A short time ago, in a writer’s room not so far away, Seth MacFarlane & Co. began work on their Star Wars parody follow-up, Something, Something, Something Dark Side. (Available on DVD and Blu-ray Dec. 22.) And now, in your own room, you can view a trailer for the episode online.
During a conversation a few weeks ago, MacFarlane told EW that the episode’s plot is fairly faithful to Empire Strikes Back—that is, if you don’t count the inclusion of the show’s patented cut-away gags. And, based on the trailer, there seems to be plenty of ‘em. (My personal fave: Hoth’s “giant robot camel” falling and writhing in pain for an inappropriately long time à la Peter in “Wasted Talent.”) And the episode boasts some newbies as well: Consuela the maid apparently works for the Dark Side, Quahog Mini-Mart’s Carl his best Yoda does, and Peter’s mortal enemy, the giant chicken, has been cast as Boba Fett. (That means we should expect one loooong face-off between him and Peter’s Han Solo.)
Tell me, PopWatchers: Will you buy the DVD? Will the parody still be funny the second go-round, or should MacFarlane have stopped with Blue Harvest? And, is it me, or did Family Guy up the ante animation-wise this time around?

Why isnt this airing on TV like the first Star Wars spoof!? Come on Seth, you clearly don’t need the money! Whatever, I’ll just watch the booted copy online soon enough…
I believe they said that their going to air the entire movie as the Season 9 finale, sometime in May.
*they’re
That’s the first time I’ve laughed at something Family Guy related in quite a while.
Still seems kinda weak. The last Star Wars spoof was the exact moment when Family Guy stopped being funny and just became lame.
I fear that all the good parts were shown in that trailer. Here’s hoping there’s more.
invalidname…. ur dumb…. first off robot chicken sucks ass, I have never seen anything so stupid in my life. yeah, so family guy ripped off robot chicken wars or whatever….the creator…”Seth green” allowed it did he not? in fact it was his idea… secondly, family guy puts a way more hilarious twist on there parody. family guy is way more popular than robot chicken- look up the stats…that’s why people are still watching it! it never gets old…plus Family guy is hitting the big screen sometime in the near future!
So… basically “Robot Chicken Star Wars”, but three years later, and much less funny. Why does anyone watch this show?
Wow, that’s a really damning insult…except for two things…
(1) This is the second spoof they are doing, so saying it is three years behind is not really fair. Would you call the sixth spoof seven years behind?
(2) Family Guy has already acknowledged that they copied off of Robot Chicken. In the end of the first spoof Peter (Seth Macfarlane) and Chris (Seth Green, head honcho of Robot Chicken) argue over this fact.
Obviously the humour in family guy is still too clever for the vast majority of Americans
Blue Harvest was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time…I never laughed so hard. The new movie looks to be just as good. You either hate Family Guy or you love them….I love them!
