There are multiple reports surfacing online that Katie Holmes will perform on So You Think You Can Dance in what's rumored to be a massive movie musical number by regular SYTYCD choreographer Tyce Diorio and featuring several SYTYCD alums. Although no one connected with the Fox series will comment to EW.com about it, judge and exec producer Nigel Lythgoe let slip to some paparazzi that he's met with Mrs. Tom Cruise, and that the show has something "very, very, very special" in the works. Some are speculating that the plan is for the number to air on the show's 100th episode in July, while others are wondering why the program would celebrate that milestone with, of all people, Katie Holmes. Can we say random?
Well, can we also say why the heck not? The show is supposed to be about discovering new dancers, and if the one-time Dawson's Creek star is a closet hoofer, SYTYCD would certainly be the least risky way of showcasing that hidden talent — Broadway could be too nerve-wracking, and Dancing With the Stars too C-list-y. And, besides, Holmes already showed off some nascent dancing skills last year on ABC's nearly-departed Eli Stone, so it's not like this is entirely out of the blue. Awful….just awful. *I* could dance as well as that and that’s quite the insult to Katie.
However, Tyce is the choreographer and his stuff is as bad as the clip. All she needs to do is study Bob Fosse moves, water them down, remove any original thought, practice her jazz hands and she’ll be fine.
She’s is gorgeous, long-legged and very multi-talented! I loved her in “Eli” and look forward to whatever venue will present her skills for us to view and enjoy! Go, Katie! Dee Dee
I don’t think that should be considered dancing…it’s more like “moving her shoulders and occasionally her feet.”
Well, she makes us all realize just about anyone could sing in this clip, so why not dance?
I would call that more posing, with a kick and some shoulder movement.

Her feature on Eli Stone was a total WIN in my book. It was the best thing she’s done in years (aside from Suri). I hope she does well and gets some of her career back before her tenth anniversary. Just like Nicole, I’m sure she’ll be getting her marching papers (aka divorce) just before all of Tom’s lovely Scientology money becomes joint under California law.

her singing sounded horrible. shrill, nasally and off-pitch almost every other note. but she looked great and the dancing seemed okay.
Ugh. Out of all the people they could have gotten to guest dance on the show they had to pick Katie Holmes?!? I’m so disappointed.

I just saw the video and couldn’t see much by her waving her ands and a bunch of male dances. Was she really singing.. I’m sorry no wonder the show got canceled she must have been the nail to the coffin. I don’t see it. So, she married Tom Cruise- he’s so 15 years ago – he hasn’t had a good movie . And the girl- Let me comment that it’s starting to feel like Tommy Matola and Thalia- Hubby desperately trying to do whatever to bring back a career that was never there other that 5 seasons of WB – Dawson Creek and that fish eyed fish . No wonder I can’t watch TV anymore.. Pure Crap.

This is such crap. Did the show already have 100 Episodes. Wow, amazing- they will dig up any crappy former C lister who was bumped up cause she’s banging and produced an off-spring for Tom Cruise and Scientology.. How much worse can TV get JON & KATE and this crap. I just cringe with I think of how it’s turned into crap..
She’s not the first wife of a prominent man to get picked for a project.

I love how ever since she married Tom Cruise, it’s like MAJOR NEWS when she’s allowed out to perform in something. Doesn’t anyone remember how Nicole Kidman’s career didn’t really take off until she and Tom divorced? This whole thing is just kinda icky to me.

Katie Holmes doesn’t look or act like a 30 year old woman in this. I know she isn’t a kid anymore, but it is kind of sad to me how drastically she has changed in just 4 years. Her drastic haircut and style change seems like she is conforming to an image created for her. If she is truly happy, I guess that’s all that matters. This song and dance number is quite old for her though in my opinion.
I’m a dancer and she hardly danced. Seriously guys, that doesn’t take much training. Katie a dancer?!? I’ll believe it when I see it. She better bring it on SYTYCD. She’s surrounded by way too much talent to just flaunt herself around, throw a fan kick in there and shimmy a bit. Come on…give it to us Katie.

If I were her, I would be crawling under a rock.
A true professional would do the show live …including the singing!
