Because if I can’t hang out with you, a cat from a bodega, and a Teddy Ruxpin wearing mascara, then this would not be a successful birthday, Mr. Bill. Just make sure black George Washington is on the invite list.
Oh, and I know that Saturday Night Live movies are doomed and everything, but I would totally watch 90 minutes of Stefon. It could be called Requiem for Stefon’s Dream, because you know it would be ten times more disturbing than the 2000 drug flick. I mean, DJ Baby Bok Choy = scarier than heroin-addicted Jordan Catalano. Right?

favorite SNL cast member right now.
Mine too! I also love the sketch he does where he’s an alien sportcaster.
I’m pretty sure I love all of his skits. I especially love his Vincent Price impression.
His Vincent Price is fantastic!
He is the secret weapon of the show now.
I love his Italian Charlie Rose skit. Don’t forget about that.
Bill Hader is hilarious. He’s also sooo cute! He and Jason Sudeikis were MVPs last season.
Hear! Hear!
He is definitely one of the best on SNL right now. And I also would sit through 90 minutes of Stefon. He is one of the only current reoccuring characters that I like. It also helps that Bill Hader has to try not to laugh whenever he says one of Stefon’s lines cause they’re so random and out there.
I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face if I had to explain what human bath mats were!
Or human fire hydrants.
I absolutely adore Bill! Hilarious, and a fellow Star Wars nerd like me. I always had a crush on him.
Less Kristen Wiig (they could fire her altogether and I would be pleased – Two A-Holes is the only character of hers I’ve ever found funny) and way more Bill Hader cum Stefon! I also love pretty much everything else he does. He’s a winner.
Hader is absolutely classic SNL. He makes you feel as if you are back in the Hartman/Meyers years. Give this dude more sketches.
Thanks EW for this hilarious post. I always appreciate an LOL moment on Mondays.
Are you serious? This sketch illustrates everything that’s wrong with SNL. The writing isn’t funny, so the actors have to overplay everything; the only reason anyone liked the Stefon sketch the first time it aired is because Bill Hader couldn’t keep a straight face. Once it got buzz they quickly tossed together a nearly identical (yet far less funny) repeat, two eps later. I predict this one will die a slow torturous death, much like “Debbie Downer”, which, like Stefon, only got any attention because the cast couldn’t keep a straight face when it first aired (Lindsay Lohan ep). They beat that horse to death, and they’ll do it with Stefon too…mark my words.
Dude. Don’t be a Hader hater.
I live with Stefon. It’s like Bill Hader shadowed my roomie for this character. My roomie has a bigger mohawk and it’s a bit more flock of seagulls, but that’s the only difference I can see.
My freshman room mate was like a girl version of Stefon.
My husband and I had the discussioin over whether Bill Hader was funny or not. I think he’s awesome, even enjoyed him in Forgetting Sara Marshall. More Bill, less Kristen Wiig!
He’s so underrated in my opinion.
Hader is hands-down my favorite SNL cast member – he is a genius; everything he does is first-rate and stellar. And such perfect accents! Love ‘em all, but Stefan and Peter O’Toole are my faves…
Stefan is not a great character. Hader has done better and he is a funny actor so let us leave it like that.
I love Stefon! Although I would be a little afraid of the things he describes visualized. Hilarious on SNL though.
