What events are you most excited for, PopWatchers?

It’s amazing to me how fast the U.S. seems to turn over its figure skaters, when other countries have the same athletes competing year after year.
On a sad note, I just read that Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili was killed after he went off the course during a practice run. Let’s all hope for a safe Games for ALL Olympians.
That’s so sad. May he rest in peace.
when your body is hitting something at 85 miles an hour, it doesn’t matter what padding is there, you are going to do too much damage. The human body is not meant to hit objects at that speed.
How could they have not some type of padding or netting to prevent them from hitting a steel pole. Ridiculous.
Shamrock, I completely agree.
Hopefully, this will send a message to the IOC for safety improvements for Sochi in 2014.
I don’t think any amount of padding would have helped him at the speeds he was traveling
This tragic death just adds to a few Olympians that have gotten injured or worse… and this is before the torch is lit in Vancouver.
He was only 21 yrs old and his first Olympics. My condolences to his family.
Very Sad and tragic. Hope everyone stays safe out there.
That picture looks all kinds of…
that was my first reaction too..lol
Thank you SO much for posting this! Like you said, NBC’s tv listings are annoying to navigate, and on top of that, they keep on freezing my internet browser. Yay for being able to actually follow the Olympics live!
Too bad they barely show anything actually live!
she is so pretty, latinloversmatch
Thank you for the listing the schedule. So much easier. Of course, I’m looking forward to watching ice skating.
How heartbreaking to lose a young person doing the thing he loved. My condolences to his family and friend and competors.
Actually, Shen and Zhao are in their 4th Olympics…(!)together. I mean if you’re gonna make a big deal out of it, get it right.
Does anyone know if we are going to see any curling matches?
I think they are showing on msnbc between hockey games.
Looks like they are going to be streaming them online too.
thanks guys
Is Lindsay Vonn gonna compete? Wasn’t she injured?
Either way, Canada is going to beat you Yanks!!!! GO CANADA!
I’m sure you’re right.
She says she will be competing. After lots of rest and therepy, she says her leg is feeling better.
kikkan is gona medal!! go USA
Stupid NBC is not live streaming, and if you live on the West Coast, you get tape delayed while East coast gets live. What’s with that? You live in the same time zone as the Olympics but you can’t see them for 3 hours? So stupid.
NBCfail. They just insist on doing the stupidest things all the time. Let’s just say it again: Vancouver and the US West Coast are in the same time zone. On the US West Coast, the Vancouver Opening Ceremonies are tape delayed. Same time zone. Tape delayed.
As a fellow West Coast resident, I was so excited to think the Olympics would be live. NBC Stupid.
yea really sucks. While watching the ski jump the tape delay was not in sync-very annoying
we are only one hour behind-Alaska-still west coast
NBC should be embarrassed by their coverage. Tape delaying on the west coast is STUPID. I will not be watching any of the Olympics on NBC and will get any updates and information I want online only. I live 3 hours from Vancouver and cannot watch what they are doing there until 3 hours later thanks to NBC. Damn, maybe I should just drive there and watch it live.
NBC SUCKS – BOYCOTT THE GAMES IF YOU LIVE ON THE WEST COAST!!!
At this point, really, just stop watching NBC altogether. Once they cancel Chuck, what’s left? Neither The Office nor 30 Rock are as strong as they once were, and if it comes to that Fey could move Rock to some other network. NBC is just The Biggest Loser Network and never has an identity been so apropos.
I so agree. I too will get all my Olympics from the Internet.
maybe you can get the Canadian coverage if you’re that close to the border?
I am still feeling outraged that the Olympics are tape delayed in the western USA. Seriously. They are in our own time zone!!! The least NBC could do would be to stream them live on their website. Although, I hear that might be asking way too much from NBC’s Olympics website. Big failure by not showing them live on the West Coast.
I don’t even get NBC in the backwater town of SF. I was hoping to see some figure skating streaming live online but it doesn’t look like it is happening from what I can see on their schedule.
Yes — at 90 mph, the pole didn’t need to be padded. What concerns me is that there were complaints about the track before this happened. I hope they will take the concerns seriously and prevent more tragedy if they can.
I love EW! But I must say that I am very disappointed in your coverage of the Winter Olympics! The games are not in the U.S. so perhaps that is why you are shirking away.. but they are in the country just North of you. A country that is beautiful, free, democratic, and who recognizes the rights of all… no matter their race, creed or sexuality… something you should look to and recognize. And K.D. Lang rocked tonight!! Shame on you E.W… shame.
Thank you for this list.
I love this day-by-day schedule — please keep this up throughout the olympics!! Such a great help, because the NBC schedule is awful!
Thank you for the listings. NBC’s are a bit annoying.
