So the rumors were true: Jake gave Vienna the final rose, while Tenley lost her chance at love forever. If you believe the After the Final Rose interview with the “happy” “couple,” they’re still engaged and blissfully in love, or whatever. Counting down from this exact moment, how long do you give this relationship? Another 15 minutes? Three weeks? A month? Are there any of you out there who believe that this time next year Jake and Vienna will pull a Jason and Molly and head to the altar?
The other big news, of course, is the “surprise” announcement that Ali will be the new Bachelorette. I think you all know how I feel about Ali (a.k.a. Queen of Bitch Mountain), but even I can admit that I’ll be watching, simply because I cannot help myself. What about you, rose-lovers? I have the same sour, disappointed feeling with Ali’s upcoming season as I did when Jake was announced. Could we possibly have a happy person with personality and sense of humor, or am I unicorn hunting? No, no I think it’s happened before…Jillian…Bob Guiney…surely we could have some fun with this. I think that when Ali had a call from her job about leave time and had to “decide” AND because she was popular with fans by then, she was given an offer she couldn’t refuse…the Next Bachelorette…Which I am sure must compensate them some financially… She jumped. How else could the show has “reacted” the phone at both ends. Some people will hate my comment.. But here goes… Jake has a wild and adventurous side. Vienna was trashed in the tabloids are mostly lies and rumours and I am happy for them…. Let’s watch and see where it goes…. If we always went with what the popular vote and what the majority “approved” of, the world would be an even more messed up place WOULDN’T IT???

The producers had decided they wanted Ali to be the next Bachelorette so they came up with the work excuse to pull her from the show. She couldn’t be the next Bachelorette if Jake had picked her at the end.

Thank you!!! Someone who “gets it” like I do. I am honestly happy for them. The chemistry wasn’t there with Tenley. She belongs in a disney cartoon like The Little Mermaid or Aladdin…. She needs to date some more and live a little. I am in the minority like you and Jake chose the girl he loves who wanted to be with him from the beginning. I wish them well and had tears of happiness rolling down my face.

Vienna doesn’t exactly radiate goodness, but certainly you must understand that the show edited her the way they wanted to portray her – and it’s probably much more negative than reality. And you fell for it.
I must have been watching something you all were not. Even I could “feel” the love these two have for each other. I don’t know why everyone hated Vienna, I loved her. I cannot stand Ali, she was the real bitch in all of this. Her whimpering drove me crazy. I saw realness in Vienna and who the freak cares what others thought, she was there for Jake not to make nicee with the other gals. I for one am happy for Jake and Vienna and the rest of you who cares.
Vienna and Jake obviously had chemistry and a sweet, playful romance. Tenley was adorable but Jake couldn’t be himself around her… He was always too careful. I get his relationship with Vienna and wish them the best.

I am on the Jake and Vienna bandwagon, and I did not start out liking her. He seems to be crazy about her and in the end he’s the one who has to climb in bed with her at night. Tenly was sweet but that doesn’t automatically make her right for Jake.

I am OK with Ali – I figured she ditched the show before Jake picked her because she wanted more men to choose from and hedged her bets she’d be the next Bachelorette. She “won” in a way. After tonight’s show, I was very impressed with Tenley’s class and maturity. Sure she has an annoying little voice, but I vote for her to be a Bachelorette and bring some real class to the show.
I really think Tenley needs to take some time off from dating. Sounded like she jumped from her divorce to Jake. She needs to grow, gain some independance, figure out who she is and what she wants. It was clear as she tried to force Jake to nail down a reason he rejected her, that she needs to mature a bit. It’s reason enough that he doesn’t want you, Hun.

Everything Tenley needed to know as to why Jake didn’t select her was revealed on the yacht. He said something to the effect that there was no passion. Emotion plenty, but raw, genuine passion was lacking. Notice he handled Tenley differently from Vienna. He couldn’t keep his hands off Vienna. He could manhandle Vienna and she would take it, but with Tenley he was much more of a gentleman. Perhaps he thought Tenley was too “good” and incapable of getting “down and dirty” with him in that raw animal passionate way.
Actually, she needs to date MORE. She had never gone on another date (let alone kissed anyone) since her separation. She needs to get out there, meet people, and learn about what she really wants next time. Or how about this idea: Be a strong, independent woman on your own? You’re only in your 20s for gosh sakes.
There’s no way, if Jake is normal and well balanced, that they will make it to the alter. Then again, if he’s as messed up about relationships as I think he is, he’ll marry Vienna and regret it far too late to save himself. Quite frankly, I think he deserves what he gets. Did you notice how Tenley talked through the whole “break up” and completely let Jake off the hook?
She really is classy, and handled the break up very maturely. Poor thing, I hope they give her some free sessions with a therapist so she can move beyond two bad break ups. Good for her for asking the hard questions—even if mr morals totally avoided answering.
You’re right on, Rio! This was the most major “WTF”??? on TV, ever!! I mean, that girl is unbalanced, at best (Vienna). Its so obvious that Jake was referring to ‘sex appeal’ that he ‘lacked’ with Tenley. She was simply too good for him, Mr. Boring! There’s plenty of wash-board abs out there but ya’ know what? Young washboards become old washboards! Testicles drop; dementia sets in and men can’t get it up anymore. But I have a feeling that there’s a restraining order in the nearer future for Vienna and Jake than worries about his losing his ‘manhood’ in his later years! As for Ali and being the next “Bachleorette” she’s cute enough but she wines! OH MY GOD!! I think they asked Tenley and Gia first; and Ali was a third choice (Tenley and Gia just had too much class for that crap on national TV again–touche, girls!). To add, Ali’s BS with choosing between Jake and her job was either a ‘squeeze play’ (i.e., she wanted Jake to make a move on her, re: beg her to stay) or it was scripted. PLLUUUUEEEssseeee!!! Well, should be interesting next season. I was hooked on these dummies til the end this time so I’m not the smartest one in the room, either! lol! Oh, and did everybody forget about that putz, Jason??? The gall of commercializing his wedding to Molly after ‘dumping’ Melissa on the final episode two seasons ago! I’m not that hooked (or that much of a loser) that I have to watch that putz’s TV wedding! He’s the biggest jerk of all, in my opinion! Why are all these young people soooooo desperate?? Has our society raised expectations that much without claiming real values? Geez, I’m ready for an episode of ‘The Waltons’ I think–I’m worn out!

As Jake said, it doesn’t matter whether we understand it or not, it is what it is. And whether they last or not, he loves her more than Tenley, thus Tenley would not have been the right choice for him (whether they would have lasted or not). That’s just the fact of the matter. You cannot explain love… I am rooting for them, because they seem happy, but just like in real life, you can’t predict what will happen in the future until it happens.

I went into this season a happy, if naive fan of the ‘boring, eye pleasing nice guy type.’ I had no problem with the selection of Jake as the Bachelor. Well, so much for optimism. This season is enough to make me want to try out cynicism for a change. Jake is now officially an idiot and I have no interest is watching Ali as the bachelorette. My prediction for the lifespan of Jake&Vienna: the length of the Dancing with the Stars season. The thought of Jake dancing with Vienna cheering him on is truly cringe worthy. I just feel bad for Chris Harrison now having to defend Jake’s ridiculous decision.

I am not excited with Ali as the new bachelorette. I hope Jake will be happy with Vienna. It seems that she is the right one “for him”. He kept mentioning the chemistry and the “heat”. Jake said that he could be himself with Vienna–playful, goofy, passionate. It would be nice if it works out, even though everyone was against her. Next, Jake will perform on “Dancing With the Stars”. I would not be surprised if he does not do so much flying, and does something with tv or even modeling. Once these people get a taste of fame, they like to continue-i.e. Melissa. Glad that Jason and Molly are happy and got married. That ABC production will be shown next Monday night. Even with the problems of this type of show, sometimes people do find their true love–even if only a few!!
