Wait! It’s over? It’s done? Yes, my Big Brother friends, the season has come to an end. Phooey. Granted, I’ve got some stuff going on (Baby ChenTot is on his way…well, soon!), but it’s always a bit sad when I say the final goodnight at the end of each season. Sigh…what a season it was!
BUT FIRST… (Chenbot lives on!)
FINAL H.O.H. PART ONE:
First round of HOH: “Log Jam”
WINNER: Kevin
Set-up: The Houseguests stood on a log while keeping contact with their key. As the seasons began to turn, so did the log. We threw wind, rain, leaves and snow at them. Jordan fell first.
Cut to…Natalie thinks Kevin is good on his word to take her to the final two and jumps off the log roll 10 minutes or so after Jordan fell (she was having a shower when it happened). WOW! As I watched, I couldn’t help but think…“You get to the Final 3 and you believe anyone??” Sigh. I’m not going to lie…Natalie played a good game, but, that was a stupid move. I’m sitting at home screaming at the television, “Stay on the damn log!” Not because I’m partial…I just couldn’t believe she’d be that big of a gambler! Having said that, she may not have been the dominant force in our Big Brother competitions, but she ultimately got herself far in this game. Natalie haters, think it through. It’s a GAME, she played it good enough to get her to the Final Two.
SIDE NOTE: Folks, I know some of you think there was some sort of conspiracy with this challenge…Natalie didn’t break any rules on this. I do appreciate the passion, though…thanks for caring!
Natalie to Jordan: “What the hell was that white stuff?”
Jordan: “It’s snow, Natalie.”
DID YOU KNOW?, PART ONE:
The Big Brother pets this season were fish – Tiger Barb from Sumatra and Rand Garra Algae Eaters from Borneo.
HOH – PART TWO: “Heads Will Roll”
Winner: Jordan
Since Kevin won Part 1 of 3 for the final H.O.H. competition, Part 2 was between the ladies of the house.
Natalie and Jordan took turns (while the other was in lock-down, unaware of the end result…Kevin was sweating it out, also in lockdown, somewhere in the BB house). One at a time, each stood at the base of a ramp with the names of former Houseguest printed on balls which they then needed to roll up the ramp in order of this season’s H.O.H. reign.
Jordan won (Natalie: 5 correct; Jordan: 9 correct).
DID YOU KNOW?, PART TWO:
There are 52 cameras used in the Big Brother House.
There are 95 microphones used in the Big Brother House.
There are 119 one-way mirrors in the Big Brother House.
It takes approximately 230 laps in the pool to equal a mile.
There are approximately 200-300 hours of footage shot to produce one episode!!
H.O.H. COMPETITION PART 3: “Jury Rules”
Winner: Jordan
Talk about a nail-biter. It came down to a tie between Kevin and Jordan and up to…the chalkboard. And a question about the total votes cast (including tie-breakers) this entire season. I thought Kevin had it. He was counting on his fingers while Jordan seemed panicked. Readers…we all under-estimated Jordan. The correct answer was 51…she wrote 50. Well. Done. Jordan.
FINAL HOUSEGUEST QUOTES:
Jeff to Lydia during the Jury House Debate: “I might as well talk to that plant!”…It’s like talking to a road cone!”
Jeff to Jessie during the Jury House debate: “This room doesn’t fit your head, and we’re outside!”
Lydia (while casting her vote): “Jordan, I love a good blonde.”
I (and my alter ego, Chenbot) would like to thank all of you for supporting the show and supporting me. I’m not going to even try to spin this…I was sweating it…as much as I wanted to host the Big Brother Finale, I wasn’t sure if Baby ChenTot had different plans for me. We all made it to the end…I thank all of you for your kind words and support. You have no idea how much this has meant to me. Big Hug to All! I’m off to have A BABY…YAHOO!! Big Brother fans…you’re the best!
BTW: You can see Jeff on “The Bonnie Hunt Show” this Friday…check your local listings! They’re both from Chicago…should be fun to watch!
VIEWER QUESTIONS:
Question: There are those who believe that the Big Brother producers favor certain houseguests. Examples include Kevin’s statement that the diary room producers pressured him to keep Michele in the game, and the fact that Jordan was not expelled despite approaching Russell in a threatening manner. In a 2007 EW interview Alison Grodner admitted that the Big Brother rules can be changed at any time. In the Netherlands, Australia and UK, there have been several lawsuits alleging that Big Brother is rigged. How do you respond to current allegations that Big Brother 11 is rigged?
Julie: Big Brother is NOT rigged. I think the scandal of the 50’s game show, Quiz Show, was a lesson for all as to why you cannot rig a game show. It’s ILLEGAL! Plus, it would defeat the concept of Big Brother. Our show is about human behavior and the consequences of that behavior. Sometimes the good guys win…sometimes they don’t. It’s like life. If it was rigged, the show would be boring and predictable! The drama is in the surprise of what happens every week…be it something you’re happy about or not.
Viewer: Julie, Please say that you will continue to host BB after you become a mother. This show wouldn’t be the same without you. It is by far my favorite reality show on TV. I eagerly await it every summer. Congrats.
Julie: Absolutely! I love the show too…hosting it, watching it, working on it, blogging about it…the list goes on. I cannot imagine having the show continue without me hosting it. I have so much fun doing it. Thank you!
Viewer: Will you be back next year to blog Big Brother 12 at EW? I absolutely loved your insights on the best television show of the summer! (Editors note: we would LOVE to have you back, Julie!!!!)
Julie: Yes, yes and yes! Thanks for asking (fans and editors!). I had a blast doing these blogs. It made me feel hip and young and I didn’t even have to tweet!

Julie, I wish you WOULD tweet. I’d follow you!
Can I please be Julie’s personal drfashion assistant. What was she wearing a graduation gown!!
It was a Snuggie!! Fire the stylist!!
I’d suppport that. You couldn’t do any worse than her stylist even if you were colour blind.
Hi Julie
Thank you for answering my question about whether “Big Brother is rigged”. I never expected a response and am so pleased that it was considered a ‘worthy question’. I am a big Big Bro fan and an even bigger Chenbot fan.
Enjoy your mat leave and looking froward to you hosting BB12.
P.S. Wish I could apply for Big Bro 12, but I’m Canadian and reside in Toronto
I would think that all contests and twists are scheduled out prior to the show start. No matter how is the HOH or who is the underdog, the contests fall accidentally where they are.
why can’t canadians apply? we vote, we watch, we scream at the edge of our seats just like americans! no fair
Thank you so very much for all of your hard work and obvious love for this show. And a special thanks for hosting during your pregnancy and for also giving us so much insight with your blogs…they were the BEST PART of this season! Good luck with baby ChenTot (I love it!) and I can’t wait until next season!
Julie, Julie, Julie…thanks for another wonderful summer with BB..God Bless you, your hubby and the soon to be biggest blessing of your life…your baby boy…See you next summer..
Good luch with your new job. Being a mom is the best job in the world (and the hardest).
Amen to that, Betsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, Julie, some day you’re going to look back on your life and say, “I wasted 13 years of my life on a vapid reality show.” Seriously, didn’t you want more for your life?
Seriously? She’ll be counting her fans and money while she’s looking back. Don’t hate on the Chenbot, dude.
Lol….fans….Fans!…fans!! You gotta be kidding me. I dont know anyone that likes her. She’s TERRIBLE! And her blogs are even more boring that she is on tv! Shes cardboard!
Joel, you are incredibly rude. Did you get your kicks off saying that? Why would you even click on this if you feel that way.
Jeff, some day you’re going to look back on your life and say, “Why was I such as ass?”
Jeff is wonderful! I really don’t know who you were watching….I think Jeff and Jordan make a GREAT couple!!! I really hope they get together outside of Big Brother…
Kathy.. I think Jeff Wannabe was directing his comments to Jeff W who posted a comment at 12:26 p.m. not Jeff from the show…
As opposed to doing productive things like commenting on vapid show message boards
Good one Dorothy!
Rude. Back off our beloved Chenbot. She has brough entertainment and fun to millions while you sit there judging people at your computer… Julie wins.
It’s hardly 13 years dude. The show is only on 3 times a week for 10 weeks and Julie doesn’t even host every episode. I’d say that’s quite a cushy job she has there.
To Kathy – I think the “Jeff” is Jeff W. at 12:26 post.
then why even waste your time commenting on this if you don’t waste your time watching this vapid reality show we all seem to love?
While I don’t believe that Julie herself writes this blog, I do love Julie and BB. It is not vapid, it is just plain fun. If you don’t like it here is a tip- don’t watch it , don’t read about it and most importantly don’t leave stupid comments like this when you obviously know nothing about it. Good luck with the chenboy, Julie.
I don’t know, I think she prob. DOES write the blog. It’s not terribly strenuous, and she doesn’t have a lot of commitments, like journalists do. Anyway I also enjoy it, adds a fun dimension to the show.
Thanks for everything, Julie! Wish you all the best for the new arrival!
This has been a terrific season of BB and I have to agree your blogs have been a great addition! Would love to see them continue. Your love for the show really shows through. And yes you should be on Twitter!
I know many, many BB fans join me in wishing you all the best in the delivery of the ChenTot! (Love that name too lol) So glad he cooperated because the ending wouldn’t have been right without you there. Perhaps he’s a BB fan already!
ChenTot… just one more reason I LOVES me some JC! Best wishes to you, Julie.
I almost gave up on BB this year when Jordan was left with Kevin & Natalie. However, BB came through to keep me viewing by holding the final HOH competition on finale night. Clever. Love you as host and how you confronted Jessie & Lydia on their “undercover” time in the House.
I thought the show got somewhat boring with Kevin & Natalie thinking they had it made, Jordan showed that justice prevailed during the last 2 challenges. America & the jury GOT IT RIGHT!
It wasn’t “justice” its purely a game. It was a stroke of luck (that was a desperate guess when she wrote 50)that got her to the final 2 but she did prevail and good on her. She seems like a genuine person who is in desperate need of a little financial luck I hope she enjoys it.
Did Jordan say she guessed? Or did she think “10 evictions. I’ll average it to 5 evictions each.”? Hummm?
Thanks for a great summer of entertainment Julie. I know you’ll be a great Mom to the ChenTot (Love the nickname!) and all of us viewers look forward to seeing you (and the little one, hopefully!) next July for Big Brother 12. Your blogs have been a fantastic added dimension to the show, and I’m very pleased to hear they’ll continue next season. Now, take some time off and go have that baby.
THX 4 ANOTHER GREAT SEASON JULIE .. AND CONGRADS
GREAT SEASON!! THE FANS ARE THE BEST
We love you Julie! Are you going to name your baby Mike Boogie or Evel Dick, LOL!
Thanks Julie for all your information, I have all my BB friends reading your blog too now, WE LOVE IT! The Chenbot Rocks!! I think it is so cool how you have embrased your nickname and have seen it for the fan love that it is. Good luck with your Baby ChenTot (LOVE that name BTW) and thanks again for all the info.
I am SOO Happy Jordan won. YEAH!!! It isn’t often that the fan fav makes it to the end, so it is completely rewarding when it does happen. Good luck with the birth!!! C:/end program.Chenbot shut down.see you next season.exe
I want to thank BB, Julie, the creator of the show, the house guests and the producers for my 11th GREAT summer of BB fun !!! Its family time for us, we plan our activities around the show during the summer. It was a great season. So glad Jordan won !!! She is awesome ! Jeff is fantastic also. Thank you again, cant wait for next summer to get here. Wish I could be a contestant some day. Wishing the best for Julie on her wonderful blessing !!!
PS no more Jesse appearances please.
Great job to all !
The Carr family
Can we please have a reunion show where you show clips of everyone talking behind everyone else’s back or at last some type of follow up to Jeff & Jordan…this can’t be the end!!!!
I would love to hear what happens between Jeff and Jordon!
Hi Julie-
Your awesome- but I just have to add something. You singled out the Natalie “haters.”
You seem to have the same attitude as her- and depending on how much of the feeds and/or forumns you read/watch- you may not know WHY we hate her.
I agree she played a smart game- but it was the lack of respect and other evil nature she displayed. She talked about “shanking the bitch” in reference to Michelle. She went thru her things and wanted to steal her gloves, and hide her valuables. She was ruthless and showed no class in her gameplay. You can play the way she did, and still have respect for your houseguests.
The stuff she got away with was dispicable- and then after she’d say or do something hideous to someone- she’d walk around with this shit-eatin grin like she was queen of the castle- and had just pulled off another heist.
It was NOT her gameplay thatpeple hate- IT WAS HER! She is truly a disgusting human being, from everything I saw about her.
Thank you!
Julie,
Thank You so much for your insight and behind the scenes info you give us on this blog. As someone who has watched many different countries’ version of BB I can say if there was a host all-star edition, you would be the Mike Boogie of the All-Star season. You are the epitome of class, looked radiant throughout the season and make BB what it is. Best of luck with Chen-tot, see you next summer.
Sad to read the note from the editors; although I enjoyed the “insider secrets”, this blog was poorly written and rarely insightful.
Cut her some slack, she is 9 months pregnant and unless you have been there you can’t have a clue in space on how hard the last few weeks of a pregnacy can be and she played them out on national TV. Go away if you don’t like her blog…Julie, love “ChenTot” you know now that nickname is going to stick forever LOLOL
What am I going to do now? I think BB should be on year round. Please consider this. I love watching the show with my family, it’s a great conversation starter.
I presume the changes at the end of the show were due to Chima leaving but I really liked that it was a final three and the last person evicted went straight into voting. The two hour finale was great. Maybe it should become the norm?
Thanks for another great season. Can’t wait to see what the unexpected twists will be in season 12. Baby Chen Tot — thats awesome.
JORDAN…JORDAN…JORDAN..I HOPE YOU READ THIS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE…I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY YOU WON!!! YOU PROVED THAT YOU COULD HOLD YOUR OWN AND YOU ARE SMART…I AM GLAD YOU TOOK NATALIE EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT WANT HER TO WIN ANY MONEY I DON’T THINK YOU HAVE TO BE OF HER CHARACTER TO WIN BUT IF YOU HAD GONE WITH KEVIN I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE WON SECOND….YOU HAVE PROVEN THAT A GOOD GIRL WITH GOOD MORALS CAN STILL BE A WINNER…YOU ARE A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR OUR YOUNGER GIRLS AND HOPEFULLY YOUNGER GIRLS WILL WANT TO MODEL THEMSELVES AFTER YOU WHAT A GREAT WORLD THIS WOULD BE FOR OUR FUTURE GIRLS IF THEY HAD HALF THE MORALS YOU HAVE…YOUR MOTHER DID A GREAT JOB AND RAISING YOU AND YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DESERVE THE VERY BEST LIFE HAS TO OFFER…I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU AND JEFF TOGETHER SO TRY IT OUT BUT KEEP YOU MORALS HIGH…IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK BUT THERE IS A SPARK THERE EVEN IF ITS ONLY BFF. I LOVE THE WAY YOU AND JEFF PLAYED THE GAME AND JEFF IS A GREAT MORAL GUY TOO….MY PRAYERS AND HAPPINESS ARE SENT TO YOU..CONGRADULATIONS AGAIN…THE BEST WOMAN WON…….
We love yo Julie and think you make the show so much more interesting and fun to watch. Besides the fact that your are gorgeous and smart and very witty. We would love to see how Natalie reacted to Jessie voting for Jordan as well as Lydia. I hope Natalie gets some humble pie after her fiasco on this show. We know that show walked with some money but sacrificed any integrity or respect that makes you a decent person. She proved herself to be an ugly human being and a bad competitor. So happy Jordan won, just goes to prove that instinct can take you all the way when you can trust in it. Natalie just looked like someone who finally got permission to let all of the horrible “real her” show and it will haunt her for a long time. Hope to see you next season , happy and with a healthy baby Chentot. Best of luck to you and your family, we hope you all live happily ever after.
Julie can say that the game is not rigged because that implies that the producers pick a winner at the beginning of the season and shape events around that person to keep themsafe. HOWEVER, she does not address the fan’s concerns that Big Brother producers *favor* certain houseguests and manipulate events based on audience feedback *during* the season. Jeff became America’s favorite play at the half-way point during the season. But Jeff said some racist things earlier in the season that could be seen on the live feeds. Chima, on the other hand, caled Russell a terrorist. And because she became the villain by that point, production made sure her comments were on the broadcast show. Big Brother doesn’t show the whole picture of a houseguest’s personality, so how can we trust them not to manipulate competitions as well?
nobody you need someone to take you out and beat tne crap out if you. You have no respect!!!
I agree wild bill. glad it’s been deleted.
Munch on my butt hairs, buddy. Julie probably liked the compliment.
Julie good luck with the ChenTot! Thanks for a GREAT Big Brother season!
Love ya Julie! BB would not be the same without you. You are the glue that holds it together. Seriously. Best with the BabyBot, er BabyTot!
