Lost among the major-category chatter about this morning’s Emmy nominations is the recognition (waaaay down the list in Outstanding Nonfiction Special) of NBC’s brutally revealing documentary about Farrah Fawcett’s battle with cancer, Farrah’s Story. If it wins, it’ll give the star her only Emmy: She’s been nominated three times in acting categories (in 1985 for The Burning Bed, in 1990 for Small Sacrifices, and in 2003 for a guest appearance on The Guardian) but she never won. A statue this year — which would go to her as an executive producer of the project — would give the sex symbol the most tangible evidence of the elusive acclaim she often sought but never quite captured. And it would be well-deserved: While the special was uneven — sometimes sappy, sometimes a rare breed of too revealing — it was, inarguably, brave, the realest reality TV could possibly give us. She is, also inarguably, a television icon who’s gotten short shrift even in her death, as the news of her passing quickly got swallowed by the more shocking passing of another icon named Michael Jackson. Wouldn’t it be lovely to see her get more recognition than the standard Emmy-death-montage moment? As for her chances at winning: The toughest competition will come from yet another household name born of television who made another touchingly distinctive documentary, Michael J. Fox for his Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.
What do you think, PopWatchers? Are you happy to see Fawcett nominated? Will you be rooting for her?

a fitting tribute to a brave actress who let the world see her as she really was toward the end. Anyone who saw the special knows just how painful it was to watch & realize that she was loosing the fight. A win here would allow here to be forever known as an “Emmy winner” – certainly she deserves that.
I agree good point

Farrah was over-looked for “The Burning Bed” and “Small Sacrifices”…she was incredible in those roles!! This Emmy win would be more than deserved
I’m thrilled! I was hoping it would be nominated!
I would love to see it win, and I’m sure I’d cry (as I did watching it) if it won. I love that Farrah’s legacy has changed so dramatically, although it had to happen in the face of this tragedy…
Give Farrah her emmy!!!
I would love to see Farrah’s Story win. It was a heartwrenching look at a very, very ill woman up close and personal. I think it was brave and should be recognized with an Emmy win.
Farrah deserves this honor. I so hope she wins.
YEAH, I HOPE FARRAH WINS, SHE TOTALLY DESERVES IT !!!
I am not a Farrah Fan but I can’t tell you how much I loved it. It was extremely personal and sappy, but the best program I have ever seen about the battle an individual with cancer will face.
hope you can know more about that

She should win the Emmy, ironically, the year she passed away, finally.
she sure deserves the Emmy but even if she doesn’t: to ME she will be the winner !!!
I was upset not just with her death, but how we were robbed of the the recognition she deserved but didnt get because of MJ. She was robbed of an mmy 4 Burning Bed,then robbed of all the headlines she deserved & would’ve gotten if MJ didnt hog the spotlite. Now MJF will prob win,as if his story is more harrowing than Farrahs. Hes still alive, she is not! Farrah 2 win!
So which shows would get your votes for best drama and best comedy?
