I am far, far from a pre-teen and have become a huge fan of Lee’s. He has shown incredible growth to allow the richness of his voice and his passion emerge on stage. I think Crystal is a good and consistent singer and will find a career in music if she so chooses, she almost always sounds the same.
My votes are going to Lee. I think he deserves it, has worked for it and will continue to work and grow as America’s next American Idol.
I also hope they publish a duet because their energy together was phenomenal.

the truth is the top 2 are in a really good place making them both winners regardless of the numbers and who ultimately wins on TV. I think they were the 2 best of the season. Lee has shown tremendous growth as an entertainer whereas Crystal came in as one. I also expect that Casey has a career waiting for him in music if that’s the direction he wants to go. They’ve achieved recognizable national attention.

First of all I would like to say that I think Adam Lambert was the best singer on American Idol for any season
I wish season 8 was back because I think that was the best and because they all could sing.
Totally agree; Adam hands down the best singer ever to grace the Idol stage, he had it all; no one could rework a song like him. Last year best ever Idol.
I don’t know about the “best ever” but Adam L does have a great voice . . . To bad it all became about him wanting to flaunt his sexuality! The same will be the death of his career . . . In the real world, you hear very little about him that is not predicated with his “weirdness.”
They are idiots; Simon is always wrong anyways; wrong about Danny, Adam and Archie…however, this time he might be right on; yesterday on Ellen it was Lee last nite on the final it was Crystal…dialidol shows Lee.
And if they had predicted a win for Crystal, Slezak would’ve hyped her up even more. He’s so biased it’s not even funny.

The end to the season tonight with Lee being crowned as the winner (and I think he will be) will be disastrous for the Idol brand especially when you consider that he can’t sing in tune the majority of the time.
I don’t appreciate the judges making their predictions. I can respect the fact they have opinions but dont’ force a contestant in my face.
Lee, you have a good voice,but Crystal is way above you, I don’t know how you won Idol, but guaranteed next year, she will be again way above you. Think about someone other then yourself. Before the finals were announced, she was comforting you..big baby.
Well Lee won. But truth is it didn’t really matter who won anyway, both would have been equally successful. They both have different qualities that attract different groups of people. Vocally Crystal is better but yes- Lee is more marketable and he makes awesome awesome records even if he doesn’t sing that good live. Anyway they both are really really good friends and I really like that about them. Also personally I think that so far the best idols are Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert. A lot of people have been comparing Crystal to Adam but I have to disagree. Adam is way ahead of Crystal, he sings a variety of genres and his voice is just god-like. Meanwhile Crystal’s voice isn’t as flexible as Adam’s.
I was so disappointed in the AI final results, but I can’t say I was surprised. The judges may have influenced voting, but that is the “nature of the beast.” I really like Lee and expected him to be in the top 3 from early on BUT the truth is, Crystal was BY FAR the best and most original singer on the show this year and she will likely go on to a big career. I suspect that she lost out due to her unconventional look, which is sad. At the same time, I really wish the kids (and young adults) of today would break away from the tatooing. For the most part it just looks trashy, especially when they go so far overboard. I suspect most will look back when they are older and say “What the hell was I thinking?”
Gary, amen to that! I don’t get the whole tatoo thing. Most tats are like body graffiti – mostly an eyesore. Great post, Gary!
