New 'Inception' trailer: Watch it here!

Tagged:

Assuming there’s any of your mind left to blow post-Avatar, the newest trailer for next summer’s IMAX thriller Inception would seem to imply that director Christopher Nolan is seeking to do just that. This short but enticing clip features Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page staring intently at objects and architecture, mostly with somewhat cataclysmic results. Still unclear on plot — although Page’s voice pleading “Wake me up!” would seem to indicate it’s all a dream — but for those looking to gnaw on some sweet visuals, this should be a tasty treat.

    Epic.

      Epic? Eh, more mini-interesting.

Once again, DiCaprio is horribly miscast. He’s a decent enough actor, but he’s wrong for a lot of the roles he plays.
He’s like a little kid trying on Daddy’s clothes.

So you’ve seen the film to confirm that DiCaprio is miscast?

    • Stephanie Tanner

agreed – this looks great – anything with joseph gordon levitt/chris nolan i will be there. I think JGL will be the next joker.

    • Telly B

      Yep. Epic fail.

That looks like THE CELL meets DARK CITY by way of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and DREAMSCAPE. I thought Nolan was this visionary, original guy. Oh, wait…he did some Batman films, clearly not THAT original…

I can do that equation garbage with EVERY film EVER made. Don’t act like it confirms that this movie isn’t original in it’s excecution. Every films is a combination of ideas made into something new.

I’m loving that I have no idea what’s going on or what this movie is about.

I’m just happy to know that Nolan, DiCaprio, Page, Gordon-Levitt and Ken Watanabe are there to lead the way.

      ditto.

Christopher Nolan. Leonardo DiCaprio. Joseph Gordon-Levitt. $200 million. IMAX. Psychological thriller.

    Done deal. I’m there.

  • Madd

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Christopher Nolan and DiCaprio would’ve been good enough, but Marion Cotillard (sp?) and Ellen Page make it so much better!

Good God, Nolan is da man. As much as I want a 3rd Batman film from him, seeing stuff like this from him more than makes up for it.

I cant stop watching it over and over. thats a good sign.

  • hannah

I can’t wait to see this. It looks good.

It seems as if someone (Cillian Murphy) has a very dangerous or powerful idea and so Leo and Ellen break into his mind to try and find and steal it. Sooooo sweet.

Wow! Just wow! The trailer could have simply been the city curling up and “From Director Christopher Nolan” alone and would have been enough to entice me. This gives me hope for next summer’s slate of movies.

  • Jess

I just wish I knew what the movie was about, but I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those movies that if you were asked to explain it you wouldn’t know how to lol

Looks good, except for Leo’s involvement. No matter how he tries to change his appearance, he still looks 14 in all his films.

  • John Murdoch

Not bad, but I liked it better the first time I saw it…when it was called “Dark City.”

    • alex

other than the visual of rotating cities..
what gives you any indication that Inception is at all like Dark City? DC is a great movie, but I can see a comparison to The Matrix a hell of a lot more than this.

    • Telly B

DARK CITY + THE CELL + NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET + DREAMSCAPE + 200 million = INCEPTION. So much for Nolan being an original…

      • 1-7

There’s no such thing as a totally original idea. Everything is about taking old ideas and spinning them in a new way. You list that many movies and ou’re bound to get similarities. Besides, those films aren’t wildly original at all.

    • Glass

What is similar to Dark City apart from the city folding?

  • JD

Leo has become one of the great film stars.
    Will see this.

  • Elle

This film cannot disappoint! The special effects and the awesome cast alone is enough for me. If the story turns out to be good too, it’ll be the cherry on top!
