'Project Runway' on Lifetime: 'It's a good thing'

Lifetime's new promo for Project Runway features boatloads of Regular Folk superfans (they're just like us!) affirming one of life's most essential truths: We love Project Runway and would like it to just return already. August can't come soon enough. Not watching The Fashion Show is taking a lot out of us.

Hey, does anyone else go around imitating Tim Gunn by chirping "This worries me" instead of "This concerns me"? I've been doing it wrong. This worries me. But I'm not too concerned about it. "Good moan-ing, design-uhs!"

Tim ” that is a lot of look” is one of my favorite lines he has thrown out.

  • Ceballos

Actually, whenever my girlfriend is struggling with whatever she’s working on, I like to put on my Tim Gunn glasses and implore her to “Rally!”

  • ET

    “Don’t bore Nina!”

Our cable company doesn’t carry Bravo for some reason, so we just skipped last season. It used to be the only show we watched in “real time,” so I’m excited it’s moving to Lifetime!

This promo gives me the chills. So clever

  • Mumu

Hey, Annie, how about a Tim-off? Ceballos and clinton had me laughing over their Tim impressions. Are there others out there?

I actually really like “The Fashion Show.” It’s worth checking out but I’m definitely excited for “Project Runway” to return.

    Shout out to Michael’s coffee-filter dress! I can’t wait.

I’m sorry, but where were the fabulous ProjRun loving boys? Please let this commercial not be a sign that the show is going to go too mainstream vanilla as it moves to the mom channel from the gay channel.

This is why moving it to Lifetime bothers me – even the ad for the show pretty much only features women. Sorry, but PR has a huge male audience as well and I am completely turned off by the ad above. I have no desire to tune into the “television for women” channel to watch anything – including Project Runway.

I loved this commercial because it had people from all walks of life talking about the show!! Project Runway is popular with so many people…I have been waiting for it to come back for such a long time. I heard its move to L.A is going to be awesome! So close to home! Has anyone heard that Project Runway has chose FIDM in Downtown as their West Coast location???Is that true? Because that is really cool! I wanted to apply there next summer.

The Fashion Show is actually a good show. I never watch Lifetime, and the show will definitely loose viewers, especially with this promo that I just watched.

I love Project Runway, but I am very hesitant to watch it on Lifetime. Even the commercial was bias toward women. Everyone knows that Project Runway has huge male following, especially Gay male following, and contrary to popular belief, not all or even most Gay men tune in to Lifetime. Bravo is clearly the best network for Project Runway to be on. Still, I will watch the season 6 premier on Lifetime and give it a fair chance. If the show becomes vanilla, then I will turn my back to Project Runway.

I love the commercial, especially the cheerleaders!

I love Project Runway! I don’t care which channel it’s on and it’s too bad anyone is worried about that. My husband and I are both boring, middle-class, middle-aged, blue collar, country bumpkins and both of us totally enjoy this show and everyone on it. Hey, if we had no problem watching the Bravo channel, why should any gay guy have a problem watching Lifetime? A great show is a great show. And a great show is always able to reach out and grab people of many varied backgrounds. Let’s just be glad we, from all different walks of life, can get together on loving this show. MAKE IT WORK!!!

I agree with the people that it worries me there are a limited amount of guys expressing their interest in the show. I don’t think this is a woman’s show by any standard, nor is it a gay man’s show. It is just a plain good show. Coming from a straight man that can’t sew, I’m still going to give it a go and hope that this primer isn’t how the show’s direction will go.

  • Vanessa

I say “Make it Work” all the time….

I like project runway. I missed half of the last show. It was so depressing. I am so used to watch the show on Bravo. Now I will have to switch to Lifetime. What a hell is it, I don’t even know what channel should I turn on to located in Orange County, California.

Project Runway can’t come back soon enough for me. I have been gagging watching Isaac and Kelly on The Fashion Show. They are horrible.

As a Fashion Designer myself I have to be fair and true to my art. I love Project Runway and while it spoiled me and made me have concerns about “The Fashion Show” when I saw it’s first show, I love “The Fashion Show” as well. Both shows allow young designers to showcase their talents and to me both as a designer and an artist, that’s what it’s all about. My hat’s off to both shows and all of the young designers that have the honor of expressing themselves and showcasing their talent on national TV. Looking forward to the new season of Project Runway.

  • Ricki Peltzman

Epperson, one of the designers on the new season, is one of the designers I carry at my store Upstairs on 7th in DC. He is so talented and so nice. If he is an example of the talent on this season we are in for quite a show, because he sells out every time he comes to make an appearance. He is that good.

After watching Lifetime’s commercial, I feel somewhat left out of Project Runway’s return. Doesn’t Lifetime realize that men enjoy watching PR; even as a guilty pleasure? Bravo did a much better job of advertising the show to non-gender specific audience. I can’t stand the Lifetime channel, but I am a devout fan of Project Runway. I hope they do the show justice.
