This just in: While delicious villain Sue Sylvester has yet to break into song on Glee, almost-certain future Emmy nominee Jane Lynch tells me she is “campaigning strongly” for a musical moment in a future episode of Fox’s freshman sensation. And what song is in her character’s heart right now, you might ask? Press play below to find out, then suggest other possible song choices for surly Sue in the comments section below! Awww I love her!
I remember she said Rose’s Turn from Gypsy in one of her interviews or something a while back, and that would just be awesome. Like, TV exploding awesome.
Oh my God, this would make me die of joy overdose. It must happen. MUST!!!
That song would be genius for her character
She should sing the song that she sang in the movie Another Cinderella Story when she played a has- been pop singer. I think it’s called “On Hold For You.” Love everything Jane Lynch!
I was going to say she should sing the song from Another Cinderella Story too! I love Jane Lynch.
Another Cinderella story?
What are you? Five?
Resorting directly to insults isn’t exactly the most mature thing. Pot calling the kettle black, perhaps?
Maybe Rose is (gasp) a parent.
Or maybe Rose is 5. Or maybe Rose just isn’t jaded and can still find enjoyment out of things. It’s a sad world when we are going to be insulted for liking something innocent.
Hey! Sculliosis! Unless you have another suggestion, shutup!!!
Did you have a longer interview with her Slezak?! Are you holding out on us?!
She’s already danced… of course she should sing… “The Bitch is Back”, by Elton John.
hahaha. Could that be played on TV though?
When it’s in a song, it seems to be okay. I saw “The Bitch of Living” on several shows when they were promoting Spring Awakening.
That’s right, Jane Lynch is a really good singer. (Check her out in the Christopher Guest mockumentary on folk music, “A Mighty Wind.”)
I forgot she was in that! Now we need some guest spots from the Christopher Guest gang. Their brand of hilarity would meld well with Glee’s.
Something vulnerable would continue to give us greater character insight for her… though I could see her singing something aggressive and manly, like “Born to be Wild” or something like that. In the Madonna episode, if she were to sing, I think she could be great doing “this used to be my playground,” if she were to be mourning the loss of her beloved Cheerios and her power on the playfield of the school.
Oooh–good call on This Used to be My Playground.
YES!! Good call for you too!! I can so see her singing that!!
Another great suggestion. I also would like to see more vulnerability ala the swing dance episode. My only complaint has been the one dimensionality of the character and I love that they are chipping away at that.
Hahaha!
What about “POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS” ? Sue will be amazing!
Excellent suggestion, michka!
I don’t know if Disney/ABC would give the song rights to a FOX show. Have they done any Disney songs yet? (Even something like a Miley song?)
They probably wouldn’t, and if they did it probably be a very short list of songs that no one likes. lol.
Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers probably could lent out their songs on their own or convince Disney to let them, since they have enough “power” to do so.
Fantastic idea – hopefully Disney would see it as promoting The Little Mermaid. It’s a great song!
Bossy by Kellis perfect
I would pay to see Sue sing “Bossy”! Too funny.
That would be such a win moment! I agree with the “Poor Unfortunate Souls”
Several years ago I worked for a theater company in Chicago where Jane Lynch was one of the regular actors. Jane has a fantastic voice and if she gets a shot to sing, she’s going to blow everyone away.
Go Jane!!!
the grinch song!
poor unfortunate souls would also be amazing:)
Seriously, if this happens I will die of happiness.
