What scares New Yorkers? Being ambushed to talk about summer movies

Comedian Billy Eichner’s latest Man on the Street interview installment, “Summer Movies 2010!”, is not to be missed. It’s a slow build that erupts at 2:45, when he gets “angry” that bad reviews are keeping people away from the art that is Sex and the City 2. “Miss, Cynthia Nixon’s on a camel!” he repeats as women continue to ignore him. Then, he begins to run, throwing out questions to strangers who cower. “Miss, any thoughts on Dakota Fanning?” “White girls, Jackie Chan?” Watch the somewhat NSFW video below. ahahahh! not bad! not bad at all! would be great to get more of this, but not movies. perhaps the oil spill, or the world cup. keep up the relevance!

    What a douchebag

  • Tina

    more disturbing than funny 0.o

  • Jay

I almost cried I was laughing so hard.

    • Sarah

Me too! I did cry though! That was great.

Likewise. I loved the woman in the sunglasses who’s like, “no” and walks off. She’s a 3:10 into the video. I also loved the first woman who screamed. Lmfao.

i would probaly smack the crap out of that guy if you can call him that.

2010 has to be the weakest summer for movies in years. Not one “must-see” movie, which is depressing, since I usually really look forward to summer movies. 2011 looks more promising, at least.

    • Nick B

I agree. This is a pretty bad summer at the movies. There are only two must-see movies for me this summer, Toy Story 3 and Inception. Most summers, there are usually at least 5 movies I consider to be must-see movies.

There are going to be so many pissed and disappointed Nolan fanboys come August. The film looks good, but it will not gross the outrageous amounts of money the online fans are predicting. 80 million dollar opening? 300-400 million total domestic? Are you kidding me? Nolan’s films are smart and cerebral, probably too smart, and his only films that have become popular hits did so because they are based on a hugely popular superhero icon that’s been around for more than 60 years. INCEPTION will either flop or be a modest summer hit, but there’s no way in hell that this film about…what it it about again?…will gross 300 million in the Summer…
Even IRON MAN 2 will probably be cut short of 300

      • Nick B

I don’t know why you’re telling me this. I’m not some crazed fanboy who’s about to argue about how much money Inception will gross. I like Nolan’s movies, and I like Leonardo DiCaprio, so Inception is a must-see for me. Notice I used the words “for me.” I never said it was going to be the biggest box office hit of the year. Inception is clearly not a film that will appeal to everyone. It will probably perform well enough at the box office, but it’s not going to be the standout (in terms of box office gross) of the summer.

Incorrect. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is going to be epic.

      • DT

Incorrect to your incorrect. Iception FTW!

  • Okai

Jackie Chan! Jackie Chan! Marmaduke! Satchels of Gold! Al Sharpton.
He’s terrifying. Kelly in drag. (Well, more drag than usual.)

  • Funback Joe

Oh my god! Someone bothering people on the street! This type of comedy will never get old!

That was all sarcasm, of course. I find it ironic this jackass is criticizing ‘art’. The movies he lambastes are bad, no doubt, But this guy is making crappy videos as well, and he makes no money on top of it.

  • Whatever

Hahaha what a crazy person. Love how he scares everyone he talks to ^^

  • E.

I’d run away from this guy too. It’s not okay to just ambush strangers on the street, especially in New York.

    • Dan

      haahahah ambush?
      calm down, loosen up

    • Dave

I’m with Dan. Calm down dude. And that part about “especially in New York”…are you serious? It’s not like he was running around threatening people.

  • Richard

    this really wasn’t funny…..just tedious.

  • Madd

I am sooooooo glad I didn’t run into this guy.

  • pastafarian

    That was hilarious

  • Heather

Yeah this year is rough for movies! There are probably only 4 movies I want to see in total when usually I want to see like 5 movies a month (20 movies total)

  • Katja

I feel like it shouldn’t have been funny for some reason, yet I was totally giggling the whole time. Especially at the “White girls, Jackie Chan!” “Oh, god!” exchange. I also enjoyed the woman who just sort of wailed in response to “Dakota Fanning!”
