The new trailer for the Angelina Jolie thriller Salt is selling the movie as a Bourne-esque chase flick. But the pedigree behind the film — director Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, The Quiet American), screenwriter Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River), cinematographer Robert Elswit (There Will Be Blood) — suggests that there might be a lot more going on beneath this film’s sleek exterior. Or maybe Salt will simply be an action thriller fine-tuned for maximum adrenaline-rising impact. Either way, this trailer gets my blood pumping, for who doesn’t enjoy watching Ms. Jolie run around in full kick-ass mode?

If you think that, then you haven’t seen many of her films other then the Laura Croft films.
All of her action films are the same old thing over and over again – not just the Laura Croft films.
She’s very good at doing the same role over and over….Mr&Mrs. Smith, Wanted, even the Changeling….but you know what? She’s got a younger girl who can do the same d**mn thing: Zoe Saldana…is making action movies and kicking butt too.
I would hope the world can contain more than one woman who gets to do action movies.

In Mr. and Mrs. Smith she’s an assassin. I love that she plays such strong female characters whether it’s a spy movie or a drama like A Mighty Heart. Angelina is a genius.
I can’t wait to see SALT. This trailer is much better than the first one, it has more substance.

I have to agree with you. I really wish Jenn Aniston would take on more challenging roles. Like her role in The Good Wife. She’s capable of it but she keeps signing on to weak romantic comedies.

Count me among the Angelina lovers. Not only is she still sooooo hot, but she can act, and I love her in action movies(that’s where she’s made her living); she’s a more marketable star than that old guy she’s with now, lol! Can’t wait for ‘Salt’!!!
I haven’t seen any of her action movies and this is the only one that actually looks worth seeing so I’m excited. I think she’s a really good dramatic actress.
