I would like to know what America is voting for. Is any one taking into consideration that the winner gets a record deal? Can anyone, even the tweenies, say that they would buy a Tim Urban CD? Probably not. Even the teen girls that are voting for him will probably just buy a poster of him for their wall and never sit through a whole song by him.
Crystal is a good singer but I’m not voting for her because if I want to hear that kind of music I’ll just turn on VH1 and watch a Melissa Etherage video.
If the winner is some one who just appeals to teens their carreer will last maybe 2 or 3 years tops. I mean how many of you in your late teens are still listening to Hillary Duff?
I guess what I’m trying to say is think about what kind of music you realy like, then realy listen to the contestants before you start pushing buttons. All they are allowed to sing is covers now but what kind of originals will they put out? Does anyone realy want to hear Arron Kelly sing a country song about how his real Mom done him wrong but his Aunt Mom made him strong? Don’t base your votes on looks or voice alone. Vote for some one that you think will entertain you for years to come with great music.
Personally I think Siobhan would make one hell of an alternative rock album with a hint of pop and retro classic rock, like Fiona Apple meets David Bowie. Thats why I’m voting for her.
Big Mike would be like Luther Vandros with Usher trapped inside of him.
Casey would hire a band and become a Nickleback clone. I like Nickleback by the way so I’m not insulting Casey
Didi would be somewhere between Kelly Clarkson, Tori Amos and Pink. Didi is my second favorite after Siobhan.
This is just my opinion and I know it don’t account for much to anyone but me so form your own opinion and vote wisely because once they win your stuck with them.

I’m not disagreeing with you, Voice of Reason …in fact, I think what you say is right on …except for, maybe the Casey comment …I think he has some real yet untapped potential …especially in the blues dept. … but what I really want to know is if we’re gonna be able to pick who’s going home like we were able to do last year? So, my question is more aimed at Michael Slezak than anything. I have been waiting till we reached the final 12 to see if this was going to be the case this year too. I rather enjoyed participating in the endeavor, even if, perhaps, I didn’t excel in it. It still was fun to be a part of. So, my question to Michael is: Are we going to participate in predicting who goes home this season or not??
How did it work last year? Sadly I wasn’t around then. I only started to watch this year. My last job had me on the road a lot so the only time I listened to music was in my travels and then I was stuck with CDs I already owned or local radio but a few months back I heard “Already Gone” for the first time and I loved it. When I found out that it was an Idol winner’s work I had to start paying attention so by all means, please bring me up to date.
