Clip du jour: We've got company!

We’ve got a supercut: Here are dozens of characters uttering the freakishly overused “we’ve got company,” which zero people have ever said in real life ever:

Can you think of any movies or shows this cut missed, PopWatchers? [via Unique Daily]

I’m now primed for “I’m too old for this sh!t” or “There’s something I think you should see.”

What about “At least it can’t get any worse” or “what’s the worst that could happen”

  • Michael Perkins

There’s a great moment in the otherwise trashy “Con Air” where Danny Trejo triumphantly bellows, “Weeeeeee’ve got companyyyyyyyyy!”

LOL I’m watching The Bone Collector on AMC right now and about 20 seconds after I watched this clip, Queen Latifah said “Looks like we’ve got company.” :D

Wonder if this is in Ebert’s glossary

About an hour and a half ago they said it in Live Free or Die Hard on FX and I thought to myself “I never want to hear that sentence ever again.” And then I saw this.

grease 2 – i think it’s luis? or goose? can’t remember which. one of them says it when the rival motorcycle game rolls on to the track at the high school near the beginning of the movie.
also, i’ve said this phrase before, it’s not so unrealistic.

Come to think of it, I don’t think I have ever heard anyone in real life say this. But, it doesn’t sound too unrealistic. And in a lot of these clips, it is just being said purely because it is a cliche.

Interesting. A lot of these movies are critically acclaimed. Guess that can’t stop cliches.

I’d now like a montage of “I’ll see you in hell” and “Nooooo!”

Company is one of those words that starts to sound really weird the more you say it. Company company company company.

Yes! The Star Wars one is included! I would have been most put out had it not been.
And I’ve been noticing a lot of “I don’t know what you’re talking about” when someone accuses a person of something they actually do know about. It’s always so obvious because it just sounds super cliche and insincere. I bet you could get a lengthy supercut out of that line!
