Did you enjoy watching Mark Wahlberg flex his very attractive funny muscles in Date Night this weekend? Well, you’re lucky: The actor stars alongside Will Ferrell in Columbia’s August comedy, The Other Guys. The trailer’s just been released, and I’ll tell ya, I’m getting the same confused feeling I get when I wake up eating a big, red candle. I mean, I know a thing or two about the police world. (I worked with my college’s innocence project…oh, who am I kidding? I get most of my legal knowledge from numerous episodes of Law & Order.) But I can’t for the life of me figure out what kind of cops Ferrell and Wahlberg are supposed to be. As well as what kind of case they’re working on.
But honestly, when it comes to Ferrell and director/frequent collaborator Adam McKay, does it really matter? I would still see the film, even if the trailer stunk more than a whole wheel of cheese.
What do you think of the trailer, PopWatchers? Also, do you, like me, find it interesting how much taller Ferrell is than Wahlberg?

“From the director of ‘Step Brothers’ and ‘Talladega Nights’”
Really? No mention of “Anchorman” (at least Kate mentioned it at least twice in her post.)
The Rock’s presence kind of reminded me of “Get Smart” (not a compliment) where he was the cool agent and the nerdy guy looked up to him.
Also, Michael Keaton! (Hopefully he’ll actually get something to do.)
This looks like comedy gold!
First of, anytime someone quotes Anchorman I will quote it back, you dirty pirate hooker.
Also, MICHAEL KEATON I’VE MISSED YOU. And I’m hoping there won’t be some lame Will-Eva-Mark love triangle. I loved all the other Adam McKay movies (and that Funny or Die video Green Team).
And where did Samuel L. Jackson get his clothes from, the toilet store?
Really? Even the guy who can’t think said something!
Champ I think I ate your chocolate squirrel.
LOUD NOISES!!!!
I will watch it. I love Will and Mark!
Steve Coogan! Almost every American movie you’re in is terrible! Why do you keep making me go see terrible movies?
So I guess I’m seeing this.
I love scotch. Scotchy, scotchy, scotch.
Also, I’m totally going to this. Ferrell + McKay = a movie that gets my money. I also cannot figure out for the life of me what their case is, but I’m not sure I care. I hope this lives up to it’s potential as a send up of action-cop films.
No, she gets a special cologne… It’s called Sex Panther by Odeon. It’s illegal in nine countries… Yep, it’s made with bits of real panther, so you know it’s good. This film looks damn funny!!
This is the movie that Cop Out wanted to be. But Kevin Smith has no talent!
Looks very funny. Plus as an Office fan, I love that David Wallace is channeling the Michael Scott voice in that trailer.
This is the movie Cop Out wanted to be. I actually laughed at this trailer, as opposed to cringed like when I seen the trailer for op Out. I can’t wait.
STOP HUMMING
My butt is in the theater when this opens. I’m riding a furry tractor!
I have many leather bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
Oh Baxter, you cut to the core of me. You’re so wise. Like a furry little Buddha, covered in hair.
I’m still laughing at “the toughest city in the world.” They filmed a lot of those car chases in Albany. Real tough.
