Quiet down, everyone! Joan has an announcement. After only three episodes of its third season have aired, AMC’s Mad Men has been renewed for season 4. Let’s check in with some of our favorite characters for their reactions.
JOAN: I said congratulations didn’t I? Although, sometimes when people get what they want, they realize how limited their goals were.
PEGGY: It’s like a basket of kisses!
ROGER: [Lights cigarette, pours milk into vodka.]
PETE: Let’s dance!
BETTY: I don’t move that well right now. Don loves to dance!
DON: I hate to break it to you, but there is no big lie, there is no system, the universe is indifferent.
PEGGY: I want to smoke some marijuana.
Cue celebratory PopWatch Dance Party in the comments!

HAHAHA =)
This is awesome news!
Grandpa: “I don’t want another season–I want my five dollars!”
Harry: “Why do *they* always get good things?”
Bertram: “Take your shoes off first!”
Sal: Doesn’t say anything, but casts a sultry look at the network exec responsible for the renewal.
Mona: Doesn’t say anything…glares frostily at the rest of the room.
Betty: With a confused look, glances around the room as if she’s supposed to be understanding a deeper meaning to it all. Convinced that everyone is making fun of her ignorance, crosses her arms and sulks.
I’m thrilled to hear they already have a pick-up for season 4. I love how this show unspools a tiny bit at a time, just to keep me clamouring for more. More Trudy and Pete dancing, more Joanie and the accordion, more Don leaping over bars… It’s all good.
They must have low expectations at AMC. What a boring ass season so far? The third season premier the biggest audience this show got had ten time less of an audience then a re-run of NCIS.
I just started watching the show and so far I think it is great, I am looking forward to the new season and many more to come.
I have just started watching the show and like it very much. I am looking forward to the new season and many more to com.
SAL: Does this mean we’ll be going back to Baltimore?!? I hope!?!
I watch on a regular basis and enjoy it. the acting is down to very real and well done.It makes one realize that the actors eally enjoy the parts they play and are very dedicated to the show.
I like the show, but I’m struggling to stay interested this season. The small segments are annoying. Thank goodness for DVR. Hopefully, this season will evolve into something great. Let’s hope so. Not like “Rescue Me”. They dropped the ball bigtime this year.
Second best show on television, deserves all the plaudits it gets and I’m thrilled that AMC have so much faith in it.
Season 3 has been mediocre so far. the debut was pretty close to terrible (worst episode of Mad Men, period). it’s raised its game since then, but i don’t know…
Mediocre by Mad Men standards is still a helluva lot better than most of the crap on television.
Don: “I’m glad they told me now and not three seconds after I’d dozed off.”
Pete: “So I CAN get everything I want all at once.”
Bert Cooper: “I just wanted to say, Happy Birthday.”
Ken: This is great! Oh, I should’ve brought a date….
Have to agree that even mediocre Mad Men is better than 95% of available tv. That said, LOVE this show, thrilled that it got picked up for a 4th season. I love the fact that this show has layers and true nuance which means as a viewer you actually have to pay attention. It’s truly like a good novel come to life; great detail, true character studies, real depth. Thank god we get another season, here’s to hoping we get to see it through the end of the 60′s.
