Image Credit: David Giesbrecht/USA Network; Justin Stephens/ABCBrothers & Sisters‘ Dave Annable is in talks to replace White Collar‘s Matt Bomer in the Anna Faris comedy What’s Your Number? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bomer has a scheduling conflict with his USA series, so Annable will now play Faris’ dream guy in the film, about a woman (Faris), who upon sleeping with her 20th guy, realizes that it’s too many and she must have missed her Mr. Right along the way. He’ll join a cast that already includes Zachary Quinto, Joel McHale, and Chris Evans.
This is a nice break for Annable (and sounds 100 times better than his upcoming romcom with Katherine McPhee), but I can’t help thinking that Bomer is, in fact, dreamier. Discuss.

I think Dave Annable is a terrific actor, but I have to say that Matt Bomer is dreamier. Way way dreamier.
Bomer is gay and according to Newsweek he shouldn’t be playing straight characters anyways.
Every time someone writes an article or posts about that Newsweek article naming a gay actor I’m like “What? He’s gay?” I’m exhibit A on how off base that Newsweek article is.
Articles like that is why print media will soon be thing of the past…
Nancy I think you are rather stupid for bringing this up since half the actors in h’wood fall in this category and it’s called ACTING!!! Which by the way, Matt is great at.
Yeah, because of course nothing like that would ever appear on the internet.
Gee Nance, what trailer park are you from?Your first mistake is believing what you see in Newsweek.
I’m pretty sure she was being sarcastic.
Probably the stupidest comment I have ever read in my life. Even my five year old brother has more common sense and courtesy than you Nancy. It’s disappointing such close-minded ignorant fool like you actually exist in this world. And as for Matt being gay, so what? That’s why this is acting, it’s not real life. And Matt Bomer can play lead romantic straight men better than most straight men can even be straight in real life. I don’t see why that’s a problem. He’s shown on Traveler, Chuck, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Guiding Light, Tru Calling, and White Collar just how amazing he can be and how he can pull off the straight man act like it’s nobody’s business. So I don’t see him being gay here is even an issue, and if a casting director overlooks Matt because of his sexual orientation, well then it’s their loss.
I think Dave Annable will be way better in this role – he’s proved himself more than Matt Bomer. So far we know MB can play one role really well, but DA has rocked my socks off in Noble Son, Brothers & Sisters, and did his little RomCom bit in Bride Wars.
Dave Annable was not in Bride Wars. You have to be thinking of either Steve Howey or Bryan Greenberg.
It was in fact Bryan Greenburg in both of those…and he’s a way better actor that Da
Not even a contest, Mr. Bomer leaves virtually any actor in the dust.
@Josie – idiotic logic – what about Zach, Zack, Lee, John, Tom etc.
Wow, Nancy, intelligent comment there. Thanks for bringing that to the table.
And no, Josie, we have seen MB play way more roles than just Neal Caffrey. He was excellent in Traveler (completely different), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (polar opposite to White Collar), and great as Bryce Larkin on Chuck, among other things.
He would have been great in this movie, but he’s needed elsewhere. Shame, but there will be other (and even better) opportunies for him.
Don’t forget how great he was in his first big role as that of “Ben Reade” on the dearly department “Guiding Light”. That was some of the best acting of his career.
Mr. Bomer superior actor and obviously better looking. He’s played Bryce Larkin, Luc on Tru Calling, Traveller.
Leave this cameo for Dave, Matt is destined for bigger things than romantic comedies. And as for looks, get real, no contest, Matt has redefined hot!
I’ll take Joel McHale over either one.
I’ll second that! Soooo Meaty!
Dave Annabel is really good on B&S (the only project I’ve seen with him), and I’d say he kind of falls into the adorable camp. If we’re talking dreamy, Bomer all the way. And we know he plays the romantic lead well if you saw him opposite Yvonne Strahovski in Chuck. Damn! I’m a fan of DA and will see this movie anyways due to the great cast, but now I’ll not be able to help picturing Bomer in the role. But at least we get him back on White Collar soon!
If you look up dreamy in the dictionary there’s a pic of Bomer.
Nancy – ironic since Matt comes off so much more butch in White Collar, Chuck, etc. compared to Dave in his roles.
Is this even for real? Obviously Matty is.
No way. Annable all the way. Take a look at his pic in InStyle. Yum.
Leave the ensemble spots for Dave, Matt is the leading man type – swoon…
