’s the deal? Is she a time-traveler? A witch? I’ll guess the latter, if only because Charmed‘s Brian Krause** has likely read the article about her. And he’s a Whitelighter, so he’s got to keep tabs on these things. [The High Definite]

*Special thanks to PopWatcher Karen, who passed this our way.
**I wish Brian Krause would inspect me like he is this newspaper.

I clicked on the headline and seriously was expecting “Mary Jane” to be tv’s most newsworthy woman without a face. I misunderstood…

She looks like a grown up Veruca Salt. I wonder what she did to get her lovely mug in the paper.

I read about this a few days ago on /Film, and a commenter said this: ”
I think this may have to do with the prop production houses in L.A. – places like ISS, Ellis Props (back in the day), etc. They have ready made newspapers you can buy for production use, and they use “filler” designs on the pages – hence the same back pages or inner pages and pictures being seen so much. It’s the same with prop money. You can see a particular design (and there are many) popping up in all sorts of movies and TV shows.”

But I like to think that this woman is just a timetraveler who is always newsworthy whenever she shows up in a particular time.

I figured that it was a prop that has been used over and over in differenct shows. If you look at these three pics, that woman is not the only constant: the headlines and other pics, even the layout is exactly the same.

My favorite is that Ed O’Neil reads the same paper in Married With Children & Modern Family. See here: http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/great-randoms-mon-36.jpg?w=500&h=588

OMGoodness! Thanks for the laugh! The punchline was PERFECT!

  • Shay

She looks a lot like Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood) to me.

    • Madd

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

      • Robin

There is no way that is NOT a picture of Karen Allen. It’s definitely her!

    • Elizabeth

Yep… couldn’t remember her last name right away, but that’s what I was thinking too.

Maybe it was a side effect from Starman ;)

  • Anna

Hahah @ your closing line. I miss Brian Krause !

Yea to all the geeks like me who are always looking for the little things in shows :) good catch

  • Mac

She looks like Karen Allen or even Diane Keaton.

  • BG

OMG! I never realized that it’s the same paper every character is reading! Must pay more attention next time I’m watching a show.

Quie interesting to try and find these things, I love it. Another one would be I was watching NCIS two weeks ago and the same license plate on Gibb’s charger as well as the following Safelife comercial on the guys van!

  • Britt

clearly she’s the only female observer who is constantly causing trouble in order to save the man she loves from impending doom. She and August would have a lot to talk about

    • Shay

      Excellent reference.
