Do not play the following clip if you don’t want to be singing Kelly Kapoor’s (Mindy Kaling) ode to Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak), “Male Prima Donna,” to yourself for at least the rest of the day. This early look at The Office’s three-part webisode series (posting to NBC.com tomorrow) gives a taste of Kelly and Erin’s video for their first single as girl group Subtle Sexuality. (The series chronicles the behind-the-scenes drama during filming.) Its genius really lies in the fact that it holds up to anything on the radio. And includes references to OD’ing on Baby Aspirin. And features both a B.J. Novak rap and a very Auto-Tuned Ed Helms. Kelly’s description of the meaning behind it: “You know when you love a guy but he’s giving you mixed signals, but you know he really likes you, and you’re sleeping together?” (Bonus: These costumes.) What do you think? Are you ready to download “Male Prima Donna” to your iPod workout playlist, too?

That is awesome.
Agreeed! Soooo good and just a snippet of the awesomeness of the Office and how they’ve kept it fresh and interesting beyond tempting the curse bringing Jim and Pam together…. Good stuff.
I wonder if Darryl helped her write the song.
I need more than 30 seconds!
agreed!
me too! more!!
If you want to see the whole thing
go to nbc.com (nbc is channel that the office is on) on that web site they have whole music video and some webisote thingys too have fun!!
“I swear, I’ll do it…”
Sweet Mother Of Pearl, that was awesome!
So funny! And those gold leotards… Oh Kelly!
Please let this become a hit song.
That song is awesome, want more please! Go Kelly!
Love it !!! <3 this is why the office Rocks!!
This is the only time I’ve ever loved Auto-Tune!
Loved it when Kelly tosses the bottle of aspirin over her shoulder and Erin tries to catch it and misses it. Can’t wait to see the entire video and I’ll definitely be checking out the webisodes.
That was a GREAT moment – totally Erin!
Way too short. I’ll have to view the whole thing, over and over and over again.
OMG! That was FABULOUS!! Gimme, gimme…gimme more!
I wanna see the Nard Dog!
Remember when The Office used to reflect reality and portray a believable office environment?
I agree with Annie, this show has gone way off the rails with regards to reality, it still has its funny moments though, but time to dial it back some already!
The Office has always been about examining the dreams/desires of the characters. Jim wanted to be with Pam, Michael wanted to be loved and respected, Dwight wanted to be Assistant Regional Manager (instead of Assistant TO the Regional Manager). And Kelly always wanted to be with Ryan and to be FABULOUS. This video is all about Kelly, and I think it’s great when there’s some focus on the less-visible characters.
Do you mean like in one of the first episodes when a manager impersonated an Indian convenience store clerk in front of the staff? Right, The Office has always been 100% believable.
Actually, no, I don’t. Do you think in a real office environment Michael Scott would have EVER been able to keep his job all these years?? He (and Dwight) would have been fired 1000 times over in the real world. So you’re wrong.
Someday, you’ll realize how crappy and lazy this show has become. This is the epitome of such crapification. You’re not watching Kelly – you’re watching Mindy. Just like we’re no longer watching Pam – instead it’s Jenna. Etc. This show is so damn lazy, it’s unbelieveable. There’s a huge difference between Michael’s naive racist outbursts in season 1 and, say, Michael driving into a lake with his car. If you can’t see these differences, you’ll never own your own home.
Someday, you’ll realize how crappy your taste has become.
“Dan”.. why are you even commenting on here? If the show is so “lazy, it’s unbelieveable [sic]“, find another forum. Please….
Keep it coming, Mindy/Kelly! The show still humors many!
EXACTLY what I look for in a sitcom – believability over humor! Wow what an idiot………
Not believability OVER humor but humor mined from believability, which was this show’s entire raison d’etre.
@ Dan
Maybe you need some baby aspirin.
You don’t think people in offices are really doing this sort of thing? Have you ever checked out YouTube? It is filled with wanna be superstars making bad videos. The Office is just keeping up with the times.
More!
I like their complete inability to hump the doorframe.
Erin is very quickly becoming one of my favorite characters on the show. LOVED her exchanges with Pam and Michael last week: “Oh! Fun!”
I love Erin! Her scenes always get a little giggle out of me.
