The red band trailer for Kevin Smith’s Cop Out, starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis, finally makes this film look as funny as an R-rated movie from Kevin Smith starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis. We find out that Morgan’s character is orally-fixated (twice), that he will strike a child (who has struck him), that he’s a wild card in the interrogation room (he likes to shout lines from TV shows and movies), and that there’s a good reason why he tells Sean William Scott to shut up (if you don’t know what “DP” stands for, you will). Major NSFW warning.

i dunno, but this now looks funny to me, better preview.
Looks terrible. Throw some dirty words into a movie and it make it better? What are you people, 11 years old? Grow up.
Yes, it does make it better. So much better.
Wah, get back on your hover round and get out old man. Sometimes cursing is funny. Sorry to disappoint your highmindedness. Isn’t there some message bored where you can discuss the merits of Bergman versus the new Romanian school of film or something. Sometimes a little filth is funny.
My 12 year old, after seeing a very different trailer on TV this morning, begged me to take him to this movie. He had tears in his eyes, and I’ll admit I was wavering. I’m glad I saw THIS trailer, because there’s no way I’m taking him to this movie. It looks funny, so he can watch in about six or eight or twenty years.
Don’t be a prude mom and let the boy see this movie. I’m telling you, he will be corrupted in some other shape or form, and you will not like it.
says the ranger who got lost.
Isn’t it an R? Which means he can’t see it even if you take him right? Because he’s not 13.
Of course it has always been the problem with the American “non barrier” ratings system; kids can see movies with inappropriate content and / or films can get watered down from a fully adult sensability because 13 year olds can watch them. There some things that only adults should see and hear, or at least that very few non adults can see without negative effects.
Have to agree that this trailer looks much funnier, not because of the language but because of the broader context shown around the jokes. Also yes, sometimes bad language is funny.
you can take babies to an r rated film as long as you’re the age of majority. no rules in that regard. and a lot of adults can’t handle movies with “adult” subjects in films, so i don’t really see what you’re going for there. that’s a lot bigger issue than you seem willing to address.
Wow! This looks way better than what I’ve seen up to this point. I was wondering how three people I like so much (Smith, Morgan, Willis) could put out something that looked so bad. The red-band trailer has reinstated some hope that this will turn out OK. I’m sure it’s hard to find 30 coherent seconds that are suitable for TV when Kevin Smith and Tracy Morgan are involved.
It’s great to see Willis in full-on comedy mode and not taking himself so seriously. Should make for a funny but not world-changing movie. Which is exactly what a throwback to ’80s buddy cop flicks should be.
I need to feed this, I need to feed this. LOL.
so much better this looks like a keep!!!!
Looks quite good, even it does succumb to the typical American brand of ‘shout everything to make it funnier’ humor.
nice!
Wow. The regular trailer looked like a steaming pile of S. This actually looks much much funnier
I agree; the first time I saw this trailer on tv I thought 30 Rock was on and maybe I was watching one of those Tracy Jordan movie trailers.
Did you just dis “Who Dat Ninja”, “Honky Grandma Be Trippin” and “Black Cop/White Cop”?!
(Oh wait, this IS “Black Cop/White Cop”!)
Maybe it’s better that Robin Williams managed to dodge this movie. Even though he lost the pay or play deal in court (nearly 6 million) for getting dumped during casting.
