Image Credit: Janet Mayer/PR PhotosAnyone who watched season 4 of Project Runway knows the name Christian Siriano. They also know that the fierce, trannylicious pixie is completely ridiculous. Fortunately, that includes Christian Siriano himself, which is what makes him someone you want to root for. Over the years, Heidi and Tim’s Darwinian diva smackdown has had its share of memorable personalities. But none were as memorable as Siriano. The guy was the definition of “good TV” right alongside The Situation and Bethenny from The Real Housewives of New York. Plus, he knows how to make a hell of a gown. He’s the rare reality star who backed up his outrageousness with actual talent.
Last night, after a long Siriano dry spell on the small screen, he was finally back in Bravo’s hour-long one-off Christian Siriano: Having a Moment. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. After all, as much as we love second-chance Anthony on Runway this season, the show’s getting long in the tooth and could really use a pinch of Siriano to spice things up. Anyway, the special followed the daffy designer on the eve of his first big New York runway show. And we got to see his boyfriend (a possibly envious, but ultimately supportive, singer of dubious talent), his design partner (who frankly seemed to be the one doing most of the heavy lifting), and his mom (adorably smothering and proud). Siriano was in rare form, juggling last-minute details, demanding celebrities (hello, Mena Suvari!), and fixing his hair in the mirror every five seconds. So how were the clothes? For the most part terrific — there was one red, pink, and white ruffled number that was a total showstopper. Would I want to see a weekly version of this? Not really. It would get tired real quick. But all in all, it was a pleasant reminder that at least some reality stars’ 15 minutes keep ticking after the final Auf Wiedersehen.
Did you see Christian Siriano: Having a Moment? What did you think?

great tv .. since i’m a fan of project runway
Love love loved it! Would enjoy seeing him every week. I think the fact that he doesn’t take himself too seriously makes him very watchable. He’s fierce and he knows it, yet doesn’t seem to buy into all the hype that is Christian Siriano. (What a FABULOUS name btw.) And his clothing line is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Just for the record this was not his first big runway show. It was his 3rd. Regardless I liked the fact he was charming without being obnoxious and the special maintained a gracious air that focused more on his career success.
I’m a fan. He’s talented. And it’s always nice to see a reality tv star actually have success at something more than being a reality tv star.
How could you compare Christian to those two sk*anks The Situation and Bethenny.
I agree, Soriano has actual talent
I LOVE Christian and thanks to Bravo for reminding me why.
Missed this! PR peaked with Christian (and his fellow finalists). It will just never hit that perfect level of crazy-funny and crazy-talented. He had it all in one spiky-haired little package.
ITA 110%! I keep watching PR, hoping for some of that wonderful season 4 goodness but I am always disappointed. I really think the show peaked at season 4. I also think you can’t compare Christian to the other reality stars since he actually has TALENT! He’s not just some famewhore. His talent has kept him relevant after the show wrapped. I’m almost tempted to buy the season 4 dvds just to see the awesome episodes again because no matter how funny Anthony may be, he doesn’t hold a candle to Christian, either in funny quips or in actual design prowess. Christian’s clothes were GORGEOUS and forward thinking at the same time.
You can still watch it over at hulu.
Christian made the fashion industry real. It was also fun to see Christian since Project Runway. We want more of Christian on Bravo!
Love him!
Christian is adorable, not to mention extremely talented. I think this would work as a series. Start with conceptualizing the new season and being able to see Christian bring them to life would be great. It is amazing that he is so talented…barely more than a boy.
Can’t wait to watch it. Loved that little hot tranny mess.
he’s great !! bravo give him a show~~
if you thought his boyfriend was “possibly envious, but ultimately supportive” then you missed the sarcasm. and i bought all his albums on itunes, have you heard him? there’s nothing dubious about his talent.
it was great to be reminded why he won project runway..his clothes are beautiful…and it’s wonderful to see someone enjoying his artform while making money and supporting his MOM..good for you christian!
You’re a tickety-tack tranny, hot mess, out-of-control, super tranny from Transylvania who is not apologizing for it. (Fierrrrccccce!)
I wish they would have shown his runway collection a la PR finales. And it amazed me how much his clothes retail for!!
