Hank Azaria's Gargamel invades Manhattan, bumps into Barney Stinson

Tags: , Movies

Before you roll your eyes and unleash a thoughtless riposte to the rough footage of Hank Azaria portraying the evil Gargamel outside Manhattan’s FAO Schwartz for next year’s 3-D Smurf movie, remember that Smurfs are minute blue critters who live in mushroom-domed houses and somehow survive in the wild despite what mathematicians and common sense would agree is an extremely low birth rate. So picking on Azaria’s appearance or portrayal for being ridiculous or a caricature, well, that just isn’t smurfy. That said, have at it.

Why would anyone criticize Azaria being Gargamel? No one else could embrace the role more!

I am not sure of the modern day story with the Smurfs, because He-Man had modern day plot in it, and it tanked.
