The Web is going crazy for Greyson, the young man who performed a killer cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at his sixth-grade festival. (Watch it after the jump, along with the Lady Gaga acoustic performance that no doubt inspired him.) His voice is amazing. The little girls love him. (Jezebel has some nice screengrabs.) And I’m personally obsessed with his decision not to say the word “eyeliner” but to leave in “cigarettes.” Also, his ability to make me experience a pang for Taylor Hanson.
Could we be looking at the next Bieber? Should you think he’s a one-hit wonder, we’ve also embedded two of his original songs: “Stars” (about a woman dying of cancer) and “Broken Hearts” (he begins the performance by fixing his hair, but don’t let that stop you from watching).

Might have to do with the quality of the clip, but there doesn’t appear to be anything great about his singing ability. Good piano skills, though. But then again, I don’t listen to Bieber, so I have nothing to compare to.

Right??!!! Those girls are nuts. At least they smiled and a few of them applauded with some enthusiasm. That kid sings quite well, particularly for a boy of his age, but honestly – he can sing well for a person of any age. Good falsetto, good fearless belting, and good piano skills.
yeahhh I’m pretty sure he forgot the lyrics when the “eyeliner” part came up. It makes sense, he’s just a kid and was probably nervous. It was not a grand artistic decision.

He already has offers. But his parents said they’re not going to pursue anything until Greyson finishes the school year, which ends in two weeks. And I don’t thinks it’s necessary to put down one kid in order to raise up the other one. Both Greyson and Justin are nice kids with a lot of talent. If they’re music isn’t your cup of tea, that’s fine. But why do people have to trash either one of them. They’re kids for god’s sake. Be happy for both of them.
I really enjoyed that. He has a nice tone to his voice and plays the piano well. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him everywhere in a few years time. He’s not R&B like Bieber though so that might actually hurt his career prospect rather than help them. I listened to one of his own songs and, while the sound quality isn’t great, I actually quite liked it.
This kid has some seriously mature infliction in his voice. I would love to hear “Broken Hearts” in a better quality.

Great piano player, nice enough voice. However, anyone who has ever heard GaGa do her acoustic of Paparazzi knows he’s just imitating her. Down to the dialect she uses – everything. Not saying he isnt talented, he is.
