'SNL': Tina Fey will revive Sarah Palin impersonation

And she’s probably running through the sketch RIGHT NOW. Yesterday morning, Tina Fey confirmed on NBC’s Today that she plans to spoof Sarah Palin again on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. “I haven’t been watching her on television lately because I’ve been working on 30 Rock,” she said. That’s one reason!

Back in October, when Sarah Palin was merely a best-selling author instead of a best-selling author/TV star, Fey teased fans about her civic duty to impersonate Palin again, and 90 percent of EW.com readers voted “You betcha!” when we asked if she should do it (pretty much against her will). Still feel the same way? Is this a rhetorical question?

She’s good looking, smart, manipulative, mean spirited like all conservatives, and way too ignorant for high office.
She can’t wait for the end of days – just the person you want in charge of the ‘nuclear football’….
She’s not going away because our bottom feeding, main stream media is making money covering her.

  • TorontoTom

Can’t wait – SNL might be actually be funny this weekend!

    • Ramo

Only if Tina takes over the writer’s room herself. Reclaim your territory and show this joke of a writing staff how it’s done, Tina!

Sorry to see such semi-talents as Fey resorting to doing the same old characters all the time.

She can be handed all the Emmys she wants for 30 Shlock, but most people still know her only from SOL and that tired Sarah Pukin bit. Gilda Radner she ain’t.

Ed, Roseanne Roseannadanna and Babwa Wawa, not to mention many others, were repeat characters. It’s what made it funny, you had something to look forward to with a reoccuring character. (Oh, I hope the Bee guy will be on…ooh Church Lady tonight!) I’d take Fey’s “semi-talent” as you put it, over just about anyone else. She’s funny and smart, some people don’t like that. Gilda Radner and Tina Fey are a step above the rest, but they are on that step together.

  • LOL

Palin is the gift that keeps on giving. As long as she keeps her face on TV, she’s ripe for spoofing. Can’t wait until she goes away for good.

  • gigi

    Yeah, Yeah, Tina’s doing Palin…*yawn* Who’s hosting?

    • Michael H.

I think Tina Fey is hosting? She has a movie opening this weekend to promote – DATE NIGHT

  • Flash Rightways

Tina Fey will always be a pale imitation of the great woman that Sarah Palin is.

    • Zoe

Except Palin would spell it “pail imitation,” Flash.

      • LOL

        Zoe rules!

    GOP fears Fey

I’m actually so fed up with Palin(who became famous for doing nothing) that I don’t wanna see Fey do the impersonation. there IS a lot of material there and NBC could use the ratings, but Palin’s another faux celeb like Jon and Kate who just needs to vanish.

  • skiiboski

Isn’t Betty White co-hosting this thing?

    • Jackie

She’s hosting Mother’s Day weekend in May, and it’s not just Fey who’s going to be on there but a lot of other female SNL alumni (that’s the plural, right, alumni?) including Amy Poehler.

Sarah Palin and her supporters are sad, stupid, probably racist individuals just begging to made fun of. I for one laugh at them from my elitist high horse every day. Perhaps i’ve been brainwashed by Obama and the Democratic party no wait I mean the “Chicago political machine” because somehow I can be both an elitist intellectual and brainwashed. I don’t know bout you other brainwashed people out there but this socialist and traitor to my country could sure use a little Tina Fey impersonating Palin’s idiocy right now. Perhaps she’ll even tackle the birther movement which is hands down the STUPIDEST conspiracy theory out there right now. Even my Fox News watching grandmother knows that Obama’s birth certificate is real.

    • The Truth

It’s funny how make generalizations about Palin supporters, yet somehow you seem convinced that you aren’t brainwashed. Yes, we’re “racist” simply because we didn’t vote for your “savior”.

      • LOL

Only right wing tools use words like “savior” and “messiah” to describe Obama. The rest of us just want a good president.

  • Bob in Tennessee

The wonderfully talented Tina Fey, who helped us understand how very dingy Palin is in the first place, will be fun to watch. I hope Palin is the nominee in 2012–the Republican still won’t get it when she loses…

  • Chris Dziubla

Will Kristin be Michelle Bachmann? (sp?)

  • Kyle

Well Sadly, Obama is screwing things up so much that can’t even be a marginal president, and in my opinion, he’s gonna get nailed in two years.

But, I am looking forward to seein Palin getting spoofed again. It’ll boost SNL’s ratings.
