Today, Steven Patrick Morrissey — known to most of us mere mortals as just Morrissey — turns 50. If you’re like me and you grew up moping around your suburban American bedroom singing along to "What Difference Does It Make?" and feeling like it summed up your life perfectly, I hereby invite you to join me in wishing the former frontman to the Smiths a joyous mid-century milestone. He might have once sung the lyrics "I’ve come to wish you an unhappy birthday, ’cause you’re evil and you lie…," but not us. Mozzer, we’ve come to wish you a very happy birthday, ’cause you’re neato and really fly.
Here he is (below) singing "This Charming Man" on British TV in February. When you’re done with that, check out his hilariously awkward interview with Russell Brand (also below! Too bad the person who uploaded the video spelled Morrissey’s name wrong). Cheers!

His music has made my life a little better. A Very Happy Birthday Morissey!!
I never knew his first name-despite having several of his albums. If by freak chance you read this, happy birthday big guy. World of Morrissey and Vauxhall and I both helped me make it through high school.
