Sound Bites: Best TV clip of the week?

Why watch an entire week’s worth of TV when you can just watch EW.com’s Sound Bites? There are so many reasons. Thousands, really. But watch this anyway. My name is @EWAnnieBarrett and I happen to enjoy showing people clips of Larry David wearing women’s panties.

I don’t find many of these quotes that funny…or maybe the annoying girl who thinks she’s hilarious is destroying any of their humor…

    • Ashley G.

I agree, that girl needs to go, first and last time I will watch this segment on ew

  • Ben

Oh my god, Annie is so terrible. Please replace her.

    • Tim G. (@rural_juror)

      *dislike* Annie is awesome.

    • Andrea

Ben must be allergic to awesome.

    • Nicole

Annie is by far my fave writer on here and I look forward to Sound Bites.. if you are you just going on here to be mean-spirited, seriously just don’t watch it.

      jerk

I love Annie’s writing. Wish we just could roll the clips without commentary, though.

      • Judy

I agree. Having the commentary before and after takes all the funny away from it, for me anyway. I lovelovelove Annie, but in text. And on Idolatry.

    • Jackie

Sound Bites is probably my favorite PopWatch blog of the week. Annie is awesome, Annie stays.

      • Amy

        Agree with Jackie. Go Annie!

    • Michael

      Agree.

  • John

Sound Bites is her deal. You don’t like Annie, don’t watch it.

Personally I think Annie is the funniest staff writer EW has, and I love reading and watching her.

    • sbwm

This. I scroll and look for Annie’s byline. Just to enjoy her writing.

  • Catherine

    Without Modern Family-not as good…

  • Julie

OMG, what is Annie wearing? *vomits*

  • Lara

What about Kenneth’s hilarious and horrible comment on ‘30 Rock’: “I feel so useless, like a mom’s college degree.”

I didn’t know whether to gasp or laugh, so I did both.

    • Christina

Lara, I concur! It was horrible and brilliant at the same time.

  • Alvin

Wow can Arnie sing. Glee is one of the very best shows to hit television. Its a real shame that the Florida Family group wants it to bite the dust!

  • rose

Peggy: “No.” soundbite of the week!!!

  • lee

In my humble opinion, Annie seems to be a good writer. She doesn’t seem to be a funny or entertaining “host” for the sound bite of the week. Maybe condiser just playing the clips.

    • lee

      sorry, *consider

    • SS

Yes, Lee. Annie’s a funny writer and I love how excited she gets about shows (in WRITING) but they do need to take her off these soundbite clips. How can something be funny when they’re interrupted by a tall, loud speaker? Maybe EW could put more portions of the clips in if they took her out.

form the show comunnity i liked when Pearse says to jeff that the shirt he is wear is trying to be leaving in his pants because sock look like shirt. so funy.

  • viggy

definetely the scene in the office where oscar tries to do the southern accent hahahahahha

  • Marisa

My Favorite sound bite of the week was Nigella Lawson on Top Chef. Her quote about how a panacotta should “quiver like the inner thigh of a 17th-century courtesan” was priceless. I had to rewind and play that bit again.

  • Dara

Artie’s quote was definitely the best this week! I could not stop laughing!! Glee is a great show!

  • amanda

    Annie rules!

  • Katherine Hutchens

    Looks like there on acid

  • Morgan

I really hated Tony’s Palin “joke” on NCIS. NCIS really needs to stop trying to pull off topical humor, because it always comes off as awkward, and it will be uncomfortable when the episode hits syndication. The show is funny enough without trying so hard to be current.

  • aliva

Why is It’s Always Sunny always forgotten when this is made? Half of the lines in that show usually trump everything that’s chosen here.

  • Bren

While I like the concept of this piece, it doesn’t always showcase the best quotes/clips. For example, on The Big Bang Theory, there were funnier quotes this past week…like Raj’s parents calling Wolowitz the closest thing they had to a daughter-in-law, or Sheldon’s meltdown during the Raj/Wolowitz bickering.

  • Wil

I really am tired of coming to this every week and seeing the same freakin shows–what about Supernatural? Half the stuff that Dean says is hysterical and funnier than the shows that were MADE to be comedies!

  • mel

did someone watch tv and pick the most mediocre quotes of the week? The Soup tries harder than you, EW.

    • Nicole

The majority (if not all I’m not sure) but def the majority are user-submitted on twitter. So take it up with the readers not her

  • KR

I love Annie, her dry delivery is hilarious. All haters can leave and never come back.

  • Paul

Annie is a good writer, but these videos are poor.

  • Leslie

Warning: calling Annie Barrett on the fact that she can’t get the names of the characters on “Modern Family” right will get your comments deleted.

  • Tracy

“I’m just stressed about the bake sale” from Glee
