'Jersey Shore' to add new castmembers for Season Two

Jersey-Shore-showImage Credit: Scott Gries/MTVMTV’s Jersey Shore is currently filming its second season in Miami, but the network and producers have big changes in store for when the series returns to Seaside Heights, N.J. in July to finish filming — namely, we’ll see some brand new faces. While recent reports have stated that these new faces won’t be seen until season 3, EW has learned that these casting additions will actually be made in the second half of season 2, which premieres July 29. Once the original cast finishes filming the Miami stint at the end of May, production will take a break and then move back in July to finish filming the rest of the season. It’s unknown at this point how many new people will be added, or whether or not original cast members will be replaced. Please don’t take away my Snooki!

What do you think about potentially seeing some new Jersey Shore cast members, PopWatchers? Who from the original cast would you like to see go?

I was away from a computer for about the last five days, but, um…season 3?!

(I enjoy this show, but seriously?!)

  • LOL

I’ve never met one person who watches this show.

    • this show is a virus

      consider yourself lucky

Must be a geographic thing. I live in NJ and work in NYC, and I don’t know a single person 18-34 that hasn’t at least watched one episode.

It was appointment viewing for my husband and I. We considered it a guilty pleasure! Loved it. If it’s geographic – we are Boston transplants – overly educated 30 somethings. And we found it awesomely hilarious entertainment. At least last season – I don’t know that it can be redone – even with the same crew. I think it was probably a one hit wonder for the type of enjoyment it brought us.

I live at the Jersey Shore and grew up here as well. At first when I heard about the show – I could care less…and then I watched it…holy crap – a bit like watching a train wreck…you want to turn away – but you just can’t…I got sucked in and watched the entire season…it was actually entertaining and I’ll watch Season 2 as well. Its not the Jersey Shore that gets a bad name…it just reinforces the stereotypical Italian Americans who live in New Yawk…and “come to da Shaw faw a good toy’m!”

I just have to say… get out of Seaside. I live right there and this summer is going to be horrible because we will not only have Bennys but then all of the fans of Jersey Shore. It is going to be miserable. So I don’t really care that there will be more cast members, I mean I obviously do because I am reading the article. I don’t mean to be bitter, but don’t they now have to think about the amount of people that will be following the cast? Especially at Seaside? I don’t think MTV has their safety in mind.

I watched the first episode of JS and haven’t been right since. My soul hurts. I’ve tried drinking holy water, electro-shock therapy…pretty much willing to try anything at this point.

I’m getting my TV exorcised the day of the premiere. That’s how I’m getting rid of it.

  • Vince from NYC

The original cast made the show. It’s going to be hard to top them. Being that I am Italian American from the east coast I can say that most “Guidos” (The tan dudes on steroids) are all carbon copies of each other so I think adding or replacing cast members will be lame will be kind of lame.

    First they came for Snooki…

The more drama the better. This show was a guilty pleasure! Didn’t miss one episode!

  • Piranha

One season of this was a tasty morsel of low brow entertainment, but in no way are these mutants interesting enough to sustain another season. And it’s not even in NJ anymore!!!! They had better enjoy their 15 minutes of fame, because this gravy train will be pulling into the station really soon.

  • italianboy

It is not geographic. I am Italian and I came from Italy and they give Italians a bad name. They make us look stupid. I saw one show and that was enough. The show needs to go.

I am going out on a limb here & saying the NEW members of the cast of which they speak, is because Mtv knows the original cast can’t be out & about in Seaside like they were last summer since they blew up, which is part of the reason why they chose to film in Miami, where its already warm & prolly the mansion they got them living in is bigger & the CLUBS are much larger, and they can film, like the Real World & not have to worry about crowd control, or fellow ticked off NJ residents. New faces mean they don’t have to worry bout people acting crazy cause they won’t recognize the new people like they would SNooki or the Situation. They can say they are filming a new reality series, although I’d be willing to bet, anyone in Seaside this summer will know whats up!

New cast members also means MTV isn’t held hostage by future salary negotiations. They’ll just fire whoever they want and keep the new faces.

tight that new cast members are coming, but dont replace the old cast. If any thing get a bigger house and thats it. I would like to see snooki go, but no matter what situation, let the sitaution stay, because he makes that show. Love the situation!

Snooki is great The Situation sucks my big toe

    • GeeMoney

Agreed. Too many cooks spoil the broth.

  • Deo

Bad idea. It also sucks that horrible Angelina got to come back.

    • wizard62

Angelina’s back? I thought the cast didn’t want her around and she was dropped from the show? Whatever…as long as Mike “the situation” comes back, then so will I. That guy is hilarious.

  • GeeMoney

I personally think that this new season is going to suck. Too much publicity, too many EW posts and too much of the producers trying to fake situations to make this show good (because that seems to be the case in every second season of every reality show) is what is already turning me away. Not to mention, the fact that it’s too easy nowadays to make money off of making a fool out of yourself on national television is a big turnoff, as well.
