Another 'Where the Wild Things Are' trailer: Now with extra rumpus

Categories: Movie Trailers

Another day, another magnificent trailer for Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are.

The new trailer shows off more of the Wild Things and their elaborate wilderness, and I have to say, I am growing extremely impatient waiting for this movie. I want Catherine Keener to sit across a kitchen table and gaze meaningfully into my eyes! I also want to have divorce-evading psychedelic nature adventures! Oct. 16 cannot come soon enough.

What do you think, PopWatchers? Does this new trailer make you excited for Spike’s adaptation, or are you already soooo post-buzz about everything?

    this movie looks so beautiful!

    Looks fantastic!

Interesting take on the subject matter, but Gandolfini’s voice takes me right out of the film. “Don’t trust him, Max! If you take off that crown, he’ll have you whacked!”

  • Stacie

    Can’t wait!

Although Rich’s point about Gandolfini’s voice is valid, this is just an INCREDIBLE trailer. I actually found myself getting emotional towards the end. Great images, brilliant music. Can’t wait for this one.

I got goosebumps when he said “Let the wild rumpus start!” Oh God, I’m tearing up again . . .

Dang. This trailer made me cry too. Just like the other one. It looks so good.

Glad I’m not the only one who gets teary-eyed while watching these trailers. It’s quite possible that I’ve never been this excited about a movie before. Beautiful music, excellent imagery, & a seemingly faithful yet imaginitive translation of a classic childrens book: What more could I ask for?

  • Bruce Kain Martin

The book had ten lines in it so how does that translate into a full lenght moivie?
    Three words: Embelish, embelish, embelish/
For me the book already is, and alsways has been, complete.

Why does this make me sob? I didn’t even love the book THAT much as a child. It just seems to capture everything about what childhood is like…

It makes me cry too. I can’t wait to see it! The last film I went to see at a cinema was Iron Man, and predictably, that made me cry too. This film will be better than that one, I think.

This isn’t just a “put your own song” over the trailer. I actually spent a good 3 hours EDITING the two trailers that have been released into a longer Mega Trailer. I enjoyed the challenge. Although, Spike’s intention with “Wake Up” will never be touched.

Looks like a very well made movie, but I must be one of the few who really dislikes the song playing over the official trailers. I’d perfer to see it with the actual score music, but I know that only comes closer to the actual movie release.
