Earlier this year I became obsessed with the MTV series Taking the Stage, approximately a real-life Fame filmed at a performing arts high school in Cincinnati. To my enormous delight, season two begins in a few shorts weeks, and no joke, it is marked on my calendar.
Is it tough to take a show seriously when its dramatic/romantic lead says without a molecule irony, "I came here because I want to dance"? I guess it could be, but that's what makes this show awesome: The people on it are legitimately talented and actually care about things. It's the opposite of celebreality, and I love it.
Are you as excited for this show's return as I am, PopWatchers?

I am a performing arts instructor and was addicted to this show. Even the reruns were good! I can’t wait for the comeback.

I go to this school and what it is portrayed on the show is NOT how scpa is at all. u dont have dance battles in the middle of the lunch room. its all staged. i just wanna let mtv know how much fake drama they have caused at our school and how they ignored the REAL talent at scpa. Instead they had to get theor LA look and screw over the students that have been going there since 4th grade. BULL S***!

yeah you talk about scpa, mtv is the best thing that could have happened to that school other than SWINE FLU, all the kids are a ghetto mess, the teachers are prejudice and none of them have any experience in the entertainment industry anywayyyy, so yall should be lucky that mtv wanted to come to that ragedy school, they prob had to cast outside cuz aint nobody got any REAL talent….my cousins goes to that school and the only training he got was how to treat the swine flu he caught, now he uses hand sanitizer, but still cant perform, real talk….
@jerome: clearly you’ve never heard of the slew of famous people to come out of scpa before mtv got their grubby little hands on it. sarah jessica parker, carmen electra, 98˚ (okay not the best example but still, they made millions), the list goes on. the show sucks and is fake, but do your research before trashing a credited performing arts school.
@jerome: btw – sounds like your cousin is just a no talent HACK. you can’t teach true creativity, you teach how to harvest it. Also, sounds like YOU sure didn’t go there and are relying on your probably ghetto cousin’s account of the school.

Didn’t Mia graduate? That is SUPER lame that she’s a graduate and is still hanging around her HIGH SCHOOL. Maybe if she spent more time perfecting her craft rather than milking that show, her songs wouldn’t all sound alike!!!

Omg! I totally agree! I loved Mia at first and thought she was something fresh and new to the scene.
BUT now she seems just like an average reality t.v. wannabe and acts like she’s already made it when Jive Records basically told her all of her material sounds the same! She lacks the “it” factor and looks BORED in live performance footage and even her new song sounds…boring. UGH! Lost faith in her
