What is it about this clip from last night’s Tonight Show that warms my heart enough not to make a joke about Nicolas Cage’s hair? (Actually, it was looking as good as it’s going to look blond.) I think it’s the sincerity in his voice when Jay Leno brings out Adam West (also looking quite good) to face off against Cage in a Batman trivia contest. “Thank you for saving my childhood,” Cage says. Ah, man.
Not surprisingly, West defeated Cage 4 to 3. Though props to Cage for knowing Alfred’s full name. The good news: Cage’s new film, Kick-Ass, appears to be a winner (read our review).

I thought Alfred had a hyphenated name… The-Butler.
Come on, Cage was being kind.
Ha, I knew it was Pennyworth! But seriously, Adam West is the man (and the best part of Family Guy)!
I don’t get EW’s constant coverage of The Tonight Show now that Leno’s back. Anyway, Adam West is awesome, this debate was awesome, and Nic Cage’s hair looks awful. Hopefully the role he dyed it for is more Leaving Las Vegas, less Bangkok Dangerous.
Because it’s number one in the ratings and funny both of which Conan’s show wasn’t.
It’s number 1 if you are pushing 60.
Adam West is my hero.
How did a Superman fan as big as Cage not know Superman came first?
I think he does know. No way was he going to try to beat an older actor he admires, especially one he considers saved his childhood. Cage may be eccentric, but he has a good heart. He looked so thrilled to meet Batman!
That was a nice bit, but I could barely focus on the clip from Kick-Ass because it used the music from the climactic scene in 28 Days Later.
THAT’S where I heard that! I knew it from somewhere.
Boom! I’ve been trying to figure out what that music was as well.
Anyone know who performs it?
Holy obvious! Adam West: The only REAL Batman!
Nic Cage is such a no-talent-ass-clown, and don’t even try to defend him.
