Leslie Winkle is definitely a superior nemesis for Sheldon, and she would also make an interesting component in a love triangle with Howard and Bernadette. How funny it would be to witness Howard, who actually lost his virginity to his own cousin, to have two girls competing for his affections. Just sayin’, it might add some depth to Bernadette’s character, show us a new facet of Wolowitz AND have Leslie around to dole out more withering insults to Sheldon.
But they already did Howard and Leslie. You think they’d come back to it?
Do not blame the actor, blame the writers. Kripke is an annoying character and they had already established Sara Gilbert as his nemesis. Another crime the writers commited was an actual crime, Kripke pumping the helium into Sheldon’s office would be considered attempted murder. I understand suspension of disbelief and prankls for the good of a joke, but that was a felony he was perpetrating. And yes, the episode was so lame that I fell asleep during one of my favorite shows, so thanks for the recap.
Thank you! Finally, somebody else thinks that Kripke could/should have been arrested — Sheldon could have died! Or not arrested – he should at least been fired.
Adam’s best-written review. Did like the show more than he did. I think Adam’s hatred of Barry Kripke (whom I like) clouded his appreciation of the show.

This episode had me laughing from beginning to end. The helium prank by Kripke had me rolling! Why doesn’t Sheldon or the others mock his obviously annoying voice? The Howard-Bernadette storyline was funny as hell, especially when Howard broke out the music at the end.ROTFL! And the prank by Sheldon! My god that was a lot of goo (or slime or foam)!
Also big ups to Raj and Penny.
I agree…this episode was lame. The Kripke character is terrible….this show is better than this…relying on the intrinsic funniness of a lisp is poor comedy.
This episode wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t really funny. No more Kripke…he brings down the entire episode!
Another week of mostly negative recap and another week of pure laughters for me! So, screw the recaps!
Though all the university nerds are painted with a broad brush, Kripke is the least authentic…too childish and the Elmer Fudd voice is not necessary. HOWEVER, Sheldon’s reaction and mannerisms while his voice kept getting higher and higher was spectacular! I was sorry that Ira Flato didn’t get any screen time.
Raj gets some of the best lines and is underrated as a cast member, he delivers perfection every week.
(I still have the “round” of Soft Kitty running through my head from last week! Make it STOP!)
I haven’t seen the Season 3 eps yet but absolutely can’t wait. Love reading these reviews and all the comments afterwards – always very amusing. Having not seen this ep so I can’t really comment but in general I’d have to agree and say that Kripke is just a bit too annoying to be really funny. I noticed how many people wonder where Sara Gilbert has gone and thought this Wikipedia quote might help: “…the writers didn’t know how to write for her character full time and her status was, once again, reduced from regular to recurring.”
