Hilary Duff gets bratty in 'According to Greta'

Hilary Duff’s new film According to Greta hits theaters on Dec. 11 and EW has an exclusive look at the trailer. She plays troubled 17-year-old Greta, who is forced by her mom (Melissa Leo) to spend the summer with her elderly grandparents (Ellen Burstyn and Michael Murphy) in a Jersey Shore town. But Greta has a summer romance — with a busboy (Evan Ross) — that cheers her up, even if her grandparents don’t approve. Maybe this bratty/mopey role (shot in 2007) would seem more shocking had we not recently witnessed Duff involved in a threesome on Gossip Girl. Still, I’m always up for seeing a star humbled in a seafood shack waitress outfit.

hmmm…why am i sorta reminded of Georgia Rule? Anyone else?

I used to like her on Lizzie Mcguire where her limited acting range suited her as an insecure middle school student, but now I think she should quit. Of all the child tv actors, I thought Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie from Full House) had great potential (pretty and good actress) to have a great career – but most child actors never pan out, Hilary is no exception either

      that’s exactly what i thought.

horse teeth freaks me out, nuff said.

This movie doesn’t even look remotely enjoyable. Hilary Duff is annoying enough on her own, but to see her play an even more unlikable character? No thanks.

If you can’t stand her, then why are you watching her movie trailer?

I don’t care much for Hilary Duff, but it doesn’t look like a bad movie. I honestly enjoyed the trailer.

Remember when Duff was Hollywood’s brightest, upcoming starlet with a huge future in entertainment? What the hell happened?

And yes, this looks like a remake of Georgia Rule, without Jane Fonda.

Looks terrible, I should add. And sorry, but Duff can not act at all. There’s no range in her, her face doesn’t convey anything but that manufactured, wide-eyed aww-shucks-I’m-cute-and-noble thing that every bimbo in a rom com does….

I don’t like According to Greta, I prefer just Greta. Anyway, I will watch it, of course :)

I like how people Feel like they need to hate, just because it’s Hilary Duff, they can’t even make a decent comment about the trailer.

Anyway i like it. and i hope hilary continues to do her thing.

The original trailer (back when it was just “Greta”) is muuuuuuuuuuch better. It definitely makes the film seem edgier and shows some nice acting from Duff

Though it does strike comparison to Georgia Rule, I’ll more than likely enjoy

Hilary Duff in a serious role – why not give her a chance? She might just surprise us. Ellen Burstyn is amazing and the trailer looks good. I’m looking forward to seeing this.

The movie is being released on DVD and bluray on January 19, 2010, so I’m guessing this will only be in theaters for a short time, and only in certain cities. I’ll wait to see this on DVD. It looks mehh.

Hm, it looks like Hilary Duff gives a good performance. I’ve liked her for a while, but she isn’t the strongest actress and I didn’t really warm to her Gossip Girl character. I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch it, but if it was on tv or something I’d probably tune in.

This movie sounds great and I want to add Hilary grew enough I’m sure that from now on we only see great things from it.
