Phil, do you agree with Mickey about Megan?
From what I read Marisa Tomei was pissed at Mickey during the filming of The Wrestler because he re-wrote a number of her lines (he re-wrote practically all of his own). I don’t doubt Megan Fox can really act in the right part and with someone like Rourke (I could see some of that in Jennifer’s Body)- its hard, though, to imagine her being better than Evan Rachel Wood but Mickey’s memory isn’t that long – all those punches he took to the head.
Best Young Actress? He hasn’t worked with many young actresses has he.
Remember he worked with Lisa Bonet (she was just 18) in “Angel Heart” – she was wonderful in that. Rourke and Robert DeNiro were fantastic together in that film.
I don’t think Mickey is dissing Evan Rachel Woods at all. I think he just had more chemistry w/Fox as a colleague/love interest more than with Tomai.
I think Rourke gets very emotionally involved in his roles and with some of the actresses he works with. What he was talking about with Marisa Tomei was probably what I read where during filming The Wrestler she got mad at him because Rourke insisted on re-writing some of her lines (he re-wrote all of his own). But on-screen they were great together. I wouldn’t count Megan Fox out – I bet with an actor as inspiring as Mickey Rourke she can tap her talent – she sure won’t get that chance in the Transformers.
The only thing Megan brings to the table is being white & young. She hasn’t proven if she has any acting talent. Yet she’s getting sooo many chances. TWO movies coming up starring Mickey Rourke & Josh Brolin, why her? She looks similar to other young white actresses in Hollywood with cosmetic surgery & alot of makeup.
Mickey should definitely lay off the Mickey! Best young actress – that’s a little premature. I hope she’s been taking acting lessons cause that Jennifer’s Body was uber-awful!
OKay this is gross…Mickey is almost 60 & Megan is 23. Josh Brolin is in his 40′s & has kids Megan’s age. What, no one over the age of 25 was willing to do love scenes with these two old guys? Then it must be true-Jessica Alba is no longer the hottest thing around minus the acting chops.
